“Perfect Retreat”

Reviewed 16 Oct 2014

Just as the review below I cannot say enough about this great vacation retreat. This is truly a wonderful vacation destination. Port Jefferson village is a great small village, seaport experience. The restaurants and shopping were fun after a relaxing morning on the deck drinking coffee and admiring the view. We even had deer join us one morning as we were easing into our day. The house is beyond expectations and the views from every window were excellent. Mike and Sheila were perfect hosts and we felt welcome and secure in this environment. We were here to visit family but wanted a little "us time" so staying in this location made mornings and evenings so comfortable and relaxing. The lanai (or AZ room) was one of our favorite retreats when the rain drove us in off of the deck. The entire house, including the walk-in shower, is easily accessible for us older folks. The house is tastefully decorated but is better suited for adults. A king-size bed would fit nicely into the master bedroom and would have been infinitely more comfortable, but then we would never want to leave this house! We are already planning our vacation to return next year.

“Long Island Refuge”

Reviewed 16 Jul 2013

Nestled high on a hill overlooking Pt. Jefferson Harbor we were immediately impressed by the view and how this open, airy home fit perfectly in the property. In addition to the spectacular view the landscaping provided a kaleidoscope of color and the southwestern themed decor provided a relaxing refuge. Our hosts, Sherri and Mike, made sure all of our needs were met and were very respectful of our privacy as we enjoyed the main living area of their home. Given the view and comfort of the home we were not motivated to leave. When we did, Pt. Jefferson is a great summer town with many shops, restaurants and cultural activities to explore. The pure sand beaches of Long Island's south shore are less than an hour away. We took advantage of the beach chairs provided when we explored Smith's Point Park. We look forward to an opportunity to return in the future.

“A great experience”

Reviewed 8 Jun 2013

Port Jefferson has so much to offer as a Long Island vacation destination...you can ferry to CT for the day, go to the beach, boating, fishing, walking around the quaint villages in the area, excellent restaurants, etc. Nyc is only a train ride away. We stayed here 11 nights, and had an exceptional time. We like to cook, so having a fully equipped kitchen was a blessing. The neighborhood is quiet and hidden away from the main drag, yet literally walking distance to town. Watch the ferry and other vessels come in and out of the harbor and observe deer walking through the woods around the house. Lots of room to relax, and our hosts were most helpful and accomodating. Highly recommended.

“Fantastic ambience and very peaceful”

Reviewed 12 Sep 2012

I stayed here for 1 week. Upon entering the house I was met with a stunning view of the harbor. The house has vaulted ceilings and a wide open feeling of spaciousness. I and any guest that came was immediately stunned by the view and spaciousness of the living areas. Everyone remarked at how comfortable and peaceful it felt just sitting in the living room and admiring the views. Our hosts Sheila and Michael are fantatsic down to earth wonderful people and are a sincere pleasure to chat with. They even offered a ride on their boat to view a sunset one evening. I will definitely acquaint this lovely place again and again if and when I can! Thank you Sheila! Your kindness and hospitality were beyond exceptional! Sincerely, Ron PS Location Location Location: Close to the wonderful town of Pt Jefferson and in the gorgeous community that is Belle Terre.

“Great value! Exactly what we needed!”

Reviewed 12 Aug 2012

I often rent a house when traveling with extended family (adult siblings) since it allows us to stay together and provides a bit more space than a hotel room. We needed a place to stay while visiting family in the area. ThIs was a great find. It was peaceful and had the amenities we wanted. The owners were very eager to accommodate our needs. I couldn't have asked for more.

Response from the owner Thank you so much for your wonderful review!!! It was a pleasure to have you! I do hope to be able to host you when you come to visit again!

“Beautiful!”

Reviewed 11 Jul 2012

We needed a place to stay last minute and Sheila was very accommodating. Anything we needed, she had. It is a gorgeous view and very relaxing! We needed that on our trip visiting family! Port Jeff is a nice little town to hang out in, we wish we had more time there. We will definitely go back!
