“Beautiful”

Reviewed 31 Jul 2022

We stayed at Church Farm for a week and have no bad words to say. Having said that it depends on your expectations. We stayed with 4 adults and our dog and had plenty of room for everyone. If you are expecting the height of luxury then this is not the place for you. It is homely and a little dated but very clean and everything you need. Kitchen was well equipped although we only ate breakfast in. Edna the owner and the various people working on the farm were all extremely accommodating and made us feel very welcome. We chatted to various people and was allowed to stroke the horses and wander around the farm freely which was lovely. The dog must be kept on a lead whilst on the farm. There is a beautiful walk along the river which the dog can roam freely. We would definitely come back again as is a perfect place for visiting the surrounding areas as you are not far from the new forest and the beaches. Would recommend and thank you for having us. See you again soon.

“An incredible place to stay”

Reviewed 23 Apr 2022

We arrived a little late, and Edna and her team were there to welcome us & show us around. The children went straight out to explore & to meet the animals - and were invited to feed the lambs with farmer Matt. What an incredible time we had - the way the team encouraged the children to take interest, and the kindness shown was out of this world. It was a well needed break for us, and the children gained so much from being on a working farm. The building itself is just stunning - with its oak beams & white washed walls - and the 2 mezzanine bedrooms, with their pull curtains, just added to the adventure of this week away. A car is definitely needed, although the beaches, shops & entertainment are only a short drive away. It has been an absolutely magical experience & I would highly recommend.

“Great little find”

Reviewed 12 Sep 2019

Just finished a stay at the stables and have to say it was a really pleasant stay. Accommodation was clean and tidy. Owner was very pleasant and helpful and the added bonus of a laundry room and games room with a pool table. Advice for guests staying to check in follow the sign for mr and mrs a Ross and then head to the green tractor. Lovely quiet location with short 15 mins to bournemouth beach, Poole and ring wood. Great places and one of the cleanest beaches I've been to by far.

Response from the owner The flies were undoubtedly a nuisance and would have coloured Nicola's opinion of the place, but the area in general had this problem. It had never happened before and I hope it never does again. Some of my neighbours blamed the heat wave, and the long dry spell we have endured . The woodworm was treated at the time of conversion. The Stable is not modern. It is an old building and does not pretend to be anything else. I can only presume that it's old worldliness, and the fact that this is a farm and we have animals is what appeals to the people who return for their holidays year after year. I am very sorry that Nicola did not enjoy her stay.
