“Peace, quiet and zero hassle”

Reviewed 26 Jul 2014

The immediate welcome from Tig and Buster (Lance and Kim's dogs) is equaled only by the warm generous welcome from Lance and Kim. Their primary concern is for you to find the holiday you are looking for. We were looking for peace and quiet and peace and quite it what Le Champ has in bucket loads. I even had to video the quite. Having holidayed in France for some 30 years unaccountably we'd not explored Normandy, so we wanted to explore the area. Lance was ready with all kinds of very good and helpful suggestions. The Champ is ideally placed in easy reach of all the major attractions of the area. The accommodation is finished to a very high standard and in our judgement would suit a "snuggly" away from it all Christmas and well as it does the summer holidays. SImply excellent.

“Awesome Rural French Retreat”

Reviewed 17 Mar 2014

My dream to live in a rural French cottage was realized at Cherry Cottage. After a week traveling Italy by train and a long drive from Paris we arrived to a warm welcome from Lance, Kim, Buster, Tiggy, a warm fire and a bottle of wine. Lance provided a quick introduction to the cottage and left us to settle in. The next morning, he and Kim provided us with more tips regarding the area. The morning sunrises are awesome and the evening sunsets are breath taking. It was nice to wake up each morning to birds and the sound of a distant tractor as the farmer prepared the fields for spring planting. The cottage is delightful with everything one needs. As americans, we were surprised to learn that only one sheet is on the bed with a duvet. Not a problem, as it became a standing laugh each day. The owners, Lance and Kim were very helpful and provide great suggestions for sightseeing and let us use their binoculars. Lance even gave us a Wwii piece of memorabilia that is unique and on their farm. If you are interested in Wwii this is the place to stay. It is in the middle of everything that happened between June 6 - Sept, 1944. Be certain to hike the hill behind their farm...there are several bomb craters that I believe may be from the Counter attack during the siege of Hill 314(317) at Mortain, which is only 7k from the cottage. There is so much to see and do in this area, I wish we could have stayed another week Thank you Lance, Kim, Tiggy, and Buster for a memorable holiday and helping to fill our Bucket List.

“Cherry Cottage...Just Perfect”

Reviewed 8 Sep 2013

Having stayed in many Gites over the years Cherry Cottage has to top of the list of our favourites. Set in tranquil surroundings, with outstanding views of the Normandy countryside, the cottage is very comfortable and extremely well appointed. The grounds and wonderful flowers are beautifully maintained by the warm and friendly owners Lance and Kim who are very enthusiastic about what they do and make every effort to ensure you enjoy your stay. Even lent their binoculars to us. Great couple. Altogether a very pleasant holiday, we loved every minute and hope to visit again before too long.

“Just Perfect”

Reviewed 29 Aug 2013

Having just returned from our two weeks holiday, Cherry Cottage is just an outstanding holiday cottage. On our arrival we were greeted by the owners Kim & Lance and their two dogs Buster & Tiggy we were made to feel very welcome, the cottage itself is like a home from home in every aspect, Kim & Lance`s knowledge of the local area is also a big bonus. So if your looking for the perfect holiday retreat stop You`re found it. Alan & Maxine

“A Little French Gem!”

Reviewed 14 Jul 2013

This cottage is simply idyllic, set in beautiful countryside with the most amazing outlook. Sunsets from the rear of the cottage are spectacular. Cherry cottage is the perfect size for 2 and a well placed base for exploring Normandy & Brittany. Lance and Kim could not have been more welcoming or helpful, they have clearly worked hard to present a wonderful property at this superb location. Like their owners, their dogs are friendly and charming, what's not to like!!!

Response from the owner Hi Angie and Ivan,Thank you so much for the lovely review,We really appreciate it and happy that you enjoyed your stay with us. Kind Regards Kim and Lance.

“Comfortable cottage on a well maintained and attractve site in b”

Reviewed 10 Jul 2013

We wanted to spend a couple of days re-touring the Dday Landing Beaches and we chose the perfect cottage to stay in, just over an hour to the beaches, extremely comfortable on a site impeccably maintained by Kim and Lance. With colourful pots and hanging baskets glowing in the sunlight we were treated to the friendship of Buster and Tiggy (the dogs). There are many other things to see and places to go nearby and further afield. We left reluctantly but feeling refreshed and determined to return.

Response from the owner Thank you for taking the time to write us a review we very much appreciate it. We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay with us and are grateful for the lovely photo's you sent us over we will definately be using some of them in our sites next year.

“Cherry Cottage should be a well-kept secret!”

Reviewed 11 Jun 2013

Cherry Cottage has been lovingly restored to a very high standard and nestles in its own little valley with fantastic views across open fields. The interior of the cottage has a feature log burner that keeps you warm at night. Lance and Kim, the owners, offer a warm welcome and proffer advice on all the local amenities. Highly Recommended. “Cherry Cottage is ripe for picking!”

Reviewed 11 Jun 2013

Perfect for a couple like us - choosy - who know Normandy well and are regular visitors to the Manche region. This cottage has everything to make your stay both comfortable and enjoyable. Finished to a high standard and without th "niggles" so often found in other rental properties in France. Lance and Kim go the extra mile to ensure your stay is perfect. The grounds surrounding the property are exceptionally well maintained, with views to match. Would we go back? You bet!

Response from the owner Hi David and Angie Thank you for taking the time to write a review for us it is very much appreciated. We're glad that you found the cottage comfortable and enjoyed your stay so much. Hopefully you can organise the next trip and we will see you both at Christmas Kim and Lance

“Fabulous!”

Reviewed 4 Jun 2013

My partner and I stayed in Cherry Cottage last month, what a fabulous place. The cottage was very well equipped and like a home from home rather than just a holiday cottage, it has everything you need. Lance and Kim are a great couple who make you feel very welcome and so do Buster and Tiggy their gorgeous dogs who visited us every day for a cuddle and biscuits. We also recommend Kim's homemade jam and the eggs from their chickens, delicious. The setting of the cottage is perfect, peaceful and quiet but not too far away from anywhere, a great base for visiting the Normandy region, the beaches, Mont St Michel etc. We had a great holiday, and recommend you don't stop anywhere else in France, we shall return. Clare and Ken

Response from the owner Hi Clare and Ken Thank you for taking the time to write a review for us it is very much appreciated. We're so glad you had a great holiday and found some interesting places to visit whilst you were here. Buster and Tiggi definitely missed the cuddles and biscuits when you went home. Kim and Lance

“Perfect!”

Reviewed 16 May 2013

A perfect cottage in a perfect location. Great hosts Kim and Lance with wonderful dogs Buster and Tiggy. It's a shame we couldn't take the dogs home with us. The cottage had literally everything we could have wanted for our stay. And an endless supply of logs for which we owe many thanks!!

Response from the owner Hi Ruth and Darren Thank you for the review and we are glad you had a great holiday, we think the dogs missed you when you went home. Lance is still cutting wood for all the cottages because the sun still refuses to shine but unfortunately that's one thing we can't control. Kim and Lance
