Very Good

Reviewed 23 Oct 2016

Ten of us just completed a 6-night stay in this beautiful home. There was plenty of room for the five couples to have their own, private space plus enough common space, both inside and out, that we could spread out comfortably. Nothing was missed with the interior layout and design of the property and the landscaping was extraordinary and reflective of the local vegetation with tons of native plants beautifully laid out. The house was fully equipped with everything one would need to begin their vacation and the kitchen was fully stocked; the owner was nice enough to leave us locally grown coffee beans and fresh fruit to welcome us. The location of this property was ideal as it gave us ready-access to a major roadway less than a mile away but also gave us the solitude we were looking for after completing an arduous relay race. The views from the lanai at the house level were amazing, one could spend an entire day enjoying the sights, and the same is true for the pool deck just below the house which included a beautiful cabana and a hot-tub which came in handy for all of the runners! We would gladly rent this property again, the owner was accessible and very responsive to questions about the property and the area in general. We hated to leave such a remarkable place behind!

“Beautiful home with lots of space for all”

Reviewed 23 Jul 2016

The house was beautiful with great bedrooms, large well equipped kitchen, large dining area, and a wonderful living room for all to gather together. The grill was great for cooking dinner. Bedrooms were large and had fresh linen and adequate towels. Beach towels were available in the laundry room. Large washer and dryer were available. There is a grocery store a short distance way. There are numerous beaches and snorkeling areas close too. We rented kayaks and went snorkeling by Captain Cook's monument, snorkeled at two-steps, spent time in the pool. We drove north to see the statue and view stopping at the Macadamia nut factory and petroglyphs We relaxed on the balcony and watched the beautiful sunsets. We found many cute gecko and even saw some of the frogs that make noise in the evening. The garage is well stocked with snorkeling gear. The two year old says thank you for the sand toys too. Only problems were we are use to block out blinds and all were woken early by the daylight way to get early starts. Also the towels (except for the ones in the master bed room) smelled musty and I would suggest having all washed with a non-Clorox bleach and not having people start a load that would sit any length of time before going into the dryer. Great homes and highly recommend for family reunions. Beautiful place!

“Our Honeymoon!”

Reviewed 31 Jul 2011

My husband and I are stationed in Oahu and as a wedding gift our family gave us a four day/three night stay at the aloha Bed and Breakfast on the Big Island. We were thrilled to take a little adventure and get some much needed R&R; (especially for the hubby!) and we received that and more! We had such a great time! The house was perfect! It was so refreshing to be somewhere that was all open with glorious breezes, views, but at the same time had the comfort and cleanliness of a nice hotel. Angela was such a fabulous hostess and we felt completely comfortable in her hands. Her breakfasts were delicious and a great start to the day! Her advice was spot-on and we don't know what we would have done without it! My one wish is that we could have stayed longer! Altogether beautiful place, breathtaking views and awesome people. We definitely give it two thumbs up!

“beautiful setting, welcoming hosts”

Reviewed 15 Jul 2011

We stayed here when it was run as a bed and breakfast, rather than vacation home. It's a stunning house, with gorgeous rooms, especially the one we stayed in, with a view of the water. It was very roomy, with a large closet, and a slightly separate area to use as office or reading place. It's close to Kalakakua Bay, snorkeling spots, not far from Kona. Angela was extremely friendly, seemed to enjoy the guests, very helpful about how to find the activities of interest. I have no suggestions for improvement - we loved it the way it was. We were thrilled with our stay.
