The villa was built , in the park of the Franco Alfano’s old property, famous orchestra conductor, who had finished Puccini’s “Turandot” left incomplete by the author. The apartment, although being close to the centre is located in a quiet residential area with few traffic and is surrounded by a Mediterranean garden. Ancient palms, mimosas and pepper trees stand out around the house. Roses and cicas enrich the lawns. You can dine outdoors under the portico of main entrance almost all year. San Remo is known for its mild climate during the winter months. The position of this property is particularly good as it’s completely sheltered from the wind.

Some historical facts:

Sanremo was discovered in late 1800 by noble British families who used to spend winter months in this piece of paradise. Thanks to Giovanni Ruffini’s novel “Dr. Antonio” this place, situated on the Ligurian Coast became known to a greater public. Giovanni Ruffini was an Italian patriot exiled in London. The novel is about a love story between Lucy (English) and Dr. Antonio (Italian) where the author described in a marvellous way the mild climate of Riviera and the most fascinating corners of this area. That’s why you can still find in San Remo, Bordighera, Ospedaletti and Taggia the remains of numerous English houses that were built between the 1800s and in end of the thirties of the last century. There is one of the most hilly and fabulous streets in San Remo, avenue of Inglesi, which was called like that in remembrance of the numerous English houses that were situated along it. Today Sanremo is a famous Italian tourist resort also famous for its world known Music Festival, for its climate and wonderful position. The genuine places of hinterland are also worth visiting. Villages as Triora, Carpasio, Bajardo, Pigna, Apricale and Seborga described by Ruffini have kept intact the charm of this world, which unfortunately was lost along the coast. You should not forget that you can get to the Principality of Monaco in just 25 km and the Nice International Airport in only 55 km.
