“Great, secluded stay for my family!”
My husband, son and I had a fantastic stay at the Chalet. Close to Luray Caverns and nature right at the back door. Loved the privacy. Would love to go back!!
“Rest and Relaxation”
I rented the cabin for a Birthday weekend getaway for my husband and a friend. It was a perfect hole in the wall for fishing, hiking, and whatever else you like to do. We will rent again in the future, has everything you need at an awesome price and great location!
“Wonderful vacation in the historic Shenandoah.”
Being a Virginian any chance to travel the Shenandoah Valley is a pleasure. Rarely, due to work schedules, have my wife an I been able to stay for more than a day or two. This time I had seven whole days. I believe this was the first site that I visited yet it seemed to have all that I was looking for to relax and explore in detail parts of the Valley. Where else but among the folks of the valley could you arrive and check in with such ease. The setting is as beautiful as described with a wonderful view of the mountains saying good night at sunset and to awaken us at sunrise. The chalet was a delight with every thing we would need. Even phone service was provided since cell service is spotty at best. Being from the Washington area the last thing we needed was blaring media news. We came to the Shenandoah to get away from that. We used the chalet as a base camp to explore from Waynesboro to Winchester. Seven days of perfect weather did not hamper things while hiking the Skyline but even a steady rain would have been fun here. This is a great place inhabited by wonderful people. We will be back. We really did not want to leave today. Regards, Wilson Faris Gaithersburg, MD.
“What a wonderful place!”
I have now stayed here twice and can't wait to go back. The chalet is in a perfect location nestled in the hills and not far from great hiking, restaurants and adventure. Whether a long weekend or a week, well worth it!!
“Wonderful cabin, great price!”
Everything you need in this nice little cabin get-away. Surrounded by woods and wildlife. Great quite place to get away, enjoy nature, see deer, and take pictures. They had everything you could think of from dishes & coffee to DVD movies. Highly recomended. Great price. Only minutes from Skyline Drive and many caverns.
This chalet was exactly as described. The location was beautiful and the house was clean and very affordable. Thanks for the hiking suggestions as it was too warm for skiing. Lots to do in nearby Luray too.
“Perfect and affordable Place to Get-A-Way from the Hussle and Bu”
We have stayed at the Chalet twice and just love it. The price is right and the house is spacious, clean, and very comfortable. We have used it as a get-a-way in the winter to leave the hectic pace of DC and love that there's no cable, internet, or cell phone coverage... we bring dvd's, lots of food and drink, hike during the day and cook and relax at night. This past trip, we hit a couple of close wineries, which was just a perfect touch. Highly Recommend!
“Pre-Baby Get away”
My wife and I rented the Chalet while my was pregnant just as a getaway before my son came. The cabin is very charming and we had everything that we needed. There is an awesome view from the front of the cabin. Further, you can hear the nearby stream in the background. A very picturesque setting. I would definitely recomend this to anyone as a quiet getaway in the hills. I have only 1 issue, the fireplace looks cool, but doesnt work all that well. It cant take very much wood at all and can fill the room with smoke very easily. Other than the fireplace, we had a great time at the Chalet and would recommend to anyone who wants a peaceful and quiet getaway.
“Romantic and Relaxing”
The Shenandoah Chalet is a place we'd like to retire to... cozy, comfortable, and clean. I forgot peaceful - really peaceful. We enjoyed our entire experiences, our pancake breakfasts, our hikes, our all-night game of scrabble. It's going back to simpler times without shopping, traffic or craziness. When can we move in?
“Great place with one problem”
Loved the place and the area. Did not like have to take our trash with us. No other place in my life did I have to pack our trash in our car to take home. This was a bit unpleasant. Also picking up the key from a mailbox along the road was also a bit out there. Other than these two issues was a great little place and a great place to hike.
Response from the owner Clarification: We do offer trash removal. Please recycle, the bins are in the Chalet's garage. You conveniently pick up the Chalet's key from the local caretakers mailbox, we (the owners) live 100 miles away in Frederick, MD.
