“My home in Maine!”

Reviewed 1 Oct 2013

This was our 5th time staying at annie's Outlook and it is about as perfect as you can get. Clean, comfortable, quiet, very well-stocked and an unobstructed ocean & island view beyond words. A gem on the 'quietside', well away from the tourist bustle of Bar Harbor but very convenient to Southwest Harbor's markets and restaurants (which are way better than what you will find in BH). Access to aNP is a short drive away. And after a day of hiking, kayaking or whatever, you can come back to annie's and just relax on the deck or sit down by the shore and watch the lobster boats and maybe catch glimpse of an eagle or porpoise. And on a clear night, it's like being in a planetarium. Trust me; it's perfect.

“Great location, beautiful view, cosy place”

Reviewed 1 Sep 2013

We visited for a week with our kids (9, 12 years) in July, I can only support my Co-reviewers: a most beautiful location, the sea at your feet, a spectacular sight with sunsets and rocks for kids to climb, with love, taste and insight prepared surroundings (find a bench/picknic table at the places you like to sit), a cosy, clean place, with all you need to feel comfortable, kind people meeting your needs/wishes whereever possible, lots of interesting things to do (hikes, biking, whale watching) in close distance.

“What a memorable vacation!”

From the minute we drove up to annie's Outlook we knew this would be a memorable vacation. From the cozy living room with great views of the bay, to the deck where we would sit and enjoy the warm fall days, watch the bald eagle fly overhead, the beautiful sunsets and amazing star gazing, this was everything we hoped for and more. The peaceful setting and quiet location was the ideal place to relax after a day of hiking and sightseeing. We've already re-booked for next year and are looking forward to making future stays here a family tradition for years to come.

“Peaceful, bright and comfortable”

Our stay at annie's Outlook was wonderful! The cottage is full of light - cathedral ceiling with a skylight, ceiling fan and new windows. The kitchen is very well stocked, with more than enough dishware, pots, pans, etc. The nights are very peaceful and quiet, and the bed is very comfortable. And the view is magnificent - triple patio doors off the deck and nothing but grass between us and the shore. A bald eagle made several appearances, as did a harbor seal. Beautiful sunsets were followed by an amazing number of stars in the night sky. We enjoyed a week of perfect weather, and explored acadia via drives, hikes, sails, and many ranger-led activities. All in all, a vacation we will always remember!

“Great view!”

Annie's Outlook had everything we needed for a lovely week in Maine. The kitchen was stocked and we cooked every day. The sunsets were amazing looking out on the bay. It was very quiet and perfect for our vacation.

“Wonderul cottage with gorgeous sunsets & view of blue hill bay”

Annie's was clean, private and very comfortable. The kitchen was well equiped with a gas stove and we used the gas grill outside several time during the week. We could drive to any place on Mt Desert Island in 35 minutes. Robin,Virginia's daughter, was so helpful to suggest best places to hike close by and to provide maps to help us find our way. It was a dream location for us.

“Quiet, quaint, and beautiful”

Our stay at annie's was perfect in every way. And what a view of the Cove, Bay, and Ocean! We'll be back.
