Casa Calma is a spacious two-bedroom apartment in the upmarket La Residencia development in Costa Calma, Fuerteventura its secluded garden provides the perfect setting for a glass of champagne under the stars or a lazy breakfast on the patio! The children's windmill provides a welcome shelter and play area from the midday sun; and the brick-built bar-b-que is great for al fresco dining on warm evenings (all year round!) There are sunbeds, and table and chairs for use in the garden and/ on the terrace.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: Please note we have recently upgraded the TV in the apartment to a SMART TV. If you have your own subscription based accounts, eg Netflix, Amazon Prime, Spotify etc, you should be able to use your own account details to sign into these on the TV. PLEASE REMEMBER TO SIGN OUT AT THE END OF YOUR STAY. THE MANAGEMENT CAN TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR SIGNING OUT OF YOUR ACCOUNT IF YOU FORGET TO DO SO!

Obviously, these channels are only accessible if you choose to have the internet (Available at 2 euros per night/ day payable locally)

The apartment is one-minute walk from the Fuerte Action shopping complex, which has the trendy Fuerte Action Bar with free wi-fi to use while you enjoy their fantastic coffee, ice-cream bar, or a delicious snack, restaurants, a handy supermarket, and an array of shops selling both useful and luxury items. Walk for five minutes and you reach paradise - a 21km white sandy beach, where you can just feel your troubles melt away as you listen to the gentle lapping of the waves!

A ten minute drive takes you to Oasis Park, one of Fuerteventura's main attractions, which offers camel safaris, sea lion, parrot, reptile and bird of prey shows and a variety of displays and activities which make for a perfect day out.

Ten minutes drive in the other direction takes you to the fascinating old town and beachfront bars and restaurants of Morro Jable and the commercial centre of Jandia - leather, jewellery, perfume, clothes and local specialities are all available at excellent prices. And don't be afraid to haggle in the street front shops of Jandia - often, the traders don't actually expect you to pay the advertised prices! You will be totally spoilt for amazing white sand beaches in this whole area - they really are second to none!

There are golf courses at Morro Jable (10 minutes drive) and Caleta (30 minutes drive). The world windsurfurfing championships in July make fascinating viewing - even if you don't want to participate. And the beach on La Pared (5 minutes drive) on the west of the island is great for surfers and fishermen! In winter months, particularly, when the weather is usually in the low 20s, cyclists and walkers are in their paradise exploring the unusual landscape to the interior of the island.

The beauty of Costa Calma is its unpretentious sophistication - if you want to find a greasy spoon and yearn for a 'Brits abroad' culture then it's not for you! There is a nightclub and several bars and good restaurants offer the chance to taste local fare, enjoy more cosmopolitan tastes, and experience the best of Fuerteventura's relaxed southern living - the focus is definitely on relaxation rather than rowdy lager louts!

Good location. Nice apartment with everything you need. Very easy check in - we were met outside the apartment. Balcony with garden. Parking right outside. Great holiday! Would definitely recommend!

Response from the owner I am sorry you found the cleaning charge expensive; however, this is clearly stated on the website and it is the going rate for housekeeping charges in that part of Fuerteventura, as you can see from other properties rented out in the area. With regards to the pool, it has always been clean when I have been staying at the apartment and I have certainly used it. It is cleaned several times a week as far as I am aware and I will check that this is still the case. I'm afraid I cannot do anything about the flies, hot countries do have them. You do have a short walk to the pool (about 30 seconds) but I think it is visible from the pictures that it is not in the garden. Some of the apartments on La Residencia are residential are holiday homes and some residential, which gives a good balance and not too many rowdy guests, which we personally like. I am sorry you were disappointed.
