“Not as secluded as you might think, amazing sunsets”

Reviewed 24 Apr 2015

We arrived by plane from Manila on the recently established Phillipean Airlines flight at midday and were met at the small airport and driven to Looc. Suggest that you stock up on provisions here, although at midday it will be hard to find bread and the produce in the market is best bought early morning. The crossing from Looc to the house is in a small traditional boat (Banca), which is basically a canoe with outriggers, be prepared to get a little wet, again the best time to cross is when carm early morning or evening, not midday. The view from the sea of the beach houses has changed since the advertised pictures were taken, it is not isolated. To the left is a derelict three storey concrete house, to the right are some new cottages and behind are the fishermans homes. The house is actually semi-detached however, the adjoining property was not occupied when we were there. The sunsets are amazing and the night sky is awesome. Recommend viewing both from the verranda with a few cheap (35 ps) cold beers (bought from local cage store) because the sandy terrace is full of fleas. The sea is shallow and OK for snorkelling but becareful of the jellyfish and further out near the small island sea urchins. The beach in front is not clear of broken coral and stones, and is used by the locals for washing, recommend swimming further along the beach in front of the Hermetcrab cottages. The waste rubbish is burnt periodically directly behind the house and smoke permiates through the house. You will be sharing the property with cock roaches begging cats and dogs. The facilities are clean and basic. Potable water provided in a container. Plastic corkscrew and tin opener that doesn't work part of the adventure. We spent 10 days here (less 2 nights in Borocay), the locals are friendly, no wifi and only got a phone signal (Global) by walking out in to the rice fields behind the village. Isolated but not remote or as quite and peaceful as I would have liked. Good value for money if you want a basic Phillipean beach experience. Not much else to do other than sunbathe, swim and cook.

“A quiet and nice place in front of the beach”

Reviewed 18 Aug 2013

We spent à real good time in this house in front of the sea. We had a good reception by the family of the owner. People of the village was also very friendly. It was very quiet as it was far away of other villages. Tablas island is a place who would earn to be know but better it stays far of the tourists to not change.

“Authentic village experience”

Stunning beach front setting i the middle of a peacefull lasy philipino village. Bying fresh caught fish from the local fishermen and bbq those together with vegetables bought in the village was just superp. Friendly and helpfull people everywhere especially the nice couple who are the caretakers. Hot shower, flushing toilet and a small kitchen. All you need is in the house.

“Unique emotions in a fantastic place”

Getting up in the morning and buy fresh fish from the fishermen is wonderful. The best time to cook the fish is at sunset with a cold beer. While grilling the fish in the front yard, you can taste the full flavor of life, seeing the sun going down under the sea, the smell of freshly caught fish in the grill is an unforgettable experience.

“Perfect relax in a beautiful beach”

Sunset Beach House is perfect if you're looking for a place to be away from it all without sacrificing luxury and comfort. Coming from the busy and bustling city of Bangkok, it was great to relax completely. Yes, it is about 2 hours on mainly wonderful but over loaded beach of Boracay. The whole place is made for total relaxation, lounging, reading, sipping coffee. I haven't slept so well in a long time. No need for air conditioning or music, there's the sea breeze, the sound of the ocean. The food is excellent. They make delicious, home-cooked with very simple but high quality ingredients, the protein is mainly freshly caught fish from the nearby fishing village. It's comfort food but it is light and healthy. I'm sure there are a lot of hiking opportunities in the area but I decided to just hang around and spend most of my time lazing around, reading, sipping coffee and beer, laying on the hammock, walking on the beach.

“Everything's better in the Philippines...”

This is the perfect getaway place. We are a family of 5 (2 girls ages 4 & 2 and a son, 9 months old) and we stayed for 7 nights. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The ocean is just outside the front door, and the water is so relaxing and warm. At low tide, you can walk all the way to the island and see some of the coolest, most colorful sea creatures! Riding in the fishing boat from Looc to the house was great. Even so far from the shore, you can see to the bottom of the sea and see starfish, fish, and other sea creatures. Vanessa is wonderful at communicating--she is prompt, reliable, truthful, and friendly. She gave us so many helpful tips before arriving that we felt as though she were an old friend of ours. The village where the house is located is home to some of the friendliest people I've ever met. Ever. We instantly felt accepted and taken care of by everyone we met. Walking through the village was fantastic, where everyone greets you with a smile and a hello. The children are so friendly and happy--my daughters fell in love with them and loved playing with the local kids, hunting for seashells and hermit crabs, and walking to the little shop for ice candy. The house was the perfect size and very clean and well-cared for. The girls had their own room, & our son had a crib that they were gracious enough to provide so we didn't have to tote our own. We had a bathroom, kitchen/living space, and a lovely porch with a hammock where the views are stunning. We were able to just completely relax. The food was absolutely some of the best we've ever had. We bought fresh fish a few times while we were there and the preparation was outstanding. Sonia and Dely took such good care of us and we felt like extended family. The girls took to them immediately and enjoyed when they came by the house. It was very difficult to say good bye at the end of our vacation. I hope we can go back again someday.

Myself, My wife and our Two year old son, had the absolute pleasure of staying at the Beautiful Casa Paradiso in March 2012. We were picked up by the boatman in his Banca from Looc bay. Just 10 Minutes later we arrived at the stunning setting of Casa Paradiso. Right on the sea front, where you can hear the calming lapping of the sea. I could not wait to jump into the Crystal clear waters. It was perfect for my Two year old Son. You can walk out so far on the Sand bottom sea. The apartments are very Spacious and clean. With everything you need to keep you going. We will be back asap for a much longer stay. Enjoyed this paradise on earth.

“Casa Paradiso is a real paradise...a unique experience”

Reviewed 20 Feb 2012

Casa Paradiso is really beautiful, the colors and the feelings you evoke,a place like this is very special. There are few people in this village but gentleness and sweetness unmatched. I met ''Iloc'' ( an old folk in the village) always ready to fulfill your every desire, from collecting coconuts to savor the milky juice of this fruit, to cook the freshly caught fish on the grill, to ride his boat to see the corals. Dely, the wife of Iloc will cook for you whatever you bought in the market of the Looc (a nearby town in 10 minutes by boat). And how not to speak of children playing on the beach, whose ambition is only to know your customs and traditions to enrich their spirit? Casa Paradiso then is enchanted: the house is situated on a long white beach surrounded by palm trees with an islet in front, snorkelling can be done easily, you can see puffer fish, porcupine fish and many other bright colors, which can only be seen in aquariums. The sunsets are undescribable: certainly the nicest I've ever seen, with the sun rays emanating, at times red, pink and blue, set right in front of Casa Paradiso. I would certainly come back to soak in the beauty and peace of Casa Paradiso, among people close to you, but do not consider how the chicken plucking, but with a great deal of discretion will feel the pleasure to be rich with new experiences and give them your experiences and knowledge.
