“This one ticks all the boxes great place stay and great value”

Cate was a host who performed helpful tasks way above that is normally required, our memories of "The Garden Suite" will remain forever and hope to book to stay once again in 2 years time. The suite was perfect everything you need in a beautiful quiet street and a big plus transport close by "just perfect" for our 3 week stay

Nous sommes ravis d'avoir trouvé cette location. Cate est une personne charmante prête à vous rendre service et qui vous donne des conseils judicieux. Son appartement se trouve au sous-sol à l'arrière de sa maison mais vu le dénivelé, vous vous trouvez en fait en rez-de-jardin. L'accès est indépendant et peut se faire par l'arrière de la maison, par une cour où vous pouvez garer votre véhicule et aussi profiter du soleil. L'endroit est calme, même si on peut entendre un peu le plancher grincer au-dessus lorsque les habitants se déplacent, comme ce sont les mêmes horaires que les vôtres, ça n'est absolument pas dérangeant. Le lit est confortable, l'aménagement est parfait, vous trouvez tout le nécessaire pour cuisiner (batterie de cuisine, four, micro-ondes, lave-vaisselle avec les produits de lavage, ainsi que les éléments de base pour la cuisine (sel, huile...). Le linge de toilette est très moelleux. Vous avez accès au sous-sol commun où se trouvent la machine à laver et le sèche-linge gratuits. Le bus est à l'angle de la rue et en 5 mn vous arrivez au Sky train qui vous dépose en moins de 20mn à la station Waterfront tout près de la promenade le long de la mer. En résumé, un très bon endroit où séjourner.

We were delighted with our stay. Cate is such an accommodating hostess. Pluses: -Spotlessly clean, -the reasonable rate allowed us to enjoy more of Vancouver, -felt safe, our car felt safe too! No minuses. Good job Cate!!

My first time using flipkey, so I was apprehensive, but the Garden Suite turned out to be even better than I expected - incredible value, fantastic location, awesome suite, great service! The beautiful cherry trees were in full bloom along the quiet residential street (it is a bikeway, so saw more bikes than cars) when we arrived. The suite was spotlessly clean, looked better and was more spacious than the photos showed. We were a family of five (5 month, 3 yo, 5yo) and managed a rainy afternoon or two inside without feeling overly cramped. The queen bed was the most comfortable of our trip. Wonderful thick bath towels. The kitchen was equipped with everything you would need to make a meal. It was also great for us to bring home takeout when the kids were too giddy for restaurants. On site laundry was a big help traveling with kids. The local phone was great, the wireless internet was excellent (15 Mbps DL / 2.84 Mbps UL) with a little desk in the bedroom that was perfect for a laptop. Everything was within walking distance: bus stops on Broadway around the corner, a park with playground a little down 10th, the VCC (10 min) or Commercial Skytrain (15min) stations a pleasant walk. Shopping and restaurants on Commercial, another shopping/restaurant hub to the west at Broadway/Main/Kingsway. Touristy stuff was all in easy reach by transit. Cate was absolutely wonderful. Always promptly returning emails, great for suggestions on activities, shopping, or restaurants. Offered to shuttle our luggage from the Skytrain on arrival. I broke my booklight in transit, she quickly took me over to meet the handy neighbour who helped fix it (glue is still holding BTW). Overall, we couldn't be happier with our stay in the Garden Suite. It was so much nicer and a fraction of the price of hotels we looked at booking in Vancouver. Would definitely stay again, are already recommending it to friends and family.

Attention to detail. This is what Cate is all about. We have stayed in many self-catered apartments but have never experienced accommodation wherein all of the small things, which make a difference in feeling like you are at your home away from home, were at your fingertips. Cate's hospitality and generosity are outstanding. Although we never met, we felt comfortable in chatting with Cate via e-mail and appreciated her always prompt responses. She actually wrote to us while travelling in Paris to ensure that all was well. Imagine! Everything in the apartment works beautifully and is set-up for those who like to read or need that little extra lighting. The separate bedroom is generous in size and has a convenient "workstation” which my husband absconded immediately. Plugs are everywhere and convenience is evident in how the apartment is laid out and in the furniture arrangement. Let's not forget the wonderfully thick and thirsty towels that await you, including a bath sheet size which often is not found, except in five-star hotels. The washer and dryer are conveniently just outside your door, as are all the laundry/cleaning supplies you could want. Basic condiments are kept so you don't have to shop for such items as salt, pepper, and sugar, tea, etc. The convenience of a local phone is a bonus and the wireless internet access worked without a hitch. The location is convenient to transportation yet in a quiet, residential area. Local buses are two blocks north on E. Broadway and a short walk of less than 15 minutes east takes you to the Skytrain and the shopping district on Commercial (The Drive). Within 30 minutes, or less, you are in the downtown area and near most of the tourist sites. With the cost of lodging having skyrocketed in Vancouver since we were last here, Cate's accommodation offers good value, comfort, and a feeling of staying with a friend who knows how to take care of all of your need.

helpful without being intrusive. Very clean, photos do not do suite justice. Bed very comfy, plenty of space. 5 minutes from Vancouver Sky train which gets you into downtown Vancouver in about ten minutes. Excellent

The suite is well-located on a quiet street with easy access to public transport, delivering the visitor to many of Vancouver's best destinations. It is extremely comfortable with every amenity one could want. The owner is extremely helpful, without being intrusive.
