“Perfect Beach House for a small family vacation”

Reviewed 19 Dec 2014

The house is located in a perfect spot in Zancudo. Close enough to walk to a small market, but away from the crowds, not that there are crowds in Zancudo anyway! Everything needed for a comfortable stay is provided by the owners, Carol and Paul. We are grateful for the opportunity to rent your home for our vacation. Thanks so much! I was fortunate enough to spend a whole month at Casita Las Palmas 'tirandomela rico' (taking it eaaasy) and it was one of the best of my life! Biking on the quiet beach road, peaceful surf fishing without another soul in sight, reading in the hammock, pink, purple, orange sunsets in the backyard every evening (even during the rainy season!), practicing Spanish with the friendly locals, eating green mango and drinking the milk from coconuts that had fallen mere feet from the house were daily activities that I've been missing ever since I left. The house is beautiful- the palm roof and the color seem typical and blend right in with the picturesque surroundings. The interior was very clean, provided all the comforts of home in the US and even had AC although I never needed it. I took a LOT of photos and two years later they are still drawing envy from friends on facebook. My stay was completely unforgettable. I'll be back!!

“Peaceful beachfromt community”

Reviewed 21 Apr 2014

We enjoyed the casita and the community very much. The beach is lovely as are the town and the locals. The owners were very helpful in directing us to the best restaurants and things to do in the area. The house is quaint, and supplied with your basic necessities, and the local stores offered whatever else we needed for our stay at Playa Zancudo. The house is right on the beach, and there were many animals and birds in the area for viewing.

“Perfect Casita on the Beach!”

Reviewed 2 Feb 2014

This very private little beach house provided a perfect location for our stay at Playa Zancudo. Carol was very helpful in orienting us to the town and letting us know where to shop and eat. We met many friendly folks who make this small town their home and were even treated to the local evening Christmas parade. This stay was one of the highlights of our two-month visit to Costa Rica. Highly recommend it to anyone who loves the ocean and is looking for a peaceful place to stay!

“Peaceful Ocean Home”

Reviewed 26 Nov 2013

This casita, a small home, was perfect for my friend and I. We woke up to the sounds of ocean waves and exotic birds singing that was so comforting and relaxing. We would spend time swimming in the ocean and at times we had the beach all to ourselves in this tropical oasis. Carol and Paul were such gracious hosts by opening their casita to us and made everything feel comfortable like we were in our own home with the ocean as our backyard. The people of Zancudo were so kind, thoughtful and heartwarming. We felt like it was our own town by how comfortable we felt as we explored along the river and then a few minutes walk we could be to the ocean. We were in paradise. We went bike riding on the beach one day and another day we saw squirrel monkeys in the front yard. We got to pet a toucan that flew in from the wild. We had Ellie delivered delicious, homemade bread to our front door. We even had fresh produced delivered by Emilio. This was a peaceful getaway in paradise. Thank you Carol and Paul for your sweet home and kind-hearted service. Aloha Keone

“A piece of paradise”

My family and I stayed in Casita Las Palmas for an entire month this past summer and it was the most amazing vacation of our lives. The house is nestled amongst coconut palms and right on the beach. Just steps from the door and you are walking on beautiful soft black sand, the waves softly crashing into shore. The beach is perfect for walking, swimming, and looking for shells. It is not crowded and is absolutely gorgeous. The home itself is very comfortable, and its screened in veranda with rocking chairs is now one of my favorite places in the world. Easy walking distance to two little stores, restaurants, and bars. Twice a week a vegetable truck stops by and you can feast on fresh produce for a very reasonable price. Local fish, milk, cheese, and seafood are also readily available, and the house comes equipped with a kitchen to cook your meals. The people of Zancudo are warm and friendly, and the atmosphere is laid back and relaxing. I highly recommend staying at Casita Las Palmas to anyone looking for a place to feel right at home on the beach. Thanks Carol!

“great stay!”

We came with three people on Santa Semana (Easter Break) for 4 days and wished we had longer. The house is superbly located just steps from an incredible beach and close to a bar, restaurants and a little grocery store. We were able to cook some good meals with food we brought in on the boat from Puerto Jimenez. Elena the caretaker took good care of us. If you want a super relaxing beach vacation with the option of taking some wonderful excursions by boat, the is a fantastic location for you. We would come back again. Loved it! Thanks.

Response from the owner Thanks Gail and friends. So glad you enjoyed our little house in paradise! Please come back to visit!

“Best Vacation Ever!!!”

Reviewed 23 Feb 2012

Two of my best girlfriends and I stayed in this amazing beach house, Casita Las Palmas, last year. We all agreed that it was the best girls trip we had ever had, filled with tons of adventure, and are going to plan a trip back asap! The three of us stayed at Casita Las Palmas for 9 incredible days, but recommend staying at least 2 weeks. Our 9 days went by way too fast. This beach house is conveniently located, and within walking distance of all of the local tiendas, restaurants, bars and anything else you may need on your vacation. While in Zancudo, many of our days were spent lounging in the hammock hung on our front porch, enjoying the beach just feet away from our front door, fishing, and making homemade pina coladas with the coconuts that fell from the trees in our yard. The location of the beach house provides spectacular ocean views, and awesome sunsets that will take your breath away. I feel very fortunate to have had the chance to stay in such an amazing beach house, and in such a magical location. I know anyone who is lucky enough to stay at Casita Las Palmas, will love ? it just as much as we did!!! Feel free to email me any questions you might have on planning your stay in Casita Las Palmas!

Small but very functional beach house. Very peaceful and relaxing. Lots of palm and fruit trees. Perfect location. Excellent service. Would definitely go back there again.

“Tropical Flair With a View”

Reviewed 8 Dec 2011

The Casitas was charming, giving way to beautiful surrounding with awesome sunset views over the Osa. The screened porch area had 2 amazing rocking chairs just the perfect location for morning bird watching, cafe con leche in hand, and catching afternoon breezes from the Golfo Dulce with cocktail in hand. Just steps to the beach for the morning swim and long sunset strolls. Convenient location to restaurants, groceries and bars. Our months stay was truly Pura Vida!
