Private country setting with mountain views just 5 miles northwest of Bend.
This 12 year old home sits on 20 acres of open juniper and pine forest, surrounded by other large, open tracks of land. The setting is lovely and private - like your own, private park with a house in the middle of it! And, it's remarkably peaceful despite being so close to Bend.
The house is open, light, comfortable and fully furnished with good beds, comfortable linens and seating around the fireplace in the great room. The fully stocked kitchen is open to the great room and dining area, with views out into the back meadow.
Wander on the land or enjoy it from one of the three decks. Read or watch movies in the great room (there's Dish TV and a DVD Player), enjoy a glass of wine on the terrace in front of the large outdoor fireplace, or soak it all in from the hot tub. Then, sleep well at the end of the day in comfortable linens surrounded by the peace and quite. This is a great place to vacation!

“Perfect in every way!”
Tumalo Pines has everything you need to relax to the fullest. Beautiful scenery, great house with a wonderful outdoor fireplace. The hot tub is the perfect end to a perfect day! I would stay here again.
“Wonderful Week at Tumalo Pines”
Doug, We returned home to the Chicago area late last night from our wonderful week in Bend. It is hard to imagine how the week could have been nicer. We were close to everything we wanted to do (including attending a wedding) but far enough to feel the peace and quiet at your beautiful house and property. The house was clean and included everything we needed. The start to each day was just sitting outside with a cup of coffee and a book, and then planning the outdoor activities for the day. The end of the day included amazing star gazing and the sounds of the night. Thank you again.
“Great place to stay!”
We had a great time, the place was clean, quiet and beyond our expectations. We would absolutely rent this house again! Can't say enough positive things about this house!
This house is absolutely perfect. We loved the land around the house, the outdoor fireplace, and spa. The house was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The owners are very professional and made all arrangements easy. We will come again and again.
“Great location, beautiful corner of the Cascades!”
This home was just perfect for our group of 3 couples who get together each year for some some fun in the mountains. We love backcountry ski touring, cycling, trail running, campfires, and breweries - and Bend has it all! The outdoor fireplace and hot tub made a perfect place to unwind after a long day in the mountains, and the location of this home was very convenient to either head into town, up to the mountains, or just step out the door for miles of road to explore on the run or bike. Each of the 3 bedrooms were cozy and comfortable, and we made good use of the well appointed kitchen and barbecue for home cooked meals. We went into town a couple of nights to sample some of the many microbreweries - 10 Barrel and Good Life being two of our favorites. From the common location at the base of Mt. Bachelor, our group was able to xc ski, backcountry skin up to Broken Top/Sisters Wilderness, or downhill ski, and then meet back up at the end of the day without any hassle. The owner was very helpful in answering our questions and represented the property accurately. We would without hesitation stay at Tumalo Pines again!
“Little Piece of Paradise!”
We booked this place for our annual girls trip and loved that it sat on 20 acres and felt like you were 50 miles from anyone, yet Bend is a beautiful short 4-5 mile drive. On our last day we drove into Bend & discovered a beautiful park on the way that we didn't even know was there! There was only 4 girls this year & it was a perfect # for this house. We could have done 2 more girls (2 people per bedroom), but this gave us more space. The home was very warm & inviting, beds super comfy! The stars & moon were amazing as we sat in the hot tub late into the night! The outdoor fireplace/patio & large deck was perfect for outdoor entertaining/dancing! We cranked up the music & didn't have to worry about offending anyone, which was wonderful!! The indoor fireplace was awesome when too cold outside. Kitchen was well stocked w/everything you need. Birdfeeders outside kitchen window attracted beautiful birds! Loved the large dining table w/bench seating. We walked the property one evening, w/drinks in hand, and as the sun was setting and it was so beautiful out. It was a different setting than we normally do but we all loved the rural feel. We hiked one day at Smith Rock (about 30 min away), and horsebacked at the horse stables about 3 min away..(turn right out of the driveway & its about 3 min down the road on the left side). $75 for 2 hr ride...nice people too. Overall this home is a wonderful escape. We didn't feel the need to go into Bend as we had everything we needed. Next time we will spend a full day in Bend as it has so many things to see & do, plus some wonderful shopping! Thank you for sharing your home with us! We hope to be back one day soon!
