We really enjoyed the location of the apartment. It's smack dab in the middle of a lovely night market and not too far from public transportation and walkable areas of interest. The bed was comfy, but unfortunately we stayed during an almost unprecedented cold spell. The apartment only had one space heater, so it was a bit chilly. The host, Roger, did say we could buy whatever we needed for the apartment and he would reimburse us with a receipt. In normal weather, however, maybe one would be enough, so we didn't bother. The internet was not working, but Roger responded promptly and fixed the issue. Roger also helped us set up our phone and came through for us when we had troubles getting our aTM card to work at the airport. Btw, we eventually did get an aTM within walking distance of the apartment to work for us. He was very eager to help us enjoy our stay. We highly recommend and would definitely come back for a stay.
We felt very well looked after by Roger and he seemed to know exactly what we needed advice on. He helped us with our luggage on arrival and gave us a some really useful information about all the things we needed to know about the apartment , the local area and how to get to important places. The apartment itself was fantastic in that it was extremely big and compared with other places we tried, it felt very spacious which suited our family. It was fun living right in the center of the night market, shopping there was fun and the snack treats were just really unique. As well as all this, Roger gave great tips on local restaurants , gym, clothes shopping , bars and more. No complaints. He was a good person to deal with.
the apartment was in a great and convenient location. the night market right downstairs had great food and it was fun to walk around and shop. the apartment was very clean and spacious. roger was very nice and helpful and offered lots of great advice and tips on where to eat and go. when we go back to taipei i would definitely rent from roger again!
Couldn't have stay at a better place. Roger is a great help. abit noisy at night, but that what we wanted.
“Great condo, fascinating location”
Roger was such a wonderful host of this immaculate and beautiful condo. We were so comfortable there. The endlessly interesting day and night market was a delight.
We enjoyed our stay at this apartment. The location is great- very central and only a short walk to the MRT station. Also many food options in the surrounding streets and alleys. The laundry and convenience store downstairs was also very handy. Roger provided very good service when we had troubles with the water temperature and was easily contactable. One quibble would be that although bedding was provided, I would have liked better quality sheets/pillow cases- the existing ones are a bit thread-bare. However, overall, this was a much roomier and cheaper alternative to a hotel room and in an excellent location.
“Spacious and Convenient apartment”
We stayed here for a month (September 8-October 6, 2012) and enjoyed the spaciousness of the apartment, and the conveniece of being right in the night market. The air conditioning was great as the weather was hot and sunny most of the time (another plus). It was just a 15 minute walk to the MRT to travel anywhere you would like, and taxis are always available to be hailed if you would prefer that route. Free wireless internet service was available and that was great for keeping in touch with those at home. It was great to have two bathrooms and a lot of closet space for clothes. The tiled floors are easy to keep clean and cooler in the hot weather. There is a refrigerator, range, microwave, toaster and kettle if you would prefer to stay in the apartment to eat. There is no coffee maker, but the many 7-11 stores nearby take only a few minutes to get to and their coffee is good. Our choice was to eat out most of the time and we only had breakfasts at the apartment. Food is varied and mostly inexpensive; and you are able to purchase raw or cooked foods from the night market as well. All types of restaurant foods are available just a short walk away. All in all, it was a great choice and, if it is available, we would stay there again on our next visit to Taipei.
“A wonderful place to stay”
We spent 10 wonderful days in Taipei. The apartment is clean, comfortable and modern. It has lots of space for our family of four, and we were certainly much more comfortable than cramped together in a hotel room. Excellent showers, pretty good beds, modern air conditioning. The clothes washer is a decided plus for us. Because the apartment is at the heart of the Linjiang night market, we experienced the city as the locals do. The location is central for tourist activities: Taipei 101 is 10 minutes away by foot. Chiang Kai-Shiek Memorial and Sun Yet-Sen Memorial are nearby. The nightmarket right out the door is considered one of the best by locals. Roger is a perfect host. He helped us settled comfortably when we first arrive and was very knowledgeable about local restaurants, many wonderful foods - noodles, dumplings, barbecue, green onion pancake - as well as places to go in the city. We heard market noise within the apartment, but it wasn't loud enough to bother us. The cooking facilities are great, but the nearby restaurants were cheap and delicious so we didn't use them much.
“A very good value!!”
Our family of four (two grown children) stayed here for a week. This apartment building is right in the middle of a famous night market in Taipei. The night market goes from early evening to late night. From early morning to noon, there is the meat and produce market. We enjoyed the market scenes very much, and bought an umbrella in front of our building. If you have a lot of lugagges as we did, it's a little bit hard pulling them through the crowd during the morning market or the night market hours. I you arrive during the afternoon, your taxi/car should be able to stop in front of the building. However, with help from Roger (the owner/manager), we were able to check in without problem. This place has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Considering our situation, the office was converted to the third bedroom. Air conditioning was a life saver, since the temperature outside was around 100°F everyday, and not much cooler during the night during the week we were there. The kitchen has everything we need, except a cofee maker. But there are so much to eat and drink in Taipei, it shouldn't be problem. There is no safe in the property, but according to Roger, he never had/heard any safety/security issue. We never use the washer/dryer, but it will be very useful if we stay longer. Tv was not working the first day, but Roger made every effort making sure it get fixed. Roger mentioned if we need household items, we can buy and get reimbursed with receipts. When we checked in, Roger asked for the USD$350 deposit, which was promptly refunded at check out. Considering the amount we paid and the space we got, this is indeed a very good value! Thank you, Roger!
“Feel at home”
- Roger is a knowledgable man whom provided us with detail information about the surrounding amenities, like supermarket, bank, food stall as I had two girls (1 and 3.5 years) - Cosy place with basic necessities that i need to survive with my family - Location is prime as below is the famous night market (Tonghua night market) that you can find all kinds of food and desserts - I love the foodies and the convenient of the place as also near Taipei 101 and i hate the most is the noise but can bear with that
