“We had a wonderful time in Mexico and villa areccife played a bi”

Reviewed 27 Sep 2012

We stayed at the villa areccife for a week in November of 2012. I am not a resort fan therefore we've rented a lot of houses in different places. And this is one of the best. It is a new, modern, well-appointed, well-equipped house. It had everything we needed. It is located in the residential part of the resort. When we stayed there only a few houses were built making the villa private and quite place. The villa staff is very nice and helpful. On our arrival despite the late hours (around 8PM) we were greeted by alex Estrella a villa manager, who also works at the resort. When we arrived at the Cancun airport late afternoon even though I reserved a car at Herz, thinking it is a respectable car rental company, there were no cars available. We had to take a taxi to the villa. Next morning alex drove my husband to a car rental place. Whenever we had problems with the villa alex was always available to deal with them. The housekeeper Diana was at the villa every day (even on Sunday) making it sparkling clean. We had a wonderful time in Mexico and villa areccife played a big role in it.

Response from the owner We hope to see you return again this November! Warm regards, Tamara, Greg, India and Devon

“A luxury retreat.”

Reviewed 7 May 2012

Situated in a wonderfully peaceful location, this beautiful spacious villa is a real retreat. It was such a relaxing stay where everything was take care of. Daily swimming in the totally private pool was idealic. Surrounded by the lush shrubs and trees, watching and listening to the colorful birds was one of my favorite times of the day. The roof top is just sublime, relaxing in hammocks with a gentle breeze. It is so good to unwind with friends or by yourself and get away from the hustle and bustle. Its also a great gathering place at the villa. You are also close to beautiful beaches and there are so many fun and interesting day trips to make from snorkeling in the pretty lagoons or diving excusions, to shopping in Playa-del-Carmen. Also, many adventurous activities are available nearby too for thrill seekers. I would recommend this villa to families and groups of friends as it really accomodates every need. It was an introduction to the Mayan Riviera for me and a trip I'll remember very fondly, I would love to return.

“Fantastic Girls Getaway!”

We spent a week at this amazing villa. It is beautiful, exceptionally clean and well appointed. The service staff is fantastic; leaving the villa sparkling everyday. The Hydrotherapy Spa at the nearby Grand Sirenis Resort is a must! The beach at akumal Bay is beautiful and the night life in Playa del Carmen is fantastic. The villa is the perfect mix of relaxation and activity. If your looking for beautiful accommodations in a private location with plenty of excursions at your fingertips; this is the ideal villa! 5 stars all around.

“Family and Friends March Break 2012”

Reviewed 20 Mar 2012

The service was fantastic by the owner and staff on site. The home was beautiful and more then we could have hoped for. Our own private pool was wonderful for everyone in our party. It is a little drive from the airport, but unless you are staying in a spot overrun by tourists, you must drive a little. The public beach in akumal was an amazing place to snorkel, and the Lo-Ha restaurant at the same beach was amazing. The ruins of Coba are well worth the drive- be sure to get the guided tour and bikes, well worth the little extra money. Explor was a great day of fun and adventure. A little pricy, but well worth it. The cost of a self guided tour and snorkelling adventure in the ruins of Tullum were not worth the time or money. Do both, but separate.

“fantastic”

we spent a fabulous week at Villa arrecife. It is a beautiful Villa with everything that you need. The decor is fabulous through out the Villa. There were 9 of us and we had plenty of room. On the roof you can relax in one of many hammocks and look at the stars at night. The view from the top is amazing. The kitchen has everything you need, plus a great barbecue outside by the pool. The pool is perfect for children especially as it is one level of 4 ft. The Villa is approx. 1 hour south of Cancun just off the main highway. Easy to get to. Beaches are close by. You can walk or drive. Akumal Beach is down the road. Again, beautiful. There are restaurants on akumal Beach. There is maid service which is a1. Also, the beds are extremely comfortable. All in all, we had a great time at Villa arrecife and would go back in a heartbeat.

“Sun, Sand and Relaxation”

Reviewed 9 Sep 2011

Our stay at Villa arrecife was absolutely amazing!! The Villa is so beautiful and inviting, it felt like home. It was lovely sitting on the rooftop terrace at night enjoying the breeze off the ocean. We spent hours swimming or just floating around the pool, it was very relaxing. My family and I had a wonderful time exploring the Ruins in Tulum, wandering the lively streets of Playa del Carmen and swimming with the dolphins at Dolphin Discovery. The Grand Siren resort was wonderful and we enjoyed all it has to offer. We look forward to our next holiday at Villa arrecife!!

“Spectacular Vacation!”

Reviewed 8 Sep 2011

Villa arrecife is a place that you will want to return to over and over. The view on top of the roof is breathtaking. On a clear day you can see for miles and on a clear night the stars go on forever. We spent two glorious weeks there. The accommodations are superior. All the appliances are brand new and well kept. Villa arrecife has its own water filter system, so no worries about drinking the water. The Chedraui (grocery store) is close, ten minutes by car. Akamul beach is fantastic. It's about five minutes by vehicle and worth spending some time there. Also, they have a couple of good restaurants there as well. Lo Ha is one and the other is La Buena Vida. They have a Lagoon in akamul, where the snorkelling is great. There are lots of coral and fish to see. One thing we would do next time is bring our own snorkel sets. You really do use them a lot. Aktun Chen is close by. That was awesome they have some beautiful caves and cenotes that we toured. Not overly expensive. If you plan to go there, make sure you go early, around 10:00 am. After that time it starts to get busy. Tulum has some ruins that are something to see. Again, go early it can get very crowded with bus tours. Playa Del Carmen is approximately thirty minutes away. It has some great restaurants and Clubs if you want a night out. Our children took advantage of the kids club at the Grand Sirenis Resort. They had a blast! Staff is excellent with kids. My children would have gone everyday if we let them. The pool at Villa arrecife is so beautiful. We spent a lot of time cooling off in it. Usually after returning from tours or walks from the ocean. We highly recommend this villa to rent. It's a place that we hope to return to soon. Kathy & Andrew Philip
