The Coral Garden Inn is your private piece of paradise located on the carribean waters and beaches of Xcalak, Quintana Roo, a safe and secure fishing village on the beautiful Costa Maya. Experience your own white sand beach, breathtaking ocean views, crystal clear waters, warm tropical breezes and a night sky that will leave you breathless. Only two other homes, 100 meters south of the villa share this quiet, secluded environment.
The condo is 1500 sq ft with a spacious open living, dining and cooking area plus 2 bedrooms and 1 bath. An expansive deck outside the sliding glass doors of the living area and master bedroom spans the ocean front. We are located 10 km. north of Xcalak on the beach road. A sign clearly marks the Inn. Follow the directions the host provides. We are powered by an off grid solar system. Energy Conservation instructions are posted in your condo for the comfort of all guests.
Our invitation is for you and your family to relax and enjoy our beautifully furnished ocean front villa that overlooks the 2nd largest barrier reef in the world. The Villa is an enchanting 2 condo complex with authentic hand-hewn wood and rattan furniture, decorative Mexican tile floors, bathrooms and counter tops, and local artisan designed wall decorations and bedspreads. Each spacious,1500 square foot condo has 2 large bedrooms, a large, open common space that includes the living room, dining room and kitchen and a full-size bathroom. Outside the sliding glass doors of the living area and master bedroom of the upper condo, is an expansive deck, spanning the ocean front and side of the house. The lower condo looks out onto a patio located not more than 50 feet from the water. Each master bedroom has an ocean view. The condos are identical and each can sleep up to 6 people.
The 3rd floor observation roof offers breathtaking views of the Caribbean to the east and lagoons and mangrove jungle to the west. There is a convenient outdoor shower for washing off after visiting the beach or swimming in the ocean. Caretakers are on-site to offer security and assistance. The Villa (both condos) is ideal for family and friends who want to travel together or because both condos are seperate they can accomodate a smaller group with complete privacy from noise and unwanted interruption.

This property is off grid and is powered by a solar system. Heating elements like hair dryers, microwaves, toasters and electric coffee makers are not allowed. Be conservative with water and electricity, by turning off unnecessary lights and fans. Turn everything off when you leave.

Response from the owner We appreciate the above honest review of our guest's vacation at the Coral Garden Inn in February 2014. Just a quick addition from the owners, we just returned from 3 weeks at the Inn, March 2014. The road, which was terrible in February due to the heavy rains, had just been grated and the trip to town takes about 10-15 min. Xcalak is isolated from the hustle and bustle of more touristy areas and this is it's charm, Most people who visit are looking for a peaceful area to retreat and experience the natural, pristine beauty. All guest hotels and accommodations, with the exception of one, are located north of town along the beach road and subject to weather conditions that effect the condition of the road. Even though, resort owners chip in every year paying to get the road grated, the condition can vary.

Response from the owner How nice it was to receive a review from someone who had visited us 2 years ago. Yes, these are many of the wonderful things about Xcalak and the Coral Garden Inn. About the few concerns: When this group visited 2 years ago, the local hotels had experienced some break ins and everyone was cautious. At Coral Garden we set up safety procedures for guests; a locking cabinet for personal items, a safe, and locks on screen doors so you can experience the ocean breezes at night. Our dogs are present to alert the caretaker on site if anyone is around that shouldn't be…for the last 10 years we have not experienced a problem with any break ins. Thus said, our natural "air conditioning" is ceiling fans and the breezes that come off of the beach. The beach is cleaned and raked every morning except in more extreme weather. There is plastic debris that washes up all along the coastline the floats here from who knows where. It is sad to see the trash that is allowed to pollute our oceans.
