“Utterly relaxing holiday in a delightful gite”
Just back from two weeks here. Had a lovely time from start to finish. Will and Karen couldn't have been more accommodating - even bringing us their daughters' toys for our girls to play with, when they had lost interest in their own. Really stylish gite. Lovely pool. Idyllic setting. Miles from anyone or anything. Incredibly helpful and friendly owners.
“Great location; great host; great gite.”
We would highly recommend the Mutley Gite. We found the location to be ideal -- close to both Toulouse and Carcassonne, yet in the countryside so we could enjoy tranquil walks with our kids. Will was an incredible host, offering great advice when asked. And we loved the design of the gite with its unique mix of modern and historic elements -- the bed in the master bedroom is not to be missed! The gite was also very well appointed. Loved our time at Chateau de Montoussel.
“A wonderful holiday”
Superb accommodation in beautiful surroundings with wonderful views. A very warm welcome by extremely helpful hosts and their family who ensured our time was memorable, No detail was too small, including buying food for our arrival, a delicious cake for a seventieth birthday celebration as well as ferrying us to and from an excellent local restaurant. No-one could ask for more. This will be a holiday we both will remember. I have no hesitation in recommending this gite to our friends. It was very special, thanks to the care and attention Will and his family gives to this enterprise.
“Great place to stay! Highly recommended!”
My wife, 9 y.o. daughter and I stayed in the Mutley Gite (June of 2012) and were very impressed with the facilities, the surroundings, and the friendly reception and service we got from Will and Karen. The gite was immaculate, very well furnished, and very comfortable--it was like being home as soon as we walked in the door. When I ordered a hamper for our arrival, Will offered to pick up other grocery items we may need, so I sent him a list of items, which were all waiting for us on arrival--and will got good value for our Euro! On one of our early days, which was also rainy, we stayed in most of the day to catch up on rest(5 hour time difference for us), and later in the day, Will and his daughter checked in on us to make sure we were okay, and brought over some board games to make sure we had something to do. The reception and service during our stay was warm and friendly, but unobtrusive. As another reviewer mentioned, we felt well looked after, but left to our own devices. Anything we needed was quickly responded to, although there wasn't a whole lot needed that wasn't already in the gite. We used the pool, which was very nice and clean, just about every day. As there were no other renters during our stay, we had it all to ourselves. The surroundings are very nice, and peaceful. A short 20 minutes from the outskirts of Toulouse, and about 45 minutes from Carcassonne, which is a great place to spend the day. We visited the market in Revel (about 20 mins away), which was great. We also took short jaunts to various small villages/towns in the surroundings, just to walk around and take in the sights. All in all, a great place to stay, and very friendly and professional hosts! Kudos! Job well done. Sam
“Just what the doctor ordered!”
My friends and I have demanding jobs and busy lives. We arrived in sore need of rest and relaxation without any external demands on our time. We couldn't have found a better place to recharge our batteries. The Gite was beautifully presented and the outlook was fabulous. What a view to wake up to every morning. We quickly settled into a routine of leisurely rising, exploring the local towns and villages in the morning/early afternoon and returning in the afternoon to sit by the pool with our books, or just to enjoy the sun and in the evenings after supper we usually went for a walk in the lovely countryside. Will and Karen were lovely and friendly, but were the perfect landlords - there if we needed them, but otherwise we were left to ourselves. We had such a fantastic break, we have booked again for the same week next year - can't wait!
“A great place to relax and soak up the French countryside”
We had the most perfect week staying in the beautiful and tastefully renovated Mutley gites. Stunning views across the French countryside, and an incredibly peaceful place to relax and rest. Bbqs in the evening and lovely breakfasts out on the decking in the morning. A pool close by to cool off after a days sight seeing.
