Bluebell Cottage at Stowhouse Farm is one of our four holiday cottages. Please visit our website at durhamfarmcottages couk for accurate pricing and details on our other three cottages. We are located on the outskirts of Durham City and they are rated 4 stars by Visit England. Nestling within peaceful Durham farmland, Bluebell along with our other 3 cottages are pretty and very comfortable, ideally situated for exploring the unspoilt treasures of County Durham and England's northerly counties. If you would like to stay on a farm and are looking for an English country cottage to rent in County Durham, we have the holiday cottage for you.

Tourist attractions as diverse as Northumberland's glorious coastline, Alnwick Castle, Beamish Open Air Museum and Gateshead's Metro Centre lie within easy reach along with Durham City and its magnificent castle and cathedral is just 9 miles away. Our self catering cottages are also in close proximity to Newcastle, Sunderland and Bishop Auckland.

Set on a 60 acre farm our holiday cottage overlooks the River Browney valley and open woodland through which many well signed public footpaths run. Wonderful walks start from the door and the coast to coast cycle route is nearby as are golf, fishing and horse riding.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Keith (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
