“Perfect family condo on the beach”
The location couldn't be better - the condo overlooks the beach and the gardens, and we spent every evening having dinner on the balcony watching the waves. The Dollar General Market across the street had all the basic groceries, and the Publix was only 10 minutes away if we needed anything fancier. The property had beautiful landscaping and an immaculate pool deck - we loved the shuffle board. Kitchen was stocked with all the basic equipment, and we were pleasantly surprised to find a Keurig! We always had plenty of space on the beach, which was also very clean. Kayaking at JB's Fish Camp and Canaveral National Seashore were both very close and provided a nice break from the beach. If you plan to do laundry: facilities are shared by the complex and coin operated - so bring change. We had no problem finding an empty machine, and they were clean and in good working order. The WiFi is also shared by the complex, so it bogs down if lots of people are on it - it's fine for basic searches of restaurants, but don't expect to stream movies, especially at night. We had a great time here, and hope to return in the future.

“Castle Reef 516 had a over whelming odor when you opened the door.”
When we arrived at the condo and opened the door an over whelming odor of a musty smell hit us. I wanted to go straight back to Ocean Properties to see about a refund and find another condo. My husband said he thought maybe it needed aired out. We purchased odor absorbing containers and odor absorbing candles. This did not work. We spent $20.00 plus dollars to rid the smell. We stayed away from the condo as much as possible. We left early and come back to sleep. The free WiFi was useless. The only time you could get on was real early in the morning and then it was very slow. It would not let you on in the evening. We were going to stay and extra night, but we will be checking out and staying our last night in a hotel. If the owner takes care of the odor it would be a nice condo for the money.
Response from the owner Reply by Owner The first I became aware of this guest experiencing an odorous condition was when I read the guest’s review on Flipkey/Travel Advisor. Had the guest advised either me or my rental manager of the condition we would have immediately remedied the situation. However the guest remained in the unit for their full stay without ever communicating any problems to us. She also did not communicate any problems with the free wi-fi we furnish through the condominium association. A simple call to the resident manager and the tech support team could have easily remedied that situation as well. Upon learning of the client’s displeasure with their stay (after they checked out and reading it on the webpage) I immediately contacted my rental manager and requested an explanation for the alleged odor emanating from the unit. As we do every year in December, we arrange for the unit to be intensively deep cleaned which included shampooing the carpets in the unit. According to my rental manager, this was done a few days before this tenant arrived; and apparently the guest experienced a residual odor due to the carpet not having thoroughly dried prior to this guest’s arrival. We maintain a schedule of having the unit professionally cleaned after each guest leaves and before the next guest arrives to insure a clean, comfortable and enjoyable stay. We have never had a complaint about the cleanliness of the unit until this instance. The rental manager inspected the unit as soon as I contacted her and advised that the unit was professionally cleaned after this complaining guest checked out and that there was no odor present in the unit at that time. I have also advised the condo association manager of the the guest’s complaint about the wi-fi service and he is investigating that issue. Wi-fi, being a condominium association furnished service, I have no control over the quality of that service, except to apologize to the guest for its unsatisfactory performance during her stay. We enjoyed the comfort of this condo during our stay. Very clean and great view of the ocean.
“Great location, nicely maintained, beautiful beach!”
This was the perfect place to stay. First, the condo was very well maintained and well stock with all necessary kitchen pots, pans, utensils, etc, as we are a family that likes to eat out occassionally, but also like make our own food right in the room. Very comfortable bed. Extremely quite room at night. Beautiful view of the ocean. The entire complex was well maintained. Check-in was easy with the keys readily accessible in a drop box for after hours pickup. The pool area was great, very clean. Onsite staff was very friendly. Location wise, it could not have been better. Located on a No-Drive beach, didn't have to worry about the kids and beach traffic. It is also directly across the street from a very nice Dollar General Market, had never been in one before, but they have all the regular named brand stuff, nice selection and great prices. Also, a couple nice restaurants, a liquor store as well as a surf shop are all located in the plaza directly across the street. Only a short 4-5 minute drive into town to get to Flagler ave which has all the great shops, restaurants and bars. I will definitely be back. Highly recommended.
