Description

Mimosa is a superb 10-person villa in the exclusive Punta Estrada side of Puerto Ayora. This house is snugly positioned two-minutes walk away from the port, the beach and two of the best restaurants in town. Walking is the only way in the vicinity as there are no roads and hence, no traffic. The only way to reach this neighborhood is to take a 5-minute water taxi ride from the busier Puerto Ayora.

After ten years of successfully letting out our home, ‘The Cactuspad’, (see the reviews on our Flipkey listing), we decided to move back in. This left us with a great demand for the renowned service we’ve provided, and the logical next step in taking on a new rental!

We are thrilled with Mimosa due to its superiority, comfort, attention to detail and fine housekeeper who keeps the place looking like new! She visits 3 times a week but for an additional $5/hour, she could come daily.

With a pleasant sea-breeze, views over the ocean, four huge, comfortable, on-suite rooms, this recently converted bed & breakfast is ideal for a couple of families looking for a beach vacation in the tourist capital of Galapagos!

With its dedicated housekeeper, you can relax and enjoy an idyllic, self-catering vacation without the hassles of house maintenance.

We charge a minimum for one week ($2,000) unless gaps are available, and you can start on any day of the week if there is availability. Please enquire after additional nights which are charged at $286/night. For periods of less than a week, we have a $400/night rate, minimum 3 nights.

We have a travel agency called Galapex, and can help you sort out the flights from the mainland if you wish. This is sometimes tricky to organize from outside of Ecuador! We also work out tours in Galapagos and Ecuador with a great insight into the cruises, being naturalist guides ourselves.

In addition to Mimosa, we are also renting Orchidea: a 2-bedroom condo in the other part of town! Please ask for details.

We hope you enjoy Mimosa, an affordable, brilliant alternative to the traditional cruises of Galapagos.

There are currently problems with the internet service on the island. The demand is high and the service is very limited due to infrastructure. The result is that the internet is almost non-existent during the day. I've found that very early morning, between 3-6am, the internet is reasonable.

During the day, messaging works but downloading any pages just doesn't happen.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If PAUL (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
