“Fabulous relaxing stay, wonderful views and super food at Keel Row pub”

Reviewed 2 Jul 2016

We have just returned from a wonderful relaxing week in a perfect location overlooking Iona and amazing outlook on the beautiful beach of Fionnphort. This cottage has to be one if the best locations we have stayed at to date across Scotland, Shop, food at Keel Row pub, Creel stall all fabulous and well worth a try, plenty of walks and weather were very kind to us. I would highly recommend, Jackie and Colin Thank you for the info and fabulous break, we hopefully will see you in the future.

Response from the owner Many thanks for your kind comments and do hope you return soon. Best regards Colin & Jackie

“Fabulous warm cosy cottage with spectacular views across to Iona.”

Reviewed 22 Apr 2015

Had a lovely week here in Fionnphort. The cottage is two mins. walk from the pub and the local shop and five mins down to the pier where you can get the ferry to Iona and also a boat trip to Staffa. We did both. There are loads of lovely walks around. Great wildlife ... we spotted oyster catchers, herons, shags, the puffins had just arrived and we also saw seals and dolphins! Coming back to the cottage after a strenuous day tramping the hills was great. There is an amazing rain shower in the main bedroom which eases away any aches and pains and you can then set a log fire and watch the sun set over Iona. The cottage is fully equipped with anything you might need and the beds are really comfy!!

Response from the owner We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay at our cottage and do hope you return soon. Kind regards Colin & Jackie

“perfect house for a family in a great location with direct access to the beach”

Reviewed 7 Jan 2015

We spent a wonderful week with perfect weahther in the cottage with our kids (6 and 10 years), we all loved the location and to live so near to the beach! We explored all the beaches nearby (our favourite was a small bay only reachable by a footpath right from the cottage), saw the eagles flying and in the nest, visited Tobermory and the beautiful Islands of Iona and Staffa. The kids loved to take the canoe during high tide in the bay and we could watch a lot of birds and animals with the telescope. It's a peaceful place and we would recommend it to everyone who loves the nature!

Response from the owner We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay at our cottage and do hope you return soon. Kind regards Colin & Jackie

“Lovely location, gorgeous views!”

Reviewed 4 Aug 2014

Really lovely cottage with an amazing view! We had good weather so that helped of course, but Mull is just such a magical place. If possible, do the walk to Traigh Gheal, it is a magical beach that you can only reach on foot (1 hour and 45 minutes) or by boat. The cottage was really clean and the kitchen was well equipped, as were the bathrooms. It would be a bit of a squeeze with 4 adults and 4 children I think but with a smaller group it was perfect!

Response from the owner Sorry for our late reply to your review. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay at our cottage and do hope you return soon. Kind regards Colin & Jackie

“Lovely cottage in a beautiful location.”

Reviewed 13 Jul 2014

Lovely cottage which is very well equipped in one of the best beachside locations. A lovely beach at the bottom of the garden and a great view across to Iona. We have stayed in a few holiday cottages around Scotland and this is one of the best that we have used. The facilities are good with clear instructions on how to use everything in the house and extensive information about the surrounding area. We felt that our two young children were very safe when they played in the garden and on the beach. We had great fun with the kids on the beach, out on our dinghy and crabbing. One of the most relaxing holidays we've had, can't wait to go back again.

“Wonderful and outstanding experience”

Reviewed 20 Apr 2014

The service was superb and the owners had made the home very comfortable and pleasant. The location was excellent with a lovely view from the lounge window of the beach, sea and the isle of Iona. The ferry for a trip to Iona is close by within a short walk (a trip to Iona is recommended, a very beautiful island). Nearby the cottage is a shop, friendly pub and somewhere to have a good meal out.

“Unbeatable location with solid, unpretentious comfort”

Reviewed 17 Jul 2013

This is a well equipped cottage with an amazing view of Iona and what amounts to its own beach. A shop and the Iona ferry are just steps away. It accommodated our 4 adults and 3 children without any trouble, with the exception of one bedroom which had no closet. However, this was a minor inconvenience. A real sense of being in our own home. Good local information provided by the owner.

Response from the owner So pleased you and your family enjoyed your stay at our cottage. Thanks for the review. Kind regards Colin & Jackie

“A quiet relaxing holiday”

Reviewed 8 May 2013

A comfortable, homely cottage. The beach is a few yards away and the Isle of Iona can be seen from the windows with lovely sunsets in the evening. A pub is a short walk away and the food is very good. A trip on the ferry to the isle of Iona is recommended. There are beautiful beaches with white sand and turquoise seas. During our stay on the isle of Mull we saw seals, golden eagles, deer and in one bay a basking shark. We had beautiful weather blue skies and sunshine but it's not always like this.

Response from the owner So leased you enjoyed your stay at Tigh-na-Failte and hope to hear from you again soon. Kind regards Colin &. Jackie

“You could not wish for a better outlook!”

Reviewed 12 Oct 2012

Everything about this cottage is great, and we had a wonderful week with 4 friends, in good weather. Although we had the bedroom with en suite, there were no complaints about the other 2 smaller ones. The outlook here is just superb, we had trips to Iona, Staffa, Erraid and Carsaig (where rock formations attract geologists from all over), and nice walks from the cottage. The Keel Row pub is good for bar meals (but you can get better beer on Iona!), the shop is good (you can order fresh seafood on Wednesdays), and the Iona ferry (seen from the cottage) is only 5 minutes walk away. And the sheep rub themselves against your car! Looking forward already to another visit.
