“Magnifique maison !”

Reviewed 5 May 2015

Merci beaucoup Joyce !

“Casa Manana exceeded all of our expectations. Truly magnificent”

Reviewed 2 Jan 2014

The house and landscaping were amazing. The bedrooms were all comfy. The open living area and kitchen really blew us away. It was so peaceful and beautiful. It was truly magical experience being surrounded by the rain forest and swimming in our own private pool while being able to see monkeys climbing in the trees. Joyce was the best host. From fresh flowers to a fridge full of exotic fruits on our arrival, she made us feel like Casa Manana was home away from home. The quality of the construction of Casa Manana was great. The bathrooms and showers were immaculate. The water that comes out of the tap is so fresh and sweat. Our family can't wait to stay again.

“Love the home and wonderful people of Uvita”

Reviewed 24 Dec 2013

My wife and I plus our 18 year old granddaughter and special needs son of 31 had the most spectrcular vacation time. This home is just spacial, verity special. The fact is we enjoyed the house so much we hung around in the pool a lot. The house is 100% equipped to live in, everything was ready and nothing was missing. The kitchen was great and we cook far more at "home" than we normally would have. Joyce Weisel, the owner, is just an incredible host and a even more incredible person. The home's location is very private,. full fenced and gated, up a good, inn my opinion, rock road on the way to Whales and Dolphins Resort at the top. There are many super nice homes in the area so you are within close approximation to others and only about 3KM to the town of Uvita. The house keeper and her sons live on the property so someone is always around but never seen. If you want to be in the edge of the jungle, with birds, sloths and monkeys with close access to the ocean in a safe, super home, then this is it.

“Comforts of home, in the jungle!”

Reviewed 18 Jul 2013

We loved our whole Costa Rican experience! The house is located in the jungle, but close to town and beaches. The property is extremely well maintained, the house was sparkling clean and upscale - exactly like the pictures. We cooke several meals, and the kitchen was easy to use and all of the appliances worked the way they're supposed to, which is important in the jungle. It did take a couple days to get used to the size and sound of the bugs, and since the living room was outside, there was no escape. If I had very young children, the pool might have made me nervous, but since we travelled with teenagers, we loved it! Joyce is a very easy going hostess, and had lots of good suggestions for restaurants and activities. I would recommend this home for people who want to lay by the pool, or who want to go go go - to the beach, ride horses and atvs in the jungle, etc. There is something for everyone!

“relaxation”

Reviewed 27 Jun 2013

We went to Casa Manana from 6/18 to 6/22 what a wonderful experience. The house was just as it appears in the pictures. The three bedrooms are large with wonderful bathrooms. There were 4 adults and two children and we had plenty of space. Joyce was wonderful and met us the first day with some wonderful banana bread. She had eggs, milk bread and a few other things already at the house so we would not have to rush out to the store. I appreciate Joyce always being there via phone before and during our trip to help us navigate the southern part of Costa Rica. My children swam all day even in the rain. It was wonderful to wake up and have coffee by the pool. I would recommend this house highly. It was safe and clean and Joyce really cares that people enjoy there stay...can't wait to go back :)

“Jungle Paradise”

Reviewed 6 Apr 2013

If you are looking for relaxation and beauty in a remote setting than Casa Manana is the perfect choice. The villa is just as pictured and the owner is as gracious and accommodating in person as she was during the many email exchanges we had prior to the trip. Joyce will happily arrange transport to the villa, recommend local beaches, restaurants, sightseeing options, etc. Our group opted to have massages by the pool and we were not disappointed. Lovely experience in a beautiful setting. Highly recommend that future guests include a visit to Manuel antonio. Amazing beach and surf, friendly locals, and funky beach bars. Wish we had found it sooner than we did. Another must is the beach town of Domenical. Hippy vibe, sarong market, good restaurants. If I had to come up with a downside it would have to be the water problem that occurred the week before our arrival. I am happy to report that full pressure and hot water have been restored. Pura Vida!

“Casa Manana stay”

Reviewed 14 Jan 2013

This property is very well maintained and close to Uvita, beaches, whale tail beach and grocery stores. It is within driving distance to Manuel antonio and Sierpe (starting point for some of the Corcovado tours) We loved our stay there and Joyce is a very accommodating host and worked with us since we had a last minute issue with our travel plans. The house has a open plan for living spaces opening to a pool and patio area and has a fully equipped kitchen, each of the three bedroom has its own spacious attached bath. Joyce was always there to help us when we needed something - make tour reservations, loaning us things we needed if they weren't available like a cooler, rice cooker etc. She is a great hostess and made our stay very enjoyable!

“Wonderful stay”

Reviewed 7 Jan 2013

We stayed six days at Casa Manana and enjoyed a lot. We simply loved the house: its location in the middle of a jungle-beach place, its architectural design with a wide space for recreation, its beautiful decoration, and completeness of its furniture and equipment...All these factors made it possible to have a pleasant stay. The location of the house can't be better. Surrounded by trees and nature, is situated in a very private area, but at just a few minutes from the beaches and grocery stores. This makes your stay more enjoyable as you have all the facilities and amenities that you can possibly need, but in a very peaceful and quiet place. Finally, but actually one of the best things we found here is the wonderful care of Joyce. She was an excellent hostess. She waited until we got to the house and received us with the delicious banana bread she made. The remaining days of our stay, she was always there to help with anything we needed. In summary, our days at Casa Manana were wonderful. Therefore, if you are planning to spend your holidays in a quiet place where you can enjoy the best of nature that Costa Rica has to offer, we recommend Casa Manana. You can be sure that you will love it!

“Incredibly peaceful and beautiful house & surroundings”

Reviewed 21 Oct 2012

I was most eager to stay at Casa Manana after the rave reviews and also after emailing the owner & her very prompt responses. She truly does have an immaculate place with lush surroundings - both natural and her own planted greenery around the house. The photos don't show the 3-D size of the house -- it is actually much longer than the photo shows. Since we were women alone we wanted to ensure we had a secure place. We truly felt safe; the caretaker lives on the grounds and someone was available 24/7 if needed. There were incredible sounds - toucans daily and frogs at night!! One night we heard some big cats scrapping! The jungle comes alive around 5 a.m. Joyce was a most hospitable and helpful hostess - she really puts herself in to making your time there enjoyable & thrives on your satisfaction as a guest! If you are concerned about the place being open & bugs around - never fear -- it is kept very clean ... the bedroom & bathroom doors are always kept closed and nothing was ever seen crawling in there, except the ants which crawl all over Costa Rica!! It was our pleasure to relax here 6 days & enjoy the pool and many lounge chairs available. Oh there's also a washer & dryer & washline - so no need to go home with dirty laundry!! I have rented from many owners in N.American, but this house was the best stocked in everything that I have ever seen!!
