“Beautiful, relaxing with delicious food.”

Reviewed 15 Mar 2013

We had a fantastic and very relaxing time. Stunning location, no commercial tourism and no one bothering you, which was ace. - Good swimming pool - Rooms modest but work well. - The food cooked be the amazing Caty was out of this world, just be carful, not to say you like it to spicy hot...! We did a great little half day trip to another beach with a forest, where we had some friendly locals cut us some fresh coconut which was fun, definitely worth the trip, just asked Doddit to arrange. We will definitely be going back.

“Relaxing escape”

Reviewed 14 Mar 2013

Had a very pleasant few nights with my family at the Vineyard last month. A much needed escape from the stresses and strains of city life in Surabaya and a far cry from the frustrations of South Bali. Kids (aged 9 & 6) enjoyed running around the spacious grounds, playing footie, jumping from the pool house roof into the pool, exploring the beach and searching for the gecko we could hear but not see - found it in the end! The landlord, Mike, organized a fabulous Babi Guling for us (suckling pig) which fascinated the kids and revolted some of the adults :-). We were staying in the ills at the same time as the owner and his family and the calm was only disturbed by Mike who was running around sorting things out for guests who were due to arrive in the following weeks. The Vineyard is a place to relax. It's remote in as much as it is a careful drive through the paddy fields to get there, drive carefully and keep your eyes on the road - don't go waving enthusiastically at people when driving or you might end up in the paddy field - ahem! The villa is close to Singaraja (5 mins), a very traditional Balinese town, not over run with tourists and only 20 minutes to Lovina - for a few more touristy options if that's what you want. Service from Katty and her niece was fabulous, with lots of perfectly cooked traditional food. There were a few things in the villa which needed some attention, such as the water pressure in our bathroom and a few nuisances such as mosses and ants, but hey, this is a true home in the tropics not Club Med. A bit of bug control was administered, and all was fine.

“A perfect place to relax and unwind, away from the hustle & bust”

Reviewed 14 Mar 2013

We had a perfect relaxing holiday in The Vineyard Bali. The villa overlooks the ocean and is charmingly located in the middle of rice fields. We could hear the soothing sound of waves breaking on the shore and sometimes, birds chirping. The adult swimming pool is large enough to do laps, complete with deck chairs to sunbathe on. We liked the fact that it was such a private, tranquil place with open-plan designs and decorated with traditional wooden furniture. We could freely use the modern kitchen facilities and we exceptionally loved the food cooked by the villa cook. Overall, we felt at home...with a beautiful surrounding as a plus.

“Amazing villa, beautiful location, relaxing holiday”

As our first trip away with a 6 month old baby I was slightly anxious about travelling to all the way to North Bali. However, once we arrived at The Vineyard Bali, weary from 22 hours travelling from London all my anxieties were dispelled as we found ourselves in the most idyllic secluded setting listening to the sound of the Java Sea. The gorgeous, spacious villa is set amongst beautiful lush paddy fields and moments from the beach. It is wonderfully airy with air-con and fans in all rooms. The rooms are huge with enormous 4 poster beds with mosquito nets and an ensuite shower room. A lovely cot was provided and a little tub to bath out daughter (which was also great for keeping her cool in the day). The pool was a great size with a smaller paddling pool which was brilliant for taking babies in. They were also plenty of shaded areas to keep her out the sun when I needed to but also get a little sun myself! The living area was huge and comfortable - lots of sofas downstairs looking out on to the garden and upstairs in a TV area which also leads on to a terrace with wonderful views over the garden and out to sea. We were spoilt during our stay with a live in cook Kati who made the most incredible Indonesian food. Everything was made from scratch from fresh ingredients she bought at the market each morning and I don't think we ate the same thing twice. There were offerings of drinks throughout the day which meant i barely had to think about looking after myself. Eda was also there to help Kati and the two of them were warm, welcoming and brilliant with children - always making them smile and there to take them off you whenever you needed a break or an extra pair of hands. We also arranged for massages at the house which is easy to do and well worth it as they are brilliant. The villa is also very near Singaraja and Lovina if you feel like exploring but honestly, you'll just want to get back to the villa. All in all amazing villa, amazing holiday!

“Just amazing”

Reviewed 8 Mar 2013

I was looking for something suitable for a family holiday (wife and 3 kids ranging from 4 to 19 yr olds) and found The Vineyard, which, turned out just perfect for us. Amazing value that suited our quite tight budget. Part of the villa's charm is that it is situated in the real Bali on the north coast accessed via a long track, surrounded by paddy fields and a beach. The villa was simply amazing, completely private and self contained, well laid out, swimming pool with a kids paddling pool, lawn, kitchen, dining and tv / games room. Kati and annie produced some of the best asian food I have eaten (I have lived in Hong Kong for 5 years and traveled quite extensively!!) using fresh ingredients from the market or fish from the local fishermen caught that day. An array of fresh fruit each morning, tea/coffee/juices all day by the pool. They cleaned anything and everything, so a pr of pants casually discarded at lunch was back cleaned and ironed by supper. Yanto, our driver could not do enough for us and all became genuine family friends. Being out in the sticks I was concerned the 2 highly active teenagers would get cabin fever but I need not have worried. My backup plan was to spend some quality family time in Kuta if and when this happened but we ended cutting our time short in Kuta as everybody wanted to get back to the villa - so we spent most of our three week holiday at the villa. One teenager was facebooking from her veranda by the pool, the other was creating music (with headphones!) from his veranda by the pool, the 4 yr old completely self contained with toys in the paddling pool - while my wife and I slept and read in the shade of nearby palm trees - bliss. In short, fabulous location, fabulous villa, fabulous food = fabulous family holiday... loads of things to do and see near by from markets, golf, hill walking & waterfalls, diving, dolphins and beers on beach.

“Nice villa nyaman dan damai”

Reviewed 7 Mar 2013

“Peaceful & relaxing holiday in the middle of paddy field”

Reviewed 29 Sep 2011

We stayed for 4 days in the villa this summer and it was excellent! The trip to the villa was a little bit "long" as we had to cross the mountain roads but as we arrived to the area, the roads were smooth. It was also a little bit tricky to find the villa as we arrived at night and there was no signs to lead us to the villa. Despite of that, the villa was surprisingly beautiful, the crew was really helpful, the rooms were clean, kitchen was functional and complete. The villa has many rooms that makes it convenient to travel with big family or several couples. It also has a connecting room for parents with young kids. Upstair living room was my favourite room in the villa, so cosy and relaxing. We spent most of our time in the swimming pool, kids loved it and didn't want to go out. Swimming pool has a perfect size, clean and water was at good temperature. The villa is situated in the middle of paddy field, really peaceful and beautifully green. As it is located off the touristic area, we won't find tourists stalkers. The drawback is that there isn't many big restaurants around, only small "warungs" but there is a carrefour supermarket not far from the villa and we can buy our provisions there and make our food. The beach is really close to the villa, we just have to cross a block of paddy field to arrive at the black sandy beach. It is not the most beautiful in the island to my personal taste but it was perfect as there wasn't too many people. The villa can provide an Indonesian cook (you need to check with the crew for price and conditions) but we didn't take this option as we only stayed for a short period of time. If you want to have a peaceful and relaxing holidays without being too far from the crowds (Lovina is only 15-20min by car), the villa is the perfect choice for you.

“Excellent and relaxing”

My first experience of Indonesia could not have been better. The villa is set in an area where you are easily able to explore and discover untouched parts of this magnificent island. I wonderful experience that I would recommend to others.

“Wow - villa exceeds expectations”

Long flights from Heathrow to Bali - picked up at the airport at 8pm and driven over the hills to the villa. Bumpy ride over paddy fields which brought us to this amazing isolated villa just yards from the beach. A lovely meal awaited which set the standard for the rest of our stay. The villa was exceptionally well laid out for our teenagers and toddler with beautiful lawn area leading to the pool. The staff could not do enough for us, fruit smoothy, tea and coffee through the day lazing by the pool. All meals prepared and a driver in the wings whenever we wanted to go anywhere - such as dolphin watching, snorkelling or walking in the hills. Internet and mobile phones kept the teenagers occupied - so much so instead of being bored and villa bound they were happy to remain enjoying the villa service instead of Kota clubs. All in all - I can say this was one of the best holidays we, as a family, have ever had - the success was really down to the villa experience and its remoteness - it just worked so well for us. 10 out of 10 for the parents / 10 out of 10 for the children - what more could we ask for!!
