“Perfect For Families!! Young and Old”

Reviewed 23 Mar 2014

My Family rented 5 cabins at Sleepy Hollow for a small reunion. Our age range was from 3 yrs. to 78 yrs. Everyone loved it! The Cabins were adorable. A little on the Eclectic side and sprinkled with some really nice antique pieces. The first day the kids laid around and played their video games. The second day we got them outside and it was wonderful to actually watch our children play! Seems that kids don't play anymore. They were playing with the numerous outdoor games that are provided and challenged the parents to join in which we did. We really did not realize all of the fun that we had been missing. The owners had a good supply of rubber boots and offered them to us to play in the creek. They had a blast building waterfalls. I don't ever remember seeing my kids that dirty. It was wonderful! With so many of us we cooked most of our meals there. The kitchens were spotless and equipped with absolutely everything you could need. They even had a great stock of spices. We spent an afternoon at one of the local Gem Mines. That was fun and productive. We found several precious stones. The people working there showed us what to look for and were very helpful. At night we had a fire in the large fire pit, and roasted smores..Delish! The kids chased fire flies and put them in jars that the owners provided. The last night of our 5 day trip the owners suggested that we each bring a covered dish and they would supply the meat and drinks. We had the most wonderful Briskets I have ever eaten! It was melt in your mouth tender and the natural juice was perfect. There was soda, tea, and a home made Sangria that was to die for. I even got the recipe. That was all 2 years ago. We are going back this summer. The kids are older now but have been asking every year to go back. They can't wait to get there. It's just not that easy to get all of us together but sure is worth the effort! I have a feeling that one day our kids will be taking their kids to Sleepy Hollow.

“Fantastic way to meet great people from all over this wonderful”

The service at Sleepy Hollow was great. The managers were very helpful and fun to be around. The cabin we stayed in was, as usual, very homey, clean, and just what the doctor ordered. The cabin is located just off the main highway nestled among a group of large evergreen and hardwood trees so you don't hear much of the traffic noise. The sound of the water running down the creek is very relaxing. There are areas to sit on the grounds where you can just listen to the sounds of nature or a play area for a game of horseshoes, badminton, volleyball, etc. Great place to let your kids (two-legged or four-legged)run around and play. They are pet friendly and that means a lot to us. We have stayed at Sleepy Hollow numerous times and have never been disappointed. The managers are very, very good and make you feel right at home. We have had the opportunity to meet and get to know the owners also, who are fabulous and make you feel more like family than guests. There is nothing that we don't like about this location, that's why we return once or twice each year. We have stayed at Sleepy Hollow numerous times and have enjoyed ourselves
