Very Good

“Superb getaway from it all location”

Ideal, well equipped cottage to enjoy the scenery the Isle of Lewis has to offer - plenty to see and do in and around the cottage, we had a fabulous holiday here :-)

“Welcoming, comfortable and thoughtful.”

Lochan View Cottage was a great place to stay. It was clean, well-equipped and homely. We stayed for a week with two of our children, 10 & 13 and our large Labradoodle Max. It catered for all our needs, we were warm, we fished on the Loch just beyond the garden, we played puzzles and games from the stash in the cupboard when it rained and it was a welcoming place to return to after a day walking or seeing the sights. Max thought he was in heaven, lots of space, a warm fire and sheep wandering in and out of the garden. We will return to explore more of Lewis and Harris and relax in this lovely cottage.

“Fabulous Week Exploring the Isles of Lewis and Harris”

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lochan View Cottage. The cottage is extremely well-equipped and had everything we needed and more. It is very homely and cosy and we would definitely stay here again. Its location on Great Bernera is central for exploring the Isles of Lewis and Harris. The highlight of our holiday was visiting the stunning beaches with our dog who also enjoyed her holiday and can't wait to go back!

“wonderful stay”

Just returned from a lovely week at Lochan view. The cottage is very comfy with lots of home comforts. Plenty of space for a family of four with two teenagers. We had mixed weather but were still able to enjoy coffee outside in the lovely garden making use of the outside furniture. We had our own bikes with us & were grateful for the large shed to store them in. The cottage is in a great spot for walks/rides straight from the door including to the beautiful Bosta beach. The village shop is very handy for milk/bread etc.& has a post office. The community center cafe serves a nice lunch with lovely cakes!!It's museum is also worth a visit with friendly staff. Cameron is alway quick to answer emails & made visit very smooth.

Great location and facilities, very well stocked kitchen. Wonderful stay overall, the only minor issue is the wifi can be a bit slow.

“Wonderful winter vacation”

Reviewed 9 Mar 2014

We spent 4 days here in February and had a wonderful holiday. The cottage was comfortable and cosy and had everything we could possibly need with a well supplied kitchen, logs and firelighters for the open fire, and a selection of tourist information brochures to help us plan our stay. The views are lovely and getting around the island from the cottage was easy. And we got to see the Northern lights!!

“A cozy cottage with great views”

we stayed at this beautiful cottage for seven weeks and left on the 19th Dec 2012 I am sitting writing this review and missing it very much...hope to go back this year..Cameron is easy to contact and is very nice...The cottage was home to me and my husband angus our Dog and Mr Tomm our cat...I spent a lot of time walking and coming back to the cottage and sitting in the Winter sun on the decking...then around 4 lighting the log burner in the lounge.. and cooking amazing meals as the cottage has everything you would have in your own kitchen at home..If you want somewhere outstanding then book this cottage...

“Great location and a really well thought out self catering cotta”

Reviewed 9 Jun 2013

Great service from the owners, with any questions promptly answered. The house was light, well furnished and had everything we required as we do cook on holiday the kitchen was very well equipped. Nice touches such as radios and wif fi also helped to make it a home from home. The views from the house are excellent and we benefitted from a dry, bright and sunny week. Great walk round the island was a nice introduction and everyone we met friendly. The house was probably in our top 2 or 3 of self catering cottages - based on 25 plus years experience. If we did self catering we would do it like this. Thank you so much.

“Peace and quiet in a stunning location”

We had a cold but wonderful week on this beautiful island. We wanted somewhere remote and this was perfect. During the week we went on the circular walk from the cottage to the breathtaking Bostah beach and back along the road, the walk took us 5 hours and we saw one other couple which gives an idea of how peaceful it is. Recommend Bostah, Luskentyre and Dalmore beaches. The cottage was well equipped and warm (important when the weather isnt so good!) and we spent lovely cosy evenings in front of the woidburner ( take your own fuel for this). The beds were comfy, I cant fault the cottage it was perfect. All in all this was a lovely relaxing and peaceful holiday.
