Wow is going to be the first thing you say on walking into this great apartment overlooking the Blackwall Basin. A perfect location with a great view. The kitchen is totally equipped for the self catering traveller, the living area is spacious and bedrooms comfortable. The unit is well served by busses and both DLR and Jubilee Tube line. There is plenty of top shopping at Canada Square and Waitrose, Tesco Express and a huge asda supermarket close at hand. But the highlights were the evenings sitting on the Balcony watching the reflection of the lights on the basin. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and Gillian was ever so helpful and patient with our booking and everything was exactly as the website indicated.
Response from the owner What a lovely review, thank you for your kind comments. It was a pleasure to meet you and I'm so glad the apartment helped to make your holiday a success. Do come again!
“lovely flat with wonderful view”
We stayed in this flat for one week in July. The weather was very hot, so it was wonderful to have a balcony above the water. We loved to watch the ducks and we spent many wonderful evenings outdoors, reading, watching the sunset...The apartment is tastfully decorated, everything was very clean and Gillian was always friendly and helpful.
“Very Nice Stay at Canary Wharf”
My family, consisting of myself, my husband, a 19year old, a 16 year old and my 80 year old mother, had a lovely stay at this flat. The kids were happy just to stay at the apartment when they didn't want to go out. My mother did not have too much difficulty with the stairs or getting to the station. It was very easy to find from Jillian's directions and a close walk to the Blackwell DLR. the whole place had ample space for all. The location was a peaceful respite from hectic London. The view is great. the beds are comfortable. The kitchen and laundry was nice to have. There were a few families of baby ducks and geese in the water! Canary wharf itself is a very busy place, especially on the weekdays. It is quite a sight when the full commute crowd comes down from all those offices at lunch and at the end of the day to eat and travel. There is a full grocery store at Waitrose, a short walk away. It did seem very safe in the evenings. We would love to stay here again if we ever come back to London P.s. don't overstuff the laundry. It won't dry everything. In fact it takes a very long time to dry the load. We eventually got everything washed and dried that we needed.
“Perfect in every way”
Gillian promptly answered all our questions and had thought of everything. The apartment was exactly as it looked on the internet and we were even able to spot it from some distance, across the canals at Canary Wharf, as we were making our way to it from the Underground. For us, the location was just what we needed. As a family of five (two adults and three children - ages 14, 11 and 8), we were out and about every day and it was the perfect retreat from hours of walking and catching the tube and DLR. This apartment is wonderful and I don't believe you'll find one better priced anywhere in London. And this comes from someone who stayed in winter. I can't imagine all the extra light and airiness you'd get in summer.
Response from the owner Thank you for your kind comments, I am so pleased you had a good stay and I hope you will come again.
“Great flat - a Gem | spacious, clean, lots of light, great view”
The flat is really as advertised. We were 5 (my wife + me + our 2 daughters + 1 baby boy) and we loved the flat. It's really spacious. You feel you're at home. Everything is perfect with the apartment. Of course, it's not in Central London, so it's not 100% convenient to go to and back from the city center. But the difference of price with central apartment is huge. It did influence our choice and we don't regret it. We had a trolley for a baby and it worked. So you can do it if you don't have a baby trolley. The owner, Gillian, is a very nice person and she arranged everything become we came it. you know, these little details / great value. A great place indeed.
“very comfortable and convenient”
the flat was warm, comfortable and convenient. A realhome formhome an dperfect for visiting London with children. Gillian was always very helpfgul. Thank you for a lovely stay.
“Flat with a view”
We stayed a week in this nice flat. What a view! Our family of 5 enjoyed to chill down at the flat in the evenings after the hectic days in the city. We will definately come here again. How can you have a 'sea' view in London? But that what we had.
Response from the owner I am so pleased you had a happy stay in London. Do come again.
“Canary Wharf Wonderful”
This is a great apartment. Airy, light, and has a spectacular view, close to Greenwich and a five minute walk to the light railway that connects with the Underground to bring you to whatever you want to see in London in about 20 minutes. Or even more lovely, go a little south to the Thames and take the River Bus. Area was picturesque and safe, the beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well fitted out, and there was tea and biscuits waiting for us when we arrived. Gillian is lovely to meet, and quick to reply to queries. On a travel note, I would suggest that anyone visiting London for a week or more think about getting a pay-as-you-go phone, as modern apartments don't typically have landlines. Wasn't a problem, but it would've made it easier to order pizza for the teenagers. Loved getting back to this property in the evening. Anyone with a thought to seeing the Olympics next year would be wise to rent this now, as the stadium and Olympic areas are just north. All five of my family loved it, and would go back without a second thought. The kids wanted to move there. Thanks for a great vacation!
Response from the owner What a lovely, informative review. Thank you so much and I'm delighted that you all had a good holiday. I will be installing WiFi internet next year, which will probably come with a landline phone with an honesty box for those who don't have UK compatible mobiles phones.
