“Beautiful!!!”

Reviewed 7 Jan 2014

This was one of those holidays which we will all continue to talk about for years to come, the location is just stunning and Carlos was incredibly hospitable & welcoming (unfortunately David was away so we didn't get to meet him). We stayed in La Terrasse at La Bouyssière which was the closest one to the pool and pentanque court (we enjoyed several games with carlos & other guests during our stay). The house was beautifully refurbished with everything you could possible need, although I personally would have taken a portable Ipod dock in hindsight for the evenings. We spent hours just sitting on the terrace admiring the amazing view & relaxing during the day & evenings around the log burning stove. You need to be prepared to drive a little way to get to the larger shops (about 40 mins) but with a bit of forward planning you can get in most of the store cupboard stuff in one trip and avoid doing any more traumatic supermarket trips by getting fresh bread & veg in Brusque, although you have to get down there early as they ran out quite quickly. There are some wonderful walks in the area, maps were provided at the house and made for some fun days out, either down into the valley or high up into the clouds at the top of the mountains. The whole of Blanc is simply beautiful, including the chapel which hosted a heritage event while we were there & also the barn next to our lovely house. I could go on and on, but quite simply it was just a wonderful holiday to a place which I very much hope we can revisit again soon. Ensure you take good company, lots of books, a pack of cards and let the magic of Blanc immerse you, we didn't want to go back to the real world Thankyou Carlos, David & Sandy for sharing your little gem with us!

“A magical experience”

A warm welcome awaited us as soon as we arrived at Blanc. The location is wonderful, scenery picture perfect, gites very special, well equipped and clean. Our hosts,David and Carlos were very helpful and knowledgable about the area. Our dogs had a fabulous holiday too as the walks from our accommodation and other locations we visited were superb and our hosts are very fond of dogs, which made it a relaxed experience for us. Everything you needed for either a chilled or a more active holiday is within reach of Blanc and we did plenty of sightseeing during our stay, including several gorges nearby. The most memorable of all about Blanc is the peacefulness, the proximity to nature and the amazing scenery. It really is a 'one off'.

“amazing, peacefull and friendly”

we stayed in Blanc for a week and wished we could stay longer, would love to come back, very special place, beautifull, peacefull, comfortable, friendly hosts, perfect for those searching for nature and quiet.

“stylish seclusion”

Reviewed 27 Aug 2012

Breath taking views of a hidden wooded valley wrap around the terrace. On meandering walks through chestnut, oak and ash, you pass by whiffling streams, accompanied by so many butterflies. On lazy days just walk to the old church and other gites of Le Blanc, or swim in the shared pool. We hardly left the valley for a week. It's a great place for doing nothing, especially with boisterous kids. And at night the stars are stunning and the antics of the Eurpoean doormice are great fun to watch.

“Blanc-sur-Sanctus is unique”

Reviewed 4 Aug 2012

The stone cottages are situated in truly beautiful surroundings of forest with views to distant hills. The cottages themselves are rennovated and furnished to the highest standard. David and Carlos are wonderful hosts.

“A beautiful, historic environment with every comfort provided.”

Reviewed 3 Jan 2012

David and Carlos have created a unique holiday experience, by upgrading the gites to a very high standard of comfort. We have stayed in three, and each have their own character. As hosts they provide a superb welcome and assistance/information to ensure enjoyment of the area. The addition of swimming pool facility was much appreciated on hot days. The local area is superb for walking and wildlife, but this is not a resort for those who want lively bars and cafes unless willing to drive. However, if you wish to unwind and relax, then this is the place.
