Very Good

“Lots of wild life”

Reviewed 19 Mar 2018

If you are looking for a place of the beaten path then staying here just north of the Morongo valley is a great place. The view is awesome and there is a large number of wildlife to watch and enjoy. It is not far from Yucca Valley which had grocery stores and restaruants to chose from and a short drive to Joshua Tree National Park The place was comfortable and had eveything we needed.

“Clean, peaceful, beautiful view”

Really liked this place. It was clean, comfortable bed, great outdoor jacuzzi, close to Joshua Tree. Would definitely stay here again. Quiet surroundings with little critters around: quail, rabbits...

“Perfect Desert Holiday Cottage”

Reviewed 28 Feb 2014

Previous, more detailed and highly positive reviews are very accurate, as is Ron's description and photos of his comfortable holiday home. Anyone used to driving on dirt roads will not hesitate to drive their rental car up here (we didn't, even in the dark), and anyone not used to driving on dirt roads will very quickly become accustomed to doing so on the perfectly adequate roads in this little desert hill subdivision. Ron is an excellent host, and thoroughly explains everything needed - how to operate the hot tub, barbecue, etc. The house is comfortable, clean, and well-cared for - kitchenette is an apt description of the small kitchen space, but it is equipped with all we needed, and worked perfectly well for us. The low-key landscaping, a xeriscape mix of native and site-appropriate introduced vegetation, enhanced by found objects such as interesting rocks and woody remnants, is charming and definitely adds to the appeal of the place. We waited a year to stay here as a winter break from gray and rainy coastal alaska, as we had to cancel our planned trip a year ago when a beloved cat began his final decline. Despite the short notice we gave him, Ron was very gracious when we cancelled, and remembered us when we rebooked. It was worth the wait, and exactly what we'd hoped for. It's very conveniently situated for both Joshua Tree and Palm Springs. We also took the tramway to hike in the San Jacinto wilderness - highly recommended as a counterpoint to Joshua Tree. Thanks Ron!

“Beautiful Property”

Reviewed 23 Apr 2013

Loved this place. There's plenty of room. The property is spacious and right in the middle of nature. Saw a Rosy Boa and Roadrunners. It's a nice place to get away from the madness. It's very clean and well kept. Ron is very welcoming. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

“Beautiful and away from the City!”

Reviewed 17 Apr 2013

We booked this vacation rental last minute last year for Stagecoach. Fortunately, Ron had a cancellation and we were able to stay! The home was amazing and well taken care of! The views are beautiful! Great Mom & Pop Restaurants are just down the street if you don't want to cook and there are lots of hiking spots nearby! Ron is very easy to get ahold of and very nice. We had such a great time that we are returning this year and staying for a longer period of time! Can't wait to come next week!!

“Great Owner!”

Reviewed 28 Feb 2013

This is not a review of the property, as unfortunately we had to cancel our holiday at short notice - this a review of our interactions with Ron, the owner. He was very friendly and helpful when we first booked his property back in October, and very understanding and kind when we had to postpone our much needed holiday in the sun. We had been very excited about staying at his wonderful looking property, and recommend him wholeheartedly from all our interactions.

“Great Getaway”

Reviewed 9 Jul 2012

I stayed at Ron's cottage this past weekend. It proved to be the perfect antidote for Palm Springs ... relaxed, cooler, more space with great morning and evening views. Having completely separate living and bedroom spaces on different floors made the quarters live a lot larger. It was nice to have coffee in the morning watching the sun rise. If you need groceries, and eating out, it's just 5 mins down the road in Yucca Valley, but the cottage itself feels like it's out in the mountains. Everything that I needed was provided for. As I did use the internet, I can say it's one of the best and fastest connections I've ever had. Parking the car right in front of the door was a pleasure .. no long walks down corridors and parking lots. The bathroom was a visual delight with the stone shower. As it was in the dead of summer, cooling was important and the airconditioning kept the place pleasant.

“Wonderful- everything was excellent- Great Getaway =)”

Reviewed 29 May 2012

My partner and I stayed at Ron's two-story property out in Morongo Valley. We are a young couple and experienced travelers. For me, important things when finding somewhere to stay during travel: 1- Cleanliness 2- Usefulness of the Space 3- Privacy 4- Good Location 5- Comfort all this was 5 stars. The pictures are cute but do not do the place justice, as there were so many enjoyable details that looked great, were useful and comfortable. The bedroom area has a large closet. A table and chairs to just hang out at, a door to an outside small patio. Soothing stone floor, a super comfortable bed, large TV and DVD player- and a massage table that we didn't use but thought was a great extra touch. The upstairs area is Great- comfortable, with everything you need and great views! I think the details are what really made me happy- we expected a cool place, but this place far exceeded our expectations. Details like: Plenty of tissue, paper towels in the kitchen and cleaning supplies, soap, towels and clean linens, large mirrors, a little telescope, brochures to the nearby nature spots, recommendations to great places to eat, lots of pillows, great views, many tables. Really comfortable bed. Aesthetically pleasing place. If you're going to the area, its very close to Joshua Tree, Desert Hot Springs, Palm Springs, Morongo Cassino, but in my option, much better than staying at a hotel. We went to a great antique shop, had great walks, took lots of photos and ate delicious food. It was the perfect way to get away without feeling you're in a hyper-touristy place with stress and overwhelming plans. Honestly, wish we'd stayed there one more day just to hang out in the cottage and spend time together in such a great setting, I wouldn't even have wanted to leave- very chill, very comfortable. Highly recommend it! It was a lovely time, and a very great place!

This property is special. My fiance and I stayed here for 4 nights in april when temperatures were predicted to be in the high 90's to low 100 degrees for the desert cities but staying here was 5 to 10 degrees cooler than what we were expecting. When we drove in to Palm Springs and Palm Desert it definitely was noticeably hotter. The property itself is very well maintained as it is clean, orderly, relaxing and private. The views are beautiful. We came with no expectations and were happily surprised with everything from the comfort level, to the amenities and coordinating check-in/out. The owner, Ron, is such a kind man; he was friendly, helpful and even went out of his way to send us back a pair of shoes we mistakenly left behind. We highly recommend this place to other travelers who are looking for a peaceful retreat and intend on coming back with friends.
