“Perfect location”

Reviewed 13 Apr 2014

We spent a number of days in Casa Christiana. A fantastic place to stay. Beautifil room and bathroom. Quiet location with nice views. There is a beautiful swimming pool with a large terrace where you can relax. An exeptionally friendly and helpful couple as host make the difference with other B&B;'s. Easily accessible from Pescara (airport)

“The Best B & B”

Reviewed 23 Sep 2013

I have just returned from a 2 week stay at Casa Christiana and had the most delightful holiday experience there. The setting is beyond words, beautiful and serene, from the mountain views to the sound of daily church bells, the photos do not do it justice. Rita and Gerry provide the best service I have ever had, including a wonderful breakfast each morning, outside in the lovely fresh air. They are caring and attentive hosts, I feel I have made some new friends. The accommodations are impeccable, and no detail has been left out, including the pristine pool. I will be recommending this B & B to anyone and everyone who is looking for a good location in abruzzo from which to experience all the area has to offer, beaches, fantastic food, and those breathtaking views.

“Wonderful place, gracious hosts”

Reviewed 10 Jun 2013

We recently stayed at Casa Christiana in May and had a lovely time. While it is a :35 minute drive or so to get to the beaches, the location was well worth it in terms of privacy and quiet and there is plenty to see & do within a short drive - some great local restaurants and wineries for example. You are surrounded with lovely views of two mountain ranges as well as local farms and hill towns. Day trip options include various hill top towns such as Penne and Loreto, beach towns such as Pescara and Montesilvano -- and the Gran Sasso National Park is only an hour and a half by car. Our hosts, Gerald & Rita, provided the perfect blend of hospitality and privacy and have that local knowledge which is key to a great vacation - they gave us many recommendations for local towns, restaurants, and events of interest...and, as needed, good directions(!!). The pool is an added bonus!! This is a wonderful place to stay (one of those best kept secret places) and we hope to make it back again to explore this area some more.

“Can't wait to go back!”

I can't begin to state how happy we were with everything at this charming B & B. Rita, Rita's charming Mother, Gerald and the little loveable pooch Pepe, went above and beyond to make our stay most enjoyable. They made arrangements for some delicious meals at some of the great area restaurants. They helped us in too many ways to mention here and we are truly grateful to them for that . We were enchanted by the locale, the panoramic views of the mountains, valleys and tiny farmhouses and old villages tucked in this nook and that cranny that the location afforded especially from the terrace overlooking the pool. I would be happy to recommend Casa Christiana to anyone. The web photos are just a hint at some of the amazing views. The beauty of the nature that surrounds you made it a truly tranquil retreat from our more hectic pace of Rome, then Venice on the earlier legs of our vacation. Less hectic only to a point as we were so excited to see as many of the amazing things the region has to offer. The Gran Sasso and Monti Della Laga national park, the ancient village of Loreto, as well as the beaches of Pescara and Ortona were some of our points of interest on our excursions. You will be charmed by Casa Christiana. They will hopefully serve you some of their homegrown fresh cherries or jam from the fruit of their Sharon tree when you enjoy some of the great coffee with your laid back breakfast with a truly stellar family.

“Casa Christiana is a real gem!”

Reviewed 24 May 2013

Nestled in the hills with great views of the surrounding countryside and distant towering mountains, Casa Christiana is a real gem! The guest terrace overlooks the a sparkling swimming pool surrounded by beautiful gardens. While the accommodations are lovely, it is the hospitality provided by British ex-pats Gerry and Rita that make it extra special. They graciously shared their extensive local knowledge, making our visit especially memorable. The restaurants we went to in the area had the best food that we had on our Italian vacation. We found abruzzo to be uncrowded and peaceful after a hectic week in Rome. The medieval hill towns are charming and unspoiled by hordes of tourists. Our drive across Italy from Rome was effortless and the scenery spectacular. We plan to return and will recommend Casa Christiana to our friends. As a side note, while Gerry and Rita think they run the place, it's there charming and well-behaved little dog "Peppy" that has guests and owners wrapped around his little paw!

“Peaceful, tranquil and beautiful, what more could you want?”

Reviewed 19 May 2011

In a beautiful elevated location with views over rolling hills and a backdrop of snow capped mountains, this home is magnificent. The rooms are superbly appointed, spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable. Our hosts were incredibly attentive, offering a sumptuous breakfast each day, along with willingness to provide teas and coffees when we needed them. The accommodation is run by an extremely friendly couple, whose extensive local knowledge is worth tapping into! The local area features loads of beautiful old towns and villages, many where time seems to have stood still. Don't miss the amazing old buildings. There are also miles and miles of golden sandy beaches just a short ride away. The area really is a hidden gem, with all the features and none of the hustle and bustle of many holiday destinations. If you really want to see the best of the area you need a car, and be careful, the roads are quite small. Local restaurants provide some amazing Italian fayre at ridiculously low prices... more than you could ever eat for €20 including wine!! In fact most days we took away a doggy bag and it was enough for the next days lunch :). Do try the arrosticini a local speciality it's fabulous! Our hosts knew all the local eateries, and as our Italian was non-existent they even booked us tables during busy times. All in all a wonderful place, it's a little taste of paradise this side of heaven.
