“Views of the Andes at your back door!”
The house was wonderful accommodations for our family (7) all adults. House staff was amazing! Worked with Francisco, owner via email. Everything was as it was promised.
“Wine Country with a View”
This picturesque house was everything and more than our group had hoped for. La Tapera is relaxing and beautiful. With the Andes Mountains as a backdrop, this property offers stunning views of sunrises, sunsets, and star gazing. La Tapera truly has the perfect setup for a large group or family. The rooms and bathrooms are meticulously maintained, and the living room offers a great meeting spot, with plenty of seating and a large, rustic fireplace. Although the house is magnificent by itself, Francisco, Diego, and Patricia helped make our trip truly memorable. Francisco, who owns the property, helped us fine-tune our agenda to maximize our time and enjoyment in the Uco Valley. Diego, on property every day, assisted us with making reservations at the restaurants and vineyards, as well as setting up transportation when needed. Patricia helped start our day off right, preparing breakfast and coffee each morning. They added a nice personal touch to our stay. La Tapera’s location offered an ideal location to explore the Uco Valley. Nearby vineyards include Killka, La Azule, Andeluan, and Salentein. In addition, you are very close to the The Vines Resort and Spa, where you can try a variety of wines and visit Francis Millman’s world renowned restaurant, Siete Fuegos. Remarkable experiences to be had, only a short drive from the house. If you are looking to stay in the Mendoza region, I highly recommend staying at La Tapera. We had an incredible time and hope to visit again soon!
“Breathtaking views and great service”
I spent New Year's here with my family and had the most amazing time. The house is beautiful and definitely spacious enough, but we spent most of our time lounging by the pool, having barbeques, and riding horses in the polo fields. The house is in close proximity to many wineries, and we discovered some quaint authentic restaurants as well. The wifi was a little spotty, but Francisco worked with us to make reservations. Patricia made us feel right at home and we never ate as well as when she was cooking!
“An exceptional home”
A perfect vacation home in every respect. We travel internationally once or twice a year as a family. This home had everything we needed -including en suite bathrooms - and is tastefully furnished and well appointed. We loved the enormous front patio with extra lounging area outside the living area and day bed outside the bedrooms. The living area and 2 bedrooms also opened up onto the patio and the view overlooking the pool and polo fields (with polo horses) towards the snow capped andes was very special. Our sons also took advantage and enjoyed the polo horse rides on several occasions. The property is centrally situated in the Uco Valley but a car is essential. We really appreciated Patricia who looked after us with breakfast every morning, did our laundry and gave us two memorable evening meals - what a pleasure. Francisco dealt with us on a daily basis - booking wine tasting venues as well as reservations for restaurants and his local knowledge was extremely useful. He went out of his way to assist us with whatever we needed even finding a clinic for my husband's weekly blood test. Well done Francisco & Patricia for taking such good care of us. We stayed for 7 nights and loved it - we would definitely stay again if we were to return to argentina.
Great view of the andes. Nice quiet place with most of the necessities. (They could have internet). A nice lady has breakfast prepared for you and will cook great local cuisine for you if you just ask her. Great price.
“Loved this place”
Thank you for allowing us to stay at the wonderful house! Perfect place for 2 families with lots of room, beautiful surroundings and the staff topped off our experience. It was our home away from home! Suggest this as your location if you are going to wine country...
“Amazing experience, beautiful and Relazing”
we spent probably the best 5 days of travelling in argentina and chile the house was amazing, the landscapes outstanding i cant wait to come again, someday i hope. congratulations and thanks so much for such a great time andres
“Simplemente una de las mejores experiencias!!!”
Imposible no maravillarse con este hermoso lugar en el mundo. La casa es soñada y con una vista increible a la cordillera. Realmente excede lo que se pueda ver en fotos, hay que vivirlo!!!
“Amazing idyllic experience in the uco valley!”
Couldn't recommend this house more! We were a group of 7 and the house fit us perfectly (4 bedrooms). The property is beautiful with breathtaking views of the andes. It's about an hour south of the city of Mendoza, in the Uco Valley. I really recommend visiting the Uco Valley. It's well worth the extra hour it takes to get there. It's closer to the andes and has a more wild, natural feel than the areas right around the city of Mendoza. Atamisque Winery in the Uco Valley was our favorite! This house was the perfect home base for our trip of touring wineries, horseback riding, hiking, etc. Idyllic place to relax after a long day (or just relax all day!). There's a kitchen so you can cook for yourself or the staff can prepare meals for you for a small extra fee. Lots of common areas, both indoors and outdoors, with comfy seating. The bedrooms and bathrooms are not luxurious but, for the price, it's a great deal. Definitely recommend this place for a family or a group! Fyi, if you're not familiar with the region, you may want to hire a driver for your trip since, as I mentioned, this is a bit off the beaten path, and there are not a lot of signs, etc.
We just returned from a week long stay at La Tapera. It was fantastic. Prior to our arrival, Francisco was more than helpful with suggesting itineraries and making reservations. We had him help with the wineries, while we booked rafting on our own (while I live in NYC, my family is from argentina, so it was simple for them to call and shop around). The main purpose of our trip was the relax, and La Tapera is setup to support just that. On our first day, we asked Francisco to have an asado prepared for dinner. His on-site assistant, Patricia, who lives nearby, made an amazing meal by any standards. She prep'd, cooked, and cleaned. All while we unpacked, relaxed, and spent time with the family. My two favorite aspects of this rental property were the views (Andes in the distance which you can see while having breakfast outside, swimming in the pool, or riding horses) and the horses. While the property sits on several well-kept acres of land, the horses often walk literally right up to the house. They back away when you approach them, but they are well-behaved and beautiful to watch and listen to. They also keep sheep on the property, which my daughter also loved. They also have an awesome parilla and a round clay oven outside, which are great to use if you love to cook. Overall, it was just the type of trip my family needed coming from the 24/7 life of NYC. I also think it was the perfect way to enjoy Mendoza for the first time, especially since our favorite wineries were between this property and downtown Mendoza (so about a 30-40 minute drive). If traveling with 4-8 people, I would certainly recommend staying here. Even for a couple I think it would make for a great escape (perhaps just a little pricey for some). One note -- don't follow the map listed on this site, it isn't correct. Maybe that's intentional, but the owner sends you a map prior to going there. Andrew
