“Quiet beach cottage”

Reviewed 17 May 2017

Awesome stay at this lovely place. 20 meter walk to the sea. Breakfast on the porch was the best thing. Kay and her cats are wonderful hosts, would come back!

Response from the owner Thanks Iris! It was lovely to meet you and Rens. I hope to see you again someday. Thanks, Kay

“Sand, surf, sun, ahhhhh...”

Reviewed 16 Feb 2015

We arrived to a cozy, delightful cottage. Don't think of a resort, instead think of comfortable rustic charm. The breezes were constant but just down the sidewalk the breezes were blocked and it was much warmer. The porch was wonderful and morning coffee and cinnamon bons from John the Baker was a welcome treat. Ask for tips on the local spots and support the locals. Great food at Dawn's Grill & Go, breakfast at Cozy Corners, pizza & sandwiches at Rick's, the Shak, and yummy homemade ice cream/cells to at Tutti-Fruiti's. The waters are clear and shades of blue. Snorkeling is good, lots of places to tour. Monkey River is a good one and Cockscomb Preserve is beautiful for hiking and tubing. Kay is a marvelous host and very helpful. Her kitties are welcoming and visit often. We WILL be back!

Response from the owner Thanks for the great review. Enjoyed meeting you two and look forward to seeing you next year. Thanks again, Kay

“AMAZING!!”

Reviewed 23 Nov 2014

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for a few days in October and it was absolutely amazing! The location was the absolute best! Right on the beach and the people in Placencia are the nicest people you will meet! We needed a place short notice and Kay was very quick in replying to our request for a reservation! I wish we could have met Kay while were staying there, but Carolyn took great care of us! We cannot wait to get back here for another vacation and one day permanently! We fell in love with this small and homey village and home to call it home one day! Thank you Kay for having a wonderful piece of property and for letting us stay! I've already started recommending your place to friends and family to check out!

Response from the owner Thanks for the great review. I look forward to meeting you next time. Thanks again, Kay

“A cottage to call home”

Reviewed 7 May 2014

Our cottage was so much more than a vacation rental, it felt like home. We enjoyed cooking using local ingredients, smelling the cool ocean breeze, and lounging on the hammocks. Kay was an awesome host providing us with the who's who of tour guides and cuisine. The cottage is conveniently located to eateries, shopping, and the beautiful ocean. We look forward to staying with Kay again!

Response from the owner Hi Jen - Thanks so much for reveiwing the cottage. Look forward to seeing you and Matt again. Kay

“Location, location, location”

Reviewed 25 Apr 2014

The Coconut Cottage is the perfect example of a beach cottage!! No frills, just basics! Steps from the water, or, the other direction to town. Kay is a wonderful and helpful host. You cannot beat the location at a great price!!

Response from the owner Thanks for the review!

“The perfect winter retreat!”

Reviewed 2 Mar 2014

Coconut Cottage was the perfect beach retreat. The mahogany cottage with two beds, kitchen, fridge, bathroom, and shower was clean, secure, and had a great view of the sea from the hammock on the front porch. Everything we needed was within walking distance. We could cook our own meals (I'm vegan) with fresh produce from the many markets or eat out at one the many great bar/restaurants in the area. Kay was very helpful and knowledgeable; she helped us get connected to local guides when we wanted to snorkel, fish, or tour a ruin. She knew all the great places to get something tasty to eat. We are telling all of our friends about it!

Response from the owner Thanks for the review, Jim.

“We can't wait to go back!”

Response from the owner Thank you! See you when.

Response from the owner Thanks Pete and Kristi.

“Perfect simplicity.”

Reviewed 31 Dec 2013

I first stayed at the Coconut Cottage in 2007 and have returned several times. It always feels like coming home. The cottage has everything thing you need and nothing you don't...perfect simplicity. Kay welcomes her guests warmly when they arrive and is always sure to make sure your needs are met. I always look forward to returning.

Response from the owner :)

“Rustic and affordable on the beach”

Reviewed 2 Dec 2013

This is our second year in a row to stay at the Coconut Cottage, both times with two adults and two kids. Make no mistake, it is a cottage on the beach. No TV or aC. Not really for the disabled due to stairs. Parking is not close but if you are not seeing anything else in Belize, except Placencia, you do not need a car. It does have wireless. It is 50 feet from the water. Hammocks and lounge chairs make you think you are Robison Crusoe. It is in the middle of everything going on in Placencia. It has two comfortable double beds and a full kitchen. The bathroom serves its purpose. It is a great value. And Kay is wonderful and right next door. We love it.

Response from the owner Thanks for leaving a review. Look forward to seeing you and the family again.
