“Yosemite wonder! Excellent house!”

Reviewed 21 Jun 2014

We loved this house! The location was perfect and the neighborhood quiet! We traveled with our teenagers. 14 and 17. The short drive to the hikes was the key! Stay at the house, use the kitchen for dinner and you will have no regrets if you are looking for a vacation that has beautiful sites and a relaxing, comfortable, clean house! The owner emailed usfantastic advice - nice man!

“Great Mountain Home Inside the Park”

Reviewed 24 Oct 2013

We (4 adults and three kids) spent three great days in the Valley and stayed here in September 2013. This is the kind of home where you'd want to visit friends - has everything you want but you don't have to be scared to touch anything. The renovated downstairs bath is beautiful with the granite shelves. The kids loved the treehouse and the view off the deck is stellar.

“Clean, lots of room, nice location about 12 miles from Yosemite”

Reviewed 3 Sep 2013

Six of us(two couples one child and one adult sister of one of the couples) were there for 9 days. We arrived to find it clean and well-kept, orderly with notes here and there describing things. However, if you're looking for a five-star hotel with maid service every day, this isn't your place. Beds (3 Queens, one dbl bunk) were all good, firm mattresses. We cooked every day, since there really aren't any restaurants in the area, and the refrig.- freezer was large enough for our initial load of food-for-six-for-9-days. That was nice! Cooking utensils were good enough (although a large non-stick pan would have been nice to augment the two cast iron pans) Also, a few more wine glasses. Liked best - Location, location, location! Space. Refrig-freezer. Plenty of towels, sheets etc. Internet service ( but no cell phone) Could be improved - I think most rentals are for only 3-4 days, thus there is no washing machine for clothing. Being there 9 days we missed one. A small one would be nice (no need for a drier). Wine glasses were scarce and totally unmatched. We didn't find any "facecloths" for washing, and -due to some oversight- the telephone instructions were not posted. [there is no cell service, although there is in the Valley so a call to Hans straightened this out.]

“Great Place with History”

Reviewed 10 Apr 2013

First of all, this place is great. Do not misunderstand, this house is not a $5mil mansion, it is a fantastic home in Yosemite that is a huge value!. I have stayed here many times and I have never been disappointed (winter, summer and all in between). A neat bonus is the history of the owner, Hans Florine. Hans is the current world speed record holder for the fastest ascent up The Nose of El Cap at 2 hours 23 minutes!!! So cool. Back to the house. All you need to bring is food, everything else is there and everything is labeled as to its location (all drawers are clearly labeled) that is a very nice feature when renting a house. Now with internet... Heck, just book it for your trip, you can't go wrong.

“Perfect place to stay for an awesome week of adventure in Yosemi”

Reviewed 2 Apr 2013

We were very comfortable at Hans' Basecamp and thought the location was great for exploring all parts of the park. The house was clean, warm, and had everything we needed. My kids loved the tree house. I want to come back in the winter and snowshoe.

“The perfect spot”

Reviewed 22 Nov 2012

We stayed here at the end of with a friend from Thailand who wanted to visit Yosemite. The cabin is in a perfect spot--just a few minutes from the Glacier Point Road and about 20 minutes from the valley. The cabin had everything we needed for cooking and keeping ourselves comfortable. The owner was good about communicating with us and making sure we knew how to get there. Considering that we could cook in the full kitchen and avoid eating in the overpriced Yosemite restaurants, the price of our stay was very reasonable. I can't think of a single thing that I didn't like, although our friend lamented that there was no internet. Oh well.

Response from the owner we now have internet!

“Cozy and close by the park”

Reviewed 10 Sep 2012

Cozy 3 bedrooms 2 baths, very comfortable. Close park. We have been there at 3-4 time over past 6 yrs and always had a great time there. Will go back for sure.

“Great outdoor experience”

Reviewed 23 Aug 2012

The house is in a quite area, deers underneath the balcony in the morning. It is not overwhelming luxurious but has perfect large sofas and a superb balcony to have breakfast or dine. It is a 20 min drive to the valley, Glacier point and Mariposa Grove. We stayed with 7 (3 adults and 4 kids) and it suited us fine. We took a lot of food with us from outside the park and thus enjoyed the big fridge. We spent these days predominantly outdoors but loved to see the deer underneath the balcony while having breakfast and have a drink and dine outside in the evenings. The highlights of our stay (7 days) were the 5 bears we saw over the week, the swimming in Tenaya Lake with an Osprey catching a trout just in front of us and the numerous hikes we made throughout Yosemity. Great value for money.

“Yosemite can't be missed!”

Reviewed 4 Sep 2011

My wife and I and the 3 kids loved our stay at this cabin. It's close enough to all the site seeing and secluded enough to allow us to enjoy the peaceful Yosemite environment. Would definitely recommend staying here!

“Wonderful Family Fun - Great location!”

Reviewed 19 Aug 2011

What a beautiful home! The location was heavenly because it was so close to all the amazing sites in Yosemite. Our family loved sitting on the deck at night and watching the shooting stars. The kids had a great time on the tire swing in the back and we enjoyed cooking meals together and making hot chocolate. This was truly an amazing place and the owner was more than flexible when it came to accommodating our needs.
