“Excellent all the way around!”
Bill and Donna were terrific hosts, and the cottage was perfect. Can't say more about both Bill and Donna, they let us use their patio for a small party, and Bill picked us up and took us to the other places we were staying...top notch people and place... Don't forget to ask Bill about a wine selection:) Reasonable and classy
“Warm welcome to a fabulous property in Samara”
We were new to Costa Rica and wanted to be somewhat off the beaten track...enter the hosts for Casita Noche and the magic that is Playa Samara and its side-kick Playa Carillo. Bill's directions to the property are clear and he includes many small points for the journey to Samara. He and his wife Donna are exceptional hosts and will give you a quick tour of the town on arrival. The casita is wonderfully appointed (as others have noted)...it is clean and has everything you would ever need (linens, towels, cooking utensils). We made breakfasts there and the odd dinner; and, with Bill's recommendation of a CR grocery, we were well equipped to cook meals. The walk to the beach is not far; the walk back up will leave you wanting to take a quick dip in the pool. The restaurants in town seem all to be good and, for those of you averse to cooking breakfast there are lots of options including a soda and Lo Que Hay. The whole experience is not to be missed and we will be back to Playa Samara soon...we are hoping that the Casita Noche will be available.
“This is the place. Look no further!”
Gorgeous home, fabulous kitchen, all with high-end finishes and absolutely everything you could want (even beach towels, beach mats, coffee filters, everything!). Possibly the most amazing view in Samara! There are no negatives, not one; and I'm very picky. Easy to find, no 4x4 needed (unless you want to use one in the mountains). The owners will treat you like royalty, or leave you in complete privacy -- your choice. So stop your room/guest-house search right now and book this beautiful custom-built, exclusive home in a gated community. Not stuffy, just bring your flip-flops and shorts! Superb shopping and restaurants very nearby, great beach access. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer to use that chef's kitchen! At twice the price this home would be a great deal. Be warned: it's so great that it does book-up. So reserve without delay. Truly, look no further!
“Wonderful experience in paradise”
With my first email interaction with Bill and Donna, I knew this was the place for us. It was our first vacation with our 1 year old daughter and Bill and Donna were extremely accommodating and welcoming. Bill (Donna was back home for the week we were there) gave us plenty of good recommendations and advice, greeted us with a bottle of wine, and the wonderfully furnished Casita Noche was outfitted with a pack and play and booster seat for our daughter! It was our second time in Samara and we loved it as much as we did the first time. What made it better was our stay at Casita Noche. If you want privacy, an incredible view, yet be close to town, this is your best bet. We found it to be much more convenient to rent a car because we needed the flexibility with our daughter, but otherwise, it would not have been completely necessary. We will be back to Samara again (we have a special connection to the place) and we'd love to stay at Casita Noche again. So will you!
“Our favorite guesthouse during 9 months of travelling”
We (a swiss couple) stayed at Casita Noche for one month. After 9 months of travelling through South- and Centralamerica we were looking for a place to relax befor flying back to Switzerland. We found the perfect place!!! We loved Playa Samara and the beautiful guesthouse so much. The Casita Noche is very modern, clean, well equipped and the view is just fantastic. We felt at home there from the first day on. It's very safe and quiet in this neighborhood. Almost every evening we cooked something in the wellequipped kitchen or we grilled a delicous fish or meat. For us Playa Samara was the perfect place to relax and to learn surfing (the waves are optimal for beginners). The beach of Samara is very beautiful. Bill and Donna are the best hosts we ever met. They are so friendly and helpful and they gave us a lot of good recommendations (restaurants, reliable taxidrivers, supermarkets, surfinstructors and a lot more). We really enjoyed the time with Bill and Donna. We can confirm all the great things that have been written about the Casita Noche and we can highly recommend it! We really want to come back to beautiful Playa Samara and we are sure that we will stay again at Bill and Donna's place - where else?
“A fabulous place to stay!”
We ditto and confirm all the great things that have been written about the Casita. My husband and I stayed there for 2 memorable weeks last month, and we highly recommend it. It's a private, 5-star bungalow situated on a knoll above the main residence overlooking the Pacific. Although there are good restaurants in the area (we especially liked Casa Esmeralda and El Sueno Tropical), we did some cooking in the well-equipped kitchen. The owners did everything to assure our first-class comfort. You'll be delighted, we promise!
“Miguel & K”
My husband and I had the opportunity to spend a glorious week at Casita Noche in June, 2011. We had never been to Costa Rica so we had no idea of what a treat we had in store! The weather was ideal, the food was delicious, and the people were warm and friendly! Costa Rica is a beautiful country with so many wonderful attractions to visit. We toured to countryside, lounged on the beaches, zip-lined through the treetops, and enjoyed seeing the wildlife! Bill and Donna were the perfect host and hostess. They helped make our stay an experience that we will never forget! We would highly reccommend Casita Noche at Samara Beach as your next destination!
“This place rocks!”
Great town, great beaches, great surfing, great restaurants, great bars, great activities, great place to stay, great view, great wine (the owner is a wine distributor), great owners, great attitude! Nothing more needs to be said, that's it!
“Wonderful Place to spend a restful and fun vacation.”
Spectacular vacation getaway in a private gated community with beaufiful view of the pacific. This is a beautiful modern bungalow with gracious and knowledgeable owners. The beaches and restaurants are fabulous and the lots of fun activities including our favorite activity, ziplining through the beautiful forest with views of the pacific.
“A Truly Hidden Gem - Tropical Paradise”
The Samara Guest House is without equal. Having lived in Samara for several years before moving to the U.S., trust us when we say that this is perhaps the most special guest house in all of Samara, if not Guanacaste. It's like your own private tree house with an amazing, panoramic view of Playa Samara. Close enough to the beach for everyday & all day fun, but an easy walk back to the guesthouse to get above the beach for unparalleled views & cool breezes. Everything you could want -- completely furnished, no expense was spared - wifi, a/c, cable t.v. and the most gracious owners/hosts. We've stayed at the world famous Four Seasons Pappagayo/Guanacaste and in many respects, this guesthouse, while very different in cost and activities, was just, if not more, special. We could not recommend this rental more highly.
