“Management Company (Port A Escapes) not doing their job!”

Reviewed 17 Sep 2013

We've been going to Port A at least twice a year for the last 5 years and I can say without a doubt that this was the WORST experience we've had! The Property Mgt Company (Port A Escapes) was basically non-responsive and didn't really seem to care about any issues we had during our stay BECAUSE they already had been paid. First, the wireless internet didn't work. We called within the first hour we were there and they said the "password" must have been changed by the owner and wasn't given to them. They said they work get it fixed, but, it never got fixed for the 3+ days we stayed there. Next, we had a large group and got two keys and only one of the keys really worked (when you could see how to get the key in the door lock) because the outside porch/door light didn't work. I checked to see if it just needed a bulb, but it was not any ordinary bulb that would fix it. Port A Escapes was notified of this and the fact it was a "safety hazard" and again the problem wasn't fixed nor did they say anything except "thanks for telling us about it" for the 3 nights it wasn't working. One of the TVs was broken and although they did send someone out to look at it, the TV couldn't be repaired during our stay. The refrigerator had a broken shelf/drawer and barely kept things cool, forget about getting anything cold. We had to keep putting ice in the bottom/refrig part to keep stuff from spoiling/getting warm. Bottomline: Worst experience renting at Port A location EVER and definitely not worth $300 a night!!!

“Family Beach Vacation”

Reviewed 8 Sep 2013

So nice to find 4 bedrooms with full-king size beds in all but one which had double bunk beds. We had 8 adults, 2 children & 1 baby so the beds for 'couples' were perfect for us. Clean, kitchen pretty well stocked, great location if you can't be right on the beach! Pool well maintained such a nice plus. Would definitely rent again. Lots of TV's although 1 bedroom TV not installed properly & did not work at all. Sectional sofa provides lots of seating great for a large crowd but could really use a good cleaning. Staff at Port A Escapes helpful as well.

The location of this property was great. Port A was great; however the house had some issues. 3 televisions in the bedrooms upstairs did not work (only the master BR TV worked). The couch in the living room is absolutely filthy. It needs to be cleaned urgently. There was sand and hair on the sheets in some of the bedrooms. I would assume that since they charge a cleaning fee that these would be non issues. The house itself is great, but management needs to make sure it's properly cleaned and up to standard. Don't mean to be harsh just telling it like it is...

“Pelicans Landing Review--overall good”

Reviewed 8 Aug 2013

The house was very beautiful with lots of sleeping space for up to 12 people and a great kitchen. However, based on our experience, I would advise that the cleaning personnel sweep and mop the floors. We had to buy a swiffer mop and do this on our own, because the floors were so filthy. Also, the management should add a DVD player to the main tv in the living room, so that guests can watch DVD movies.

“Great place but could have been cleaner”

Reviewed 20 Jul 2013

We really liked the house. The sofa was extremely stained and there were a few spots in the kitchen that needed some cleaning like the drawers, they had crumbs, and some of the silverware looked dirty and was put away like that. It was nothing that a few minutes of work didn't fix. Overall we really enjoyed the house. Both the pool and the house look a lot bigger in the pictures. The only TV that worked was the one down stairs in the living room and when we called to see if someone could come and take a look they basically blew us off and said they would tell maintenance but thy didn't know if they could make it. They never came! We would definitely rent again considering the issues. Oh, the house is very loud because the floors are all wood and everything echos.

“Had a great stay with my family of 7”

Reviewed 12 Jul 2013

Have no complaints, only suggestions. I think it would be a plus to have a BBQ grill at the house and not have to take your food to the community pool area for grilling. The only other suggestion I have is to have the sectional sofa steam cleaned, it is light in color and shows water stains, etc.

“Great Week @ Sunrise Cottages”

Great week at sunrise cottages, great house, love the layout with bedrooms upstairs!

“Pelicans Landing, a great place, we will be back”

Reviewed 11 Jun 2013

I can only think of one change that would be nice, and it's a little thing. But as a senior, it's a high step in or out of the screen back door to the pool. A small step would sure be a nice addition.
