“A comfortable and relaxing enviornment. Better than home.”
My decision to stay at Casa Caribe made my vacation an overwhelming success. Arriving with a preconception that it was a smaller fishing village with a few fancy resorts, I looked forward to good eating, diving the reef and perhaps touring some local sites in less-bustling surroundings than Cancun. The day I walked into Casa Caribe, Catriona greeted me with a warm and welcoming smile, gave me a quick tour of the grounds and showed me to my room. The room was absolutely immaculate in every way. The photos on the website are completely accurate. Casa Caribe is located one block from the beach but what you can't see is that there are no buildings between your room and the beach so you have a completely unobstructed view of the ocean and the sound of the waves will lull you to sleep at night. I slept like a baby. A tiled patio leads to perfectly manicured grounds and out through the entrance. It's obvious she put a lot of thought and care into creating a comfortable atmosphere for her guests. Frankly, the patio area is so nice; it reminded me of some of the nicer Italian homes and gardens in Italy. The Little Mexican Cooking School: Resident Chef Pablo teaches authentic Mexican cuisine from their demonstration kitchen. He's very well trained and experienced yet completely relaxed and approachable. Catriona gave mini-seminars between classes on the origins of Chocolate and Tequila appreciation. Who wouldn't like that?!?! The best part is, you get to eat and drink what you've learned! The real bonus: Catriona Brown has been living in Puerto Morelos for over ten years. She speaks both English and Spanish. She knows everyone and everything about the area. She saved me days of time I would have otherwise spent searching for good food, a good diving instructor and advice on things going on around town. She is much more like a friend than a business owner and the fact that she loves what she does shines through.
“Relaxing and zen experience”
Location is perfect. Walkable distance to the centre of Puerto Morelos, and very peaceful, quiet. Fridge with freezer much appreciated for ice with your drinks! Hamac on balcony with view of the ocean. Beautiful room and clean too! Enjoyed every moment of my week-stay.
Casa Caribe is a great little B&B; where we very happily stayed for 5 nights. Cat, the owner, has thought about just about everything to make the place beautiful, comfortable and friendly. Wish we could have been there on holiday and not for a meeting!! Check out the Casa Caribe website: it's got loads of useful information and it's the best place to make your booking (direct to owner, rather than through booking.com)
“Tranquil and heavenly respite from the cold Northern winter.”
My husband and I have been coming to Casa Caribe for several years. We always take the same corner room, because we find it the perfect place to sit on the balcony and watch the ocean from. Every morning, as we drink our coffee, we're greeted by a flock of parrots flying by. The spacious room is tastefully decorated, with just the right amount of furniture. The bathroom, accented with Mexican tile, has a walk-in tiled shower to die for. The gardens are lush and beautifully maintained and there are other outdoor spaces - patios and terraces - to escape to, to read, chat or have a siesta, within the walls. Although not "on" the beach, this hacienda-style hotel is just a few steps away. It's an easy walk from Casa Caribe, to the center of Puerto Morelos, either by beach or road, where there are several good places to eat. Casa Caribe is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a beach vacation.
