“A little bit of heaven”
Our short stay at Shady Lane was so great. We arrived late but were made so welcome by Ian and his beautiful wife Pam that we felt we were coming to a family home..Beautiful rooms with comfy bes..very private with all you need..Breakfast in this home kept me going till supper..super..We highly recmend Shady Lane B&B; and will return if we ever go back to PEI...Thank you again Ian & Pam
We stayed at Shady Lane 2 nights in late July 2013. We felt welcomed at this home and the room was large and beds very, very comfortable. The breakfast was very good and I was lucky to have a recipe shared with me
Response from the owner Mant thanks Bonnie and Lloyd for thinking of us, and writing a review. We really appreciate the feedback since it helps us to grow our business. Ian and Pam.
“Perfect location & amazing hosts!”
We spent 3 days at Shady Lanes and we will definitely be back! Its location was perfect! Just off the beaten path, it offered my partner and I both a quiet resting spot, and a convenient jump off point for activities and delicious meals. The guest den complete with tourist information, hammock, fire pit, and outdoor shower, are just a few of the gems that add to the ambience of Shady Lanes. Inside, the island's warmth is felt in the comfortable common areas that include a library of wonderful books, fun games, a piano and a cozy fireplace. What makes it truly stand out though is the amazing care to detail provided by the hosts Ian and Pam. They provided gourmet breakfasts, unique travels tips, friendly conversation, and assistance with booking local activities such as golf tee-off times. If you like to kayak, bike, golf or are a fan of locally made arts and crafts, we highly recommend this as a must while in PEI. In order to take in all that this area has to offer at least 3 nights is needed. During our two nights we were able to visit the gorgeous nearby beach, bike the Confederation Trail, explore Grenwich National Park, check out some local shops and try out some local cuisine. There was still so much to see and do!
Response from the owner Katie, Thank you for the rave review, we really appreciate you taking the time to give your thoughts. Come back and see us soon! Ian and Pam.
“What a Lovely Place to Stay”
Our stay with Pam and Ian Rowe at their Shady Lane B & B was just a delightful experience from beginning to end. When you drive down that shady lane to their beautiful home, you receive a warm and friendly welcome and immediately feel at home. Their home is surrounded by shady trees, lush green lawns and beautiful flowers. It has lovely rooms tastefully decorated and filled with the many treasures they have collected over the years. The bedrooms are cozy and comfortable and you are assured of a quiet and peaceful rest. The location is ideal for guests to visit throughout the surrounding area, whether visiting the nearby beach or beyond. Pam and Ian go "above and beyond" in providing service to their guests. They are attentive hosts and provide all the "little touches" to make their guests feel special. But most memorable of all are the delicious breakfasts, always starting with a special fruit bowl followed by an assortment of their tasty "culinary delights" fit for royalty. We highly recommend Shady Lane B & B for a most unique and pleasant experience.
Response from the owner Thanek you Janice and Harry for your very generous comments. We try to provide an experience that we would be happy to have when we travel. Ian and Pam.
“Bed and breakfast, bikes and beaches”
Beautifully appointed home with lots of space and all the modern conveniences of home. Biking the area was scenic and safe. The beach was gorgeous. Ian and Pam are gracious hosts.
Response from the owner Thanks Tom and Deb. We enjoyed your company, and hope you will come and see us when next you visit the "Gentle Island". Ian and Pam.
“Bien sutué avec des hôtes très agréables.”
Bel endroit avec vue sur la baie de St-Peter's. La chambre est grande avec toutes les commoditées. Il y a une vaste salle de séjour avec tout le confort désiré.
“a wonderful experiance for our first trip to P.E.I.”
As my husbands first B and B experiance it couldn;t have been nicer. The quiet location with ocean and lighthouse views was great . The food was fresh and all homemade with local ingrediants. We especially enjoyed our hosts and sharing conversations of holiday stories with them. Overall those first two days on the island was a wonderful way to start our trip
“This B & B is in a categoy by itself: beautiful home, loveingly”
First, you must understand that we don't like B & B's. Most of them have tiny rooms with aging furniture and are cluttered and uncomfortable. We stayer at Shady Lane only because we couldn't find anything else in the area. What a wonderful surprise. The delightful hosts have built a charming home, exquisitely furnished and in a secluded and quiet location. Guest rooms are spacious and really lovely. Breakfast was imaginative and super-delicious. The hosts also have a lovely relaxing room just for guests, and offer their lovely patio to guests as well. They changed my attitude toward B & B's.
“Just like the home you wish you got breakfast in all the time...”
Right from the time of my booking with Ian and Pam, I knew that the service was going to be attentive and comfortable. My trip was a father and son get away to golf and take in a little beach time. The location of the B&B; is optimal if you plan to play Crowbush (5 minute drive) and Dunadrave/Brudenelle (20 minutes). If you want a world class beach and to not have to climb over top of people to stake out your patch of sand, 2 minutes down the lane is a great beach or 15 minutes down the road is Greenwich National Park. Our room was totally comfortable and there was also a generous common room for reading, watching satellite flat screen TV or catching up on emails (wireless internet). The breakfasts are fantastic! Ian mans the cook top and Pam is an expert with baking breads, muffins etc. Pam and Ian are fabulous hosts and will ensure that you are well taken care of. Enjoy.
“Exquisite gem hidden away”
We drove to PEI & were not sure where we would be staying. We didnt expect to travel through the island and down a little lane and come across a beautiful home. We were excited immediately. We were met immediately and shown around this beautifully decorated new home - everything so tasteful. A kitchen i have wanted all my life made me realise some superb meals would be served .. and we were not disappointed. We spent 4 nights at Shady Lane and couldnt believe our luck in finding this B&B.; It surely must be the islands best kept secret. Fabulous hosts that were fun, entertaining and delightful. The highlight of our summer holiday!
