“Great Family Reunion”
We had our family Ski reunion at Diamond Hitch. We were 18 people ranging from 7 months to 70 years old. The house is large, well equipment, nicely maintained with direct access to the ski slopes. The kitchen was fully supplied with cooking utensils, glasses, and plates for 18 people. We had plenty of room on the great room / dining area / kitchen for everyone. The House had play pens, child fences and child seats available. The heated large two- plus car garage provided a great place to gear up. The “boot dryer” is an industrial designed air circulation system that easily dried everyone’s boots and gloves simultaneously. Plenty of hooks to hang ski clothes to dry at night. We purchased most our food for the week in Bozeman when we arrived. With only one refrigerator, things were tight for the first half of the week. We need to store drinks (beer, wine, Gatorade etc) outside. We were worried about animals, but no problems. FYI, the employee dormitory will gladly accept any unused food or supplies when you leave. The hot tub, steam room and sauna worked well and were enjoyed daily after skiing. The heated tile floors in the bathrooms were a real treat in the morning. Beth, the property manager, was very helpful before and during our stay. It snowed 4 of our 7 days. The driveway was plowed immediately and the Resort’s Snow Cats even groomed up to the house for easy access to the trail. The rental company was great with communications and answered all our questions. Everyone had a great time and we will return again next year.
“Great ski in ski out location”
Just want to thank Ellen and Lisa at Russell Mace rentals, we had a wonderful time we had at the Diamond Hitch residence. Took us awhile to find the house but once we did we had no problem traveling around the area. Great house with many bedrooms and individual beds. The hot tub, steam room and sauna were well worth using after skiing all day. Large kitchen with huge dining table easily accommodated our group of 8 for breakfast and dinner. • The temperature in the house was hard to control. Downstairs was cold, main floor just right and upstairs the guys complained it was too hot. Great mountain to ski, no lines and big wide open slopes for cruising. Highlight was driving to West Yellowstone and snowmobiling to "Old Faithful".
Response from the owner Thank you for staying at our Diamond Hitch home. We apologize for temperature controlling issues during your stay. Thank you for bring in this to our attention. The problem has been resolved. Thanks again for staying with us and we hope you return so we can better serve you on your next visit to our Ski in Ski out Diamond Hitch home.
The house was beautiful: clean and very well appointed. There was plenty of room to spread out and relax. The location was absolutely beautiful and very convenient to get to town and Yellowstone.
“Something for every age in a gorgeous location”
We enjoyed our stay in every way possible from watching a bear trying to get into the trash to the scenery which surrounded us at every turn. The home is beautiful with every convenience. Our youngest of three generations loved the hot tub and movie theater. Our children felt that they had privacy and fished and rafted during the day. My wife and I relaxed and went down to Yellowstone several times. The home was clean and well equiped - it exceeded our expectations.
“Spoiled Us Forever!”
We spent a week at this marvelous home and could not have had a better time. The home was spacious enough to provide privacy for 5 couples and a lot of comfortable group gathering spaces. Many luxurious touches added to our vacation experience: hot tub, wet and dry saunas, home theater, well-stocked kitchen that included a variety of cookware not usually found in rental properties, and great ski amenities including boot and glove dryer, lots of room with benches for getting ready to ski, heavy duty non-slip mats for walking in ski boots, and ski access within steps of the back door. In addition, the decor included ski equipment from years past, which provided a nostalgic look at the sport. Our group was in complete agreement that this is definitely the way to take a ski vacation!
“A private ski lodge”
Huge house well-designed for a big group. Lots of smart amenities, from ski entrance and boot racks in garage to a fabulous steam room.
Had a wonderful time with some amazing skiing. Ski in and out is definitely the way to go. The house was well equipped and had plenty of social space. Ok, maybe could do with a better coffee machine but that is minor. Also stayed at Jim's house in Jackson also wonderful but I really enjoyed no lift lines at Big Sky. Definitely will stay here again. Cheers and thanks for the wonderful hospitality Jim, all the best.
“Extraordinary in every way!”
There was a mountain view from every window! It was quiet and spacious. The kitchen had good equipment, the only thing we didn't have was a lemon juicer :-) The movie room was used by the teens and also the adults when we weren't busy hiking, rafting,or horse back riding. Everything was within 20 to 30 minute distance. The trail maps were very helpful and easy to follow! We absolutely loved the location and the house! It's the best we've stayed in and we've been doing this 11 years. The "welcome" gifts of fruit, cheese and crackers and cookies were very special. We've never had these before either, and they made us feel like the management really cared about our visit! The only draw back we found was no blinds on the windows. With the sky getting dark after 10 p.m. and light beginning at 4:30 or so, it made longer sleep almost impossible. Room darkening shades would not be that expensive. Please, everything else is of such high quality!!! Congrats to the home owner!
“I Didn't Want to Go Home!”
Once again, I had a great time at the Diamond Hitch house. It was warm and comfortable, and the view was spectacular. Better still, it was wonderfully quiet.
“An incredible property with million dollar views”
I've stayed in this property 3 or 4 times and it is by far one of the best ski-in/out properties in the american Rockies. My wife and I have rented similar properties in Vail, Aspen, ParkCity, Whistler BC, Breck, the list goes on... If you haven't skied Big Sky yet, you should! And this is "the" place to stay. Have a glass of wine for us in the hot tub!
