“Good luck saying "goodbye" to Villa Abadi”

Reviewed 11 Sep 2016

From the views, to the service, to the space, everything was just incredible! We brought our Mom to Bali on a surprise birthday trip and she was completely overwhelmed by her experience. The staff was excellent (Raty, Darmi, Raphael) and very helpful including the owner, Joanne, who was always quick to repsond to any questions that we had before the trip began. It's a bit far from town, but is excellent for a quiet getaway and more of a relaxing, stress free vacation. We hired the chef, Buddah, to cook for us on several occasions as well as the ladies from the villa's recommended spa for in house massages. Definitely take advantage of both of these options. I am super startled of spiders and bugs in general so I had to adjust to the tropical climate and the likelihood of seeing these things on a regular basis but the staff was happy to get rid of any unwanted creatures that may have found their way in. The only other thing that was a bit disappointing was the wifi but it's Bali so it was a great reminder to put my phone down and enjoy what was around me. Overall, we had an amazing time and had to basically drag my mom away from the place. She was overwhelmed.

Response from the owner Hi Charity, thank you so much for your kind comments. We're so glad you enjoyed your stay with us and will pass your comments on to our staff who definitely deserve much of the credit for making our guest stays so memorable. Unfortunately internet issues are a regular occurrence in Bali, but we are looking into what can be done to improve the current arrangement. Thanks again for choosing Villa Abadi. Kindest regards, Joanne

“Perfect family getaway”

I had stayed in this villa few months ago with my parents, I have to say it was just a perfect experience. First of all, we were impressed when we first arrived at the villa. I really love the brilliant design, good combination of Balinese and contemporary style. It has the stunning open view of the greenery and at the same time, it has also privacy. Thats quite important cos nobody want to lay on the lounge chair when others could stare at you from their house. Besides, the 3 spacious bedrooms are just perfect for family vacation. what we like the most is their service. I love their staffs, they were all really helpful. They helped us with laundry, grocery shopping, cleaning, cooking, reservation and etc, really made our vacation an relaxing one. I would definitely recommend their chef! Initially we only asked her to cook one meal, but then we all fell in love with the food, it was just amazing!! and we asked her to cook for us for our entire stay. I know that Bali has a lot of nice restaurants, but trust me, the chef here is really the top standard. The only down side about this villa is the location. you definitely need a car to get around. It is not close to any touristy districts. However if you are looking for a relaxing and quite vacation, this is definitely the right place for you:) PS. I really want to give a big hug to Joanne!! Thank you so so much! Due to some personal reasons, I asked Joanne for help after 3 months of my stay. She replied me immediately and helped me a lot. Thank you Joanne! I will definitely come back next time!

Response from the owner Hi Chelsea, thank you so much for your kind comments, we're delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us. We will pass your comments back to the staff as you're so right, they are real stars, especially chef Buda who we agree is very addictive indeed! It was our pleasure to be of assistance again recently, it was no trouble at all and we're glad it helped. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future. With kindest regards, Joanne

“wonderful stay at Villa abadi”

my husband and I stayed at Villa abadi late april 2014 The Villa is spacious and well maintained with daily pool and villa clean - We took up the offer of optional breakfast which was nicely cooked. Staff very friendly. They organized in house massages every day which were around $20 for a one hour massage which was great. we found Echo Beach Restaurant a great spot for meals (25 minutes away)We also had a surprise me dinner cooked in house. We had a very good diver who was a wealth of information for $45 for 8 hours. The pool was beautifully maintained with a fabulous outlook - loved cooling off in our own pool. The photos truly represent the Villa . new kitchen and bathroom professionally finished . we were a little worried about the distance from Seminyak which in late afternoon took 60 minutes with traffic.( during morning it took 45 minutes)But after spending several days already in Seminyak we were happy to just be at Villa abadi - yes we will look forward to coming back -lots of areas to explore but will need car or bike. i can definitely recommend

Response from the owner Hi Susan, thank you for your review and we're delighted that you enjoyed your stay at Villa Abadi. We've used the same local chefs, car and massage providers since 2011 and it's great to hear our guests enjoying their value & services as much as we do. We will add a note to our Villa Guide about the Seminyak road getting quite busy in late afternoon due to the traffic heading to Tanah Lot for sunset. We look forward to welcoming you back to Villa Abadi in the future. Kindest regards, Joanne

“Paradise in Bali!”

We have recently returned from a very relaxing holiday at the Villa abadi were everything was perfect, from the outstanding service to the breathtaking views of the rice fields. The Villa itself is amazing and furnished to a very high standard, with lovely pool and outdoor sala, which is perfect for relaxing and enjoying an afternoon cocktail as the sun sets. Thought has been given to the very fine details. A mobile phone and laptop are available for guests use. Villa abadi toiletries were available on arrival. Everyone that works at the Villa is so welcoming and they really go out of their way to make the stay wonderful. Through the owner we organised for a driver to pick us up at the airport, and to take us to Seminyak and Ubud for shopping and sightseeing. We also hired a chef who cooked the most delicious Indonesian food. Both the chef and the drivers are superb (at an additional cost but relatively inexpensive). A short stroll in the morning takes you through the local village where you can by the best eggs that we had tasted in years! I can highly recommend the spa treatments, details of which are available in the Villa. We had a 90 minute aromatherapy massage which was very reasonably priced, and better still we didn't even have to leave the luxury of the Villa. We had wonderful stay and would highly recommend Villa abadi. We are already planning our second trip!

Response from the owner Hi Lorna Thank you very much for your kind comments about Villa Abadi. We're delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us and look forward to welcoming you back in the future. We definately agree about the eggs! Kindest regards, Joanne

“Fantastic”

This was our second family holiday at Villa abad. Villa abad is set atop of beautiful Balinese rice paddies with an extremely quiet ambiance and tranquil setting, away from the hustle and bustle of the main tourist areas of Bail. There are local supermarkets within walking distance and it is only a short 40 minute drive to Semanyak with shops and excellent restaurants with all your local and western favorites; there are many to choose from and you will be spoilt for choice. The Villa itself is very well furnished and ideal for mums and dads and the children. A pool for you to play in or relax by with warm tropical climates. For down time with the family there is a TV with a number of satellite stations and a wide selection of Dvd's whereby the kids can relax whilst mum and dad sip cocktails or a glass of champagne on the balcony overlooking the paddies fields as the sunsets on a lovely balmy Balinese evening. What really made our stay that extra special was the cooperative and friendly staff. Both the chef and the drivers are superb (at an additional cost but relatively inexpensive). They absolutely made our stay. There is nothing better than returning to your villa after a hard day's shopping; strolling the beach or lazing by the pool and sitting down to a first class meal prepared by your "own personal chef and washing it down with a glass of wine or few cold Bintan beers. A very memorable stay, we will certainly be back.

“The perfect retreat from a busy life.”

This was our second family holiday at Villa abadi . We had such a great time on our first visit that we booked the next one straight away. The Villa is perfectly located , it is quiet and the scenery is spectacular, while it is only a short drive to many of the great spots that Bali has to offer. The Villa and furnishings are of a very high standard, it has everything you need for a perfect holiday. My children really enjoyed exploring the rice fields and farms around the villa, the villagers where friendly and very tolerant of the many questions being asked of them. I was very happy to sit by the pool and read my book occasionally glancing up to watch the farmer work his rice terraces, waiting for the chef to prepare another incredible meal. While the Villa is great what makes the holiday is the staff , they are fantastic and really make you feel at home, we wanted to learn how to surf the driver took us to a place negotiated a very good price and then surfed with us ,it is this kind of service that separates Villa abadi from other places we have stayed in. I would suggest hiring the chef and the driver to make this a truly memorable holiday. We have already booked our return visit .

Response from the owner Hi Adam Thank you for your kind review, we're so glad that you enjoyed your second stay with us and look forward to welcoming you back again in the future. Thanks also for your comments about the staff, they are great guys - we will make sure they get past on. Kindest regards, Joanne

“Beautifull stay with all you can imagine”

Reviewed 22 Oct 2013

My family and me stayed in Villa abadi for 7 days and were very pleased with the location, the house itself and the service we had during our stay. The villa is located a bit outside of the hustle of standard Bali tourist places and is offering a great place to relax and enjoy the spirit of Bali. A car though is necessary to get around. The house is very spacious with lots of small hideaway spots and tastefully decorated with local furniture. This is a place where you can feel at home. One improvement item is the bathroom of the third room downstairs which is compared to the high quality of the other bathroom rather standard. The pool and the outside area are amazingly well kept and a very nice place to relax. All the staff is very friendly and always smiles, the food from the chef is delicious. One general hint: Ask the chef to cook local dishes with local ingredients to not only get the full Bali experience but as well save some money since imported goods are very expensive. As a highlight we had as a surprise a very nicely decorated sleeping room with a bottle of champagne waiting for us on the first day back from our wedding. Thanks a lot to Joanne and all the staff for an unforgettable stay in Villa abadi, we will come back the next time we visit Bali.

Response from the owner Hi Tim, thank you very much for your kind comments. We're so glad that your wedding plans came together well and that you enjoyed our small gift. With regards to the bedroom 3 en-suite it's the next project on our list, which we're currently planning and hope to start work soon. Thanks again for choosing Villa Abadi. We would be delighted to welcome you back when you are next in Bali. Kindest regards, Joanne

“Beautiful and spacious rural Villa surrounded by rice fields”

Reviewed 25 Sep 2013

We stayed at Villa abadi with our two children and the Villa was perfect for our family of 4. The Villa has a large open plan living, dining, kitchen, with the living room leading out to the lovely garden, pool and very comfortable bale. From the garden you have a view of the rice fields which when we were there in September were lovely and green. Upstairs were 2 large bedrooms, including the master suite which was rather grand. Upstairs also there was a lovely balcony with fantastic view (we enjoyed coffee here most mornings) The bathroom was also spacious and beautiful. There was another 3rd bedroom with onsuite which was located downstairs on the other side of the entrance way, which we didn't end up using but would be perfect even for another couple. The Villa was very clean, tidy and impeccably decorated (like the pictures in the various "balinese homes" coffee table books located within the villa. The pool was likewise clean and well maintained, not too deep (us adults could stand in it with our heads above the water. The Villa itself is quite rural relatively, you will need transport to get to restaurants, shopping etc (apart from a some supermarket in the village which stock some basics). We arranged for the use of the car/driver for 3 days during our stay but we were quite content to stay in the villa on the other days to relax or explore the local surroundings, and we had the in house chef cook several times (he makes plenty of food!). The house staff were great (cleaned, washed clothes etc). Joanne the owner was a pleasure to deal with, she promptly responds to queries and was keen that our stay would be pleasurable. She even arranged for our list of provisions on arrival (nice mix of local fruits included). We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this Villa for anyone wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle and touristy areas.

Response from the owner Hi Claire Thank you very much for your very kind comments and positive feedback. We're delighted that you enjoyed your stay and look forward to welcoming you back in the future. We're just about to board a flight to Bali for a few days at the villa ourselves and are looking forward to much the same things that you noted, plus we also have some new projects to implement that we hope will continue to enhance our guests stays at Villa Abadi. Thanks again and kindest regards, Joanne

“Beautiful, relaxing, lovely staff, huge villa & lovely pool!!!”

Reviewed 6 Sep 2013

A lovely and relaxing week with my family! We loved the huge villa, the kids loved the pool. The service was excellent! Very accomodating, it felt like home as soon as we arrived. we love the surrounding rice fields and local villages and meeting the locals. The local Hindu praying early in the morning took a little while to get used to but we will definitely be back!!!

Response from the owner Hi Rebecca Thank you so much for your kind and positive feedback. We're delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us and trust that the children enjoyed it as much as you did - we find that the pool normally keeps them happy, if noisy, much of the time! It's great to hear that you got into the village as the local community are lovely and really are an all too often missed part of visits to Bali. I hope that you managed to sample their fresh eggs too! We look forward to welcoming you back to Villa Abadi in the future. Kindest regards, Joanne
