“This was a well equipped home with everything ready for our arri”
Service was friendly, home was clean and close to the beach and a very nice "local" pub which served good food. We enjoyed the surrounding with cows and sheep - we're city people, so that was novel for us. The house had everything we needed and we had a wonderful time - even the weather was cooperative.
“Great Family home all that you need”
We have just arrived back from this lovely holiday home which we booked for the week and also the annex the home was so spacious even though pictures are available on the website it was more surprising when we arrived as a lot bigger than imagined and so roomy the surroundings are beautiful and the beach was so close even the kids managed to get to the beach in less than 5 minutes. A great holiday rental the best of yet over the 10 years I have been renting holiday homes in Ireland. The beaches are so close and sandy and not very busy sometimes you have the long stretch of beach to yourself. Will be back for sure thank you Sheila from all of the gang who had a great holiday kids did not want to go home nor did the adults.
“Lovely little place by the beach!”
I can wholeheartedly recommend the annex at The Beach House to anyone looking to get away to the West for a while. Location was perfect for a bit of peace and quiet, a stones throw from a gorgeous beach and a lovely local pub, and a short drive to the local shop and to the villages of Easkey/Ballisadare. It was lovely to have my own private space to return to each day, something I feel would not have had in a BnB. The bed was comfy, the house was spotless, and the kitchen & living space more than adequate. Sheila is a very accommodating hostess who made us feel very welcome and had no problem with my dog being in the property. I'll definitely be back again!
“A true escape”
My partner & I spent a week in the annex recently. The location is wonderful in a peaceful, tranquil and rural setting very close to the beach and the beach bar and with great views of Knocknarea, which is a worthwhile climb or for a longer walk do the 15km walk which takes in the climb starting & finishing in Strandhill. The area is an ideal base for walking. We walked the Sligo Way over 3 days, starting in Lough Talt & finishing 73kms later in Dromahair. Beautiful & varying scenery all along the way. If 3 days is not for you any section of this way is breathtaking. Closer to home is the aughris Head/Dunmoran Strand Walk, a gorgeous cliff walk. The annex itself is comfortable and we enjoyed the added peace as there was noone staying in the attaching beach house while we were there until the last 2 nights, waking up each morning to just the sound of cows & sheep, a real escape.
“Peaceful location and beautiful scenery, excellent house beside”
Our family stayed there over Easter weekend and had a great time. It's less than 5 mins walk to the beach and less than 10 mins (900m) to a really good pub (the Beach Bar) with good value food and a very nice atmosphere. The house is very big and has a 4 bedrooms - a double room (en-suite) for parents, a big kids room with a double and a single bed , another double and another single (downstairs) as well as a bathroom and downstairs W.C. so you could fit 2 families. Its very well kitted out with towels, cooking and washing facilities and we really appreciated the small things there like teabags!. Heat and electricity are extra at cost. There's central heating, an open fire and a stove so no reason not to be cosy. The nearest shop is several miles away but once you're stocked up you'd be quite happy staying there enjoying the scenery, taking a walk, reading a good book, etc. Overall its perfect for a family holiday and we'd all hope to get a chance to go back again.
“Comfortable relaxing break.”
Communication with Sheila very good, with all the info you need. Beach annex comfortable and warm with everything you would expect from a holiday let. Love the beach 2 mins walk away, had a meal in the beach bar an it was nice home cooked food. Spectacular scenery, enjoys our first ip to Sligo.
Stayed at the Beach House for a week with my parents, wife and children. The house is a beautiful setting, within walking distance of the ocean and beach and, on a clear day, provides for great views of Knocknarea and Benbulben Mountains. The house was well equiped and roomy, yet cozy. With a fully equipped kitchen and a washing machine, it was ideal for a traveling family. The house is very accessible to main roads that can take you to Sligo, Ballina, and Dublin, making it a great base location from which to tour the lovely northwestern part of Ireland. Lastly, there is a nice pub within easy walking distance to the house with very friendly staff and locals. My family and I will remember our trip very fondly.
“House near small beach & surrounded by cattle”
Nice house near small beach, 5 minutes drive to lovely beach. Lots of cows & sheep around perimeter of property and lots of flies. Electric cattle fence at rear and side house.
we had booked the annex for one week, it was a lovely stay. We enjoid the silence round the house. Sligo was easy to reach. The equipment of the annex was complete for 2 persons. Sheila was very helpful when we needed help.
“totally relaxing family holiday”
We stayed at The Beach House in June 2012. The location is perfect for both sea and mountains. We had relatives nearby and saw lots of them. We climbed Knocknarea, went to a waterfall, ran on the beach, went fishing and generally chilled out. The house is spacious and is close to the fab Beach Bar. The beaches are gorgeous (even in the rain!!). The owner Sheila could not have been more professional or helpful. She even did some shopping for us so we would have food when we arrived. Cant wait to go again!!! 2 very happy adults and 5 very happy kids.
