Description

The apartment is on the upper floor of a typical high-ceilinged house in the heart of Cerro Alegre. The building dates from around 1900 and has been entirely redesigned and refurbished.

At a spacious 60 square metres (650 square feet) it is fully equipped with a stylish alerce and granite kitchen, local artwork, wifi access, cable TV and, to top it off, a raised bathtub with views over Valparaíso bay.

The apartment sleeps up to four people comfortably in one split level bedroom with a Queen bed on the mezzanine level and a single bed and double futon on the lower level.

We think it is the perfect place to relax in comfort after a long day exploring the charms of Valparaiso.

The apartment is on fashionable Cerro Alegre. This is Valparaiso's most emblematic hill and is the heart of the old "English quarter" of the city, first settled by wealthy European merchants in the 19th century and characterized by its weird and wonderful bright coloured buildings built in a myriad of architectural styles.

The neighbourhood, while peaceful, is home to most of the city's best restaurants as well as dozens of boutiques, art galleries, museums, cafés and promenades with views over the bay.

A picturesque walk along the hills will lead you to Pablo Neruda's famed house and the open air museum, while the bustle of downtown is only 5 minutes away on foot or via any one of the three funicular railways that link the city centre with our hilltop neighbourhood.

Your host is an expert on travel in Chile, having written several well-known internationally published guidebooks on the country. He has lots of handy tips to help you make the most of your stay in Valparaíso and your travels throughout Chile.
