“Amazing architechture, most memorable stay”
This was my family's last stay-stop of a 16-day Tassie drive-around trip. As they say, the Best is saved for the last. Indeed, we were awed by the internal build when stepping into the house (esp after driving up a nondescript steep rock-gravel path). Reflecting my 3 day stay, it is indeed an architechural and design marvel. Good layout with Bed, Living, Dining and Kitchen areas, and the magical Loft via a Pirate-ship ladder! I particularly like the 3 balcony quadrants which means you can choose either to enjoy a nice sun-tanning session or a cool relaxing corner anytime of the day. Fantastic views of the D'entrecasteaux Channel, watching the white horses racing up northeast one day and down south another. Just 3mins down is alonnah Bay Walk...look for Oysters on the rocks!
“Private, relaxing and full of class”
If you are after a true relaxing getaway when visiting Tasmania or getting off "mainland Tasmania" to Bruny island, dont look further then the Tree House for your accomodation. The house (literally) was very affordable given the fact that you would pay that much for a small room in many places , and this was true luxury. A gorgeous view, beautifully private and close to many of the beauties Bruny Island has to offer. With one of the couches a comfy sofa bed 6 people can stay very comfortably. We arrived to a pre made fire that just needed a lighting (a beutiful touch) and three balconies so you could chase the sun or the shade all day. We were a bit unlucky to have rain for the two nights we stayed but were more than content in this case that we had to stay inside as it was true luxury. Great work to the proprieters, get along and play in the Tree House!
Great place, perfect to celebrate a birthday with friends.
“Excellent. Calme, spacieux, lumineux, terrasses très agréables.”
Excellent séjour, maison isolée très calme. Bien équipée, récente. Jardin en pente, pas de voisinage immédiat. Zone relativement isolée, très appréciable. Un de nos meilleurs logements en Tasmanie. Présence de bois à disposition pour la cheminée qui est efficace. Seul regret, il faut téléphoner au propriétaire pour avoir un accès wifi. Problématique si l'on maîtrise mal la langue...
“An outstanding house in a great location”
The Tree House on Bruny is nestled in the bush on a hillside facing across the D'Entrecasteaux Channel to the Tasmanian mainland. It is simply superb - set well away from neighbours and constructed on poles elevated above the ground, with interesting and impressive architectural design and detail. There are two levels, the top being a double bedroom accessed by steps salvaged from a shipwreck, and with magnificent views. The bottom is open plan, with spacious bedroom living ( with tv dvd and sound system) dining and well-appointed kitchen. The owners have provided various condiments which are supplemented by guests as they leave- there is a wood burning heater, coffee machine and every pot, pan and utensil needed to run up a roast or a barbecue. There is a good bathroom with laundry facilities and three seperate decks to catch dawn, sunsets and provide protection against wind. Truly a magnificent place to set up as a base for exploring Bruny either on foot or by car.It was a pleasure to stay here and our contact with the owners Robert and Jolanda was a very positive experience, with lots of information and travel tips thrown in. With some hesitation we have to say that our only grouch was that we were compelled to sweep, vaccuum and mop the floors and wipe down the benches when we arrived to remove fluff, hair and food particles left by previous people and not cleared up properly by the cleaner. A small complaint but at the time a bit surprising given the high standards obviously set by the owners. We would definitely recommend this place to others seeking good value in the mid to higher end of the market, both because of the property itself and the location.
