“Relaxing and pet friendly”

Reviewed 8 Jan 2014

Location: Central Brittany, woods, lakes, rivers and access to the coasts.(about one and a half hours drive to Morbihan, Finisterre and the Emerald coast) Amenities/attractions: Local-Charming floral villages, walking, cycling, sailing in the lakes, swimming, markets. If you like a quiet place and outdoor activities this is for you. You will need a car. Welcome: Very friendly to both people and pets. A large well enclosed garden and walks in the adjacent forest is ideal for high energy pets. I stayed for a whole glorious summer in this gite. The location is outstanding, similar to Highland Perthshire but with better weather. The locals are very friendly and keen to incorporate you into Breton culture. This is an ideal location to explore the whole of Brittany with its scenery, beaches , rolling hills, culture, walled towns etc. If you like Celtic music you will love the many fetes (with music, dancing and crepes) Visit the InterCeltic held every year in Lorient in July? But no need to do anything but relax in the large, pretty garden with a glass of chilled wine. The gite bedrooms are on the ground floor so cool for a good night's sleep in summer. I would recommend this laid back gite and area for anyone who needs to chill out. If you are arriving in the evening buy in food as the local restaurants close early.

“A good relaxing countryside location”

Reviewed 20 Jan 2013

For anyone wishing to have a quiet relaxing holiday in the heart of the beautiful French countryside, this upside-down cottage is ideal. Situated on the edge of a forest, with the Lake and Nante-Brest Canal only a short distance away, it is an excellent venue for walkers. It is also not too far away from interesting towns with all the essential amenities. Although the owner's house next door adjoins the garden there is complete privacy. However, when needed, Eve proved extremely helpful regarding locations, venues, etc. The views from the upstairs rooms are beautiful - sunrises and sunsets were spectacular - and we enjoyed relaxing at the end of the day in the garden by the ornamental fish pond.

“Relaxing Gite in Central Brittany”

Reviewed 14 Mar 2012

I first booked this property, for an end of season break in September, because of its location in central Brittany and reasonable cost. Booking was easy and the directions given made the property no problem to find. Eve had left a welcome pack with all the essentials needed for the first night's stay. The Gite provided everything we needed and more. We spent the first night studying the tourist information and deciding what to visit. Eve had suggested we go to the street market at "The Bon Repos” on Sunday morning and have a coffee at the bar there. Well worth it and it gave us a good start to the holiday. I would recommend this Gite to anyone looking for somewhere they can relax but is central to all parts of Brittany. In fact we enjoyed it so much that we went back for a mini break in November!
