“The Best”

Reviewed 30 Jul 2015

Have stayed in numerous houses over the years , and have been searching for the ideal "bolt-hole" for our precious one week a year break. At last we have found the perfect place! The privacy of the house, and the location are ideal. It's a quiet area but has a great selection of towns within a short drive . We stayed in Girona the night before coming to the house , and it only took three quarters of an hour to get there. Natalia , the owner was different class, very helpful with suggestions, and genuinely pleased that we shared her love of the area, while respecting our privacy at all times. The pool and gardens are fantastic , the wild flowers, birds and butterflies equally amazing. Already looking forward to going back next year.

“One of the most beautiful cottages in one of the most beautiful locations I have ever had the privelege of staying in.”

A truly lovely cottage. Extremely well designed and appointed and very comfortable. We didn't want to leave! Incredible attention to detail. I stayed there with my husband and 15 year old daughter and we all loved it. We travel extensively and often book cottages but this is honestly one of the best I have every stayed at. The location is wonderful - very rural with spectacular views across the valley and the most amazing birdlife right on the balcony and nesting outside the windows all over the garden. An incredible variety of birds. So good to wake up each morning to bird song. Great walks, scenic drives, horse riding and interesting things to within and around Girona. We are keen horse riders and there is a fabulous equestrian centre with well cared for horses just down the road - can't recommend it highly enough. Good food, good wine, lovely people and it hasn't been tainted by too many tourists - not sure if I want to let the secret out. Thank you so much Natalia - such a wonderful place run by such a wonderful host. She is there if you need anything but leaves you alone to enjoy the place.

“One of our best holidays”

Reviewed 4 Sep 2013

La Pedra Remenca is a wonderful holiday home, with beautiful gardens and pool, in a stunning woodland location. The house is spacious, very comfortable and well equipped, with some beautiful antique furniture. There are fantastic views into the woods and across the valley from the windows at the rear of the house, and particularly from the large, shaded balcony - the perfect place to eat or just sit and relax. When we arrived, the house was spotlessly clean and there were cut flowers from the garden in every room. The garden and private woods are delightful - full of flowers, butterflies and with a small herb and vegetable patch for use by guests. The salt-water pool is very clean and perfect for a family. The overall feel of the property is very relaxing and private, with plenty of space to wander and enjoy the stunning views all around. Natalia, the property owner, is an exceptional host. She has a genuine passion for the local area and her help and advice really helped us to get the most from our holiday. As well as providing an excellent folder of local information, she was more than happy to provide more personalised advice on hikes, activities, restaurants and shops to suit our needs. She made requests and bookings on our behalf and cooked us a delicious meal during our stay. Alongside providing an attentive service, Natalia was very respectful of our privacy, inviting us to contact her by e-mail and always asking in advance if she could visit the property to clean the pool, bring fresh towels etc. We were made to feel very welcome in the area, particularly in local shops and restaurants. Caix Can in St Marti de Llemena and the stunning Mas el Siubes, near Les Planes d'Hostoles opened specially in the evenings to accommodate us (most local people eat their main meal at lunchtime). Our holiday at La Pedra Remenca was one of our best and we very much hope to return. We would highly recommend the property.

“Absloutely the best!!”

This is an outstanding holiday property in which the owner has invested much love and thought - and it really shows. Fantastic welcome on arrival, care and attention to the smallest detail, peace and tranquillity all week - amazing. You will not regret spending time at La Pedra Remenca.

“Lovely family villa in Spain for relaxing holiday”

Reviewed 2 Aug 2013

La Pedra Remenca is the perfect villa to unwind and relax. It was wonderful to sit quietly and breakfast in the garden watching the butterflies lazily twist in and out of the wild flowers. The villa is in a great location to explore the region, go walking and take in the flora and fauna of Catalonia. Our children enjoyed the pool and taking photographs of the different varieties of moths and butterflies. It was especially nice to see the hummingbird moths enjoy the lavender. Natalia, the owner, really pays attention to detail and this is reflected in the quality of this villa. Superb.

“Thank you Natalia - it was perfect”

Reviewed 20 Jul 2013

The villa, its gardens and the views from it where fabulous and far beyond our expectations. We knew the region was steeped with history, fascinating towns and villages and but we had no idea just how beautiful the surrounding countryside would be and how excellent the local seasonal food produce would be. We ate like kings. The wild life, flora and fauna have to be seen to be believed. We have barely scratched the surface of this charming region. The villa was a perfect retreat to relax in after a busy day absorbing all the sights sounds and senses of this unspoilt part of Spain. Natalia's care and attention to every small detail in the villa and its gardens where second to none and her book of suggested walks, restaurants and places to explore was an invaluable addition. Just perfect. We want more, and more, so we shall definitely be back. Infact,we wish we where there right now enjoying a glass of wine by the pool listening to the birds in the evening sun. For those of you who enjoy a bit of bird spotting we enjoyed watching:(In and around the villa garden) Golden Oriole M+F, Green Woodpecker, Tree Creeper, Blackcap, Northern Wheatear, Garden Warbler, Bonelli's Warbler and Whitethroat. Elsewhere in the region: Chough, Great Grey Shrike, Red Backed Shrike, Marsh Harrier, White Stork, Little Egret, Cuckoo, Great Reed Warbler and Sedge Warbler. Plus many, many, more of our old favourites like Nuthatch, Goldfinch, Siskin etc. Natalia, we can't thank you enough for making our much needed holiday one to remember... for always. Very Best Wishes from Steve & Julie xx

“Living in a beautiful home in an idyllic garden in gorgeous coun”

We had a wonderful holiday made special by Natalia and her kindness and dedication to ensuring her guest's comfort. The house was extremely well furnished with high quality bed linen, towels and robes. The kitchen was stocked with oil, vinegar and spices etc and best of all your own vegetable garden with lettuce, strawberries, herbs etc ripe for picking. We could have just lazed in the garden all day listening to the birdsong and enjoying the lovely views over the hills without another house to be seen. This is a place for people who enjoy nature and peaceful surroundings, it is good walking country in scenic countryside and so nice to return home to. The house is down a long private driveway and the path to the front door flanked by a wildflower meadow, roses and butterflies - a small piece of paradise. If you want a medieval city, shops, beaches, fishing villages, all are within a comfortable drive.

“A wonderful honeymoon”

Reviewed 29 May 2013

La Pedra Remensa is a beautifully decorated and located hideaway for those who appreciate natural beauty and privacy. It is easily reached but very private and surrounded by wonderful scenery, including a wildflower meadow and amazing view over the valley. The house has been tastefully renovated in a traditional style but with all modern conveniences. The balcony has a stunning view across the tree-tops and is perfect for breakfast as the sun comes up and in the evening for a romantic dinner.Natalia (the owner) could not have been more helpful and welcoming - even down to the heart shaped chocolate cake and bottle of cava we received on arrival. We had a wonderful week here on our honeymoon and hope to return again. We would highly recommend it.

Natalia met us on our arrival and walked us through the property, it was immaculate, clean and homely. The location was perfect for a stress free holiday, fresh & open with incredible valley views. We found the people of the area very warm and friendly and look forward to returning next year.

Natalia is the caring host of this absolutely beaufiul property. It is as cosy and comfortable as it is functional and beautiful - a genuine Catalonia piece of heaven. The wood, stone, fireplace, views - all surround you with the beauty of this land. Be sure to get careful instructions from Natalia (our GPS did not work up there) and bring groceries - you won't want to venture out too much!
