“Perfect cottage with a gorgeous garden”

Reviewed 7 Jun 2017

The location was perfect for walking to all the local attractions. A short downhill walk to the subway station and the grocery store and a brilliant pub with nightly music. We walked everywhere as the cottage is very centrally located for getting to the university and the museums and lots of excellent restaurants. Getting to downtown Glasgow takes 12 minutes on the subway (which is clean, on time and very efficient). The best part of the cottage though, is its very friendly owners, who have a beautiful garden which they allow the renters to use. We enjoyed spending the days sightseeing and then coming back to the cottage and sitting in the garden with a glass of wine. Pertfect ending of the day!

“Wonderful practical and very romantic”

Reviewed 3 Apr 2014

8 days ago me and my girlfriend stayed in this very ward and beautiful cottage, it was a 7 day stay in Glasgow, although its a cottage situated in a city it is very quite but very close to all important places to visit in Glasgow/Edinburgh. We arrived at Edinburgh airport late in the evening, picked up the car from the airport, and drove to Glasgow (50 min drive) and found waiting for us the owner of the cottage him self, although it was late after 9:00 pm he showed us around, and left all things needed for breakfast for the next morning, and that was very appreciated from us. It was a great holiday in a lovely country from a very helpful cottage owner. I would describe this cottage as wonderful practical and very romantic!

“Fantastic self contained house well positioned for Glasgow's liv”

We had a week over Christmas at the Glasgow Holiday Cottage - the accommodation is ideal and the hosts very friendly and welcoming. We hardly drove at all as the cottage is handy for the subway and the West End.

“Excellent little place for a short break in Glasgow”

Reviewed 6 Oct 2013

What we needed was a comfortable place for the two of us. Somewhere to stay for a week while we explored Glasgow. It surpassed our expectations - what a great place! The cottage is very well appointed and furnished. The kitchen/dining room was the favourite, especially at breakfast time. We did have a chance, a couple of afternoons, to get out into the garden and enjoy the sun-trap at the top. Very pleasant. The location is great too - about five minutes walk from Partick metro and bus station. A daily ticket on the underground is only a couple of quid. So we parked the car up, off-road, at the beginning of the week and never used it again until we had to leave. So many thanks to ann and Roger, we would be very happy to come back and use it again. “What a wonderful stay in Glasgow”

Reviewed 18 Jul 2013

The welcome and the hospitality of annie and Roger have been very warm. Their house is realy fantastic with a so lovely garden and it is a nice place where to stay in Glasgow. The neighborhood is warmful with many shops, pubs and restaurants not too far from the house. The Partick station, 5 minutes walk from the house, with the possibility to take train, subway and buses is very convenient to move in Glasgow and all around. It was a very pleasant stay.

“we enjoyed it!”

Reviewed 8 Jul 2013

I definitely recommend this cottage ! Annie and Roger are really friendly and the little house is perfect for 2 persons. It is close to whatever you need (subway, train, grocery, restaurant and pub) but still very quiet. We enjoyed having a glass of wine in annie's gorgeous garden. The apartment is very well equipped and clean, it is like being at home. Gaelle and Gaetan.

“Couldn't have been happier!”

Reviewed 30 Jun 2013

Right off things were great! Was informed that we could check-in early. Roger kindly gave us the tour, letting us know what we needed to know about. The basics in the kitchen were kindly provided so we didn't feel the need to quickly do some grocery shopping. The neighborhood is quiet, yet close to everything we needed. Train, subway and bus station all in one location, within an easy walk. Close enough to the main roads that over all kinds of restaurants, pubs, etc or other shopping. The Glasgow Subway is great, easy to use. Annie and Roger's back garden is lovely, all manner of plants, plus a lovely place to sit and relax, whether the sun is shining or not. We felt very much at home, comfortable and safe. I can say that if needed, I could comfortably stay at annie and Roger's without my husband being there. Both annie and Roger were more than willing to answer questions, have a bit of chat or leave you to yourself. Being able to laundry while there was very helpful, especially the day we ended up getting a bit wet from that days activities. The day we left Glasgow and went to Edinburgh, as soon as we checked into our other accommodations, we regretted that we hadn't booked for our total 10 days in Scotland, instead of just for the 7 days. The layout of the rooms is ideal. Someone can retire to bed early and the other can stay up, watching a bit of television or getting some stuff done on the computer/laptop, without keeping the other person awake. When we can make a return trip(s) to Scotland, I won't book with anyone else. Perfect for a couple but could manage 3 or 4 people without to much trouble. We have stayed at other self-catering places (in the USa), costing about the same and were lacking in numerous ways compared to annie and Roger's lovely place.

“Perfect in every way”

Reviewed 28 May 2013

We loved everything about the Glasgow cottage, a self-contained flat connected to the owners' home. We arrived mid-morning after an overnight flight from the us and were welcomed by Roger, who got us oriented and recommended the nearby Rio Cafe for lunch, which we enjoyed. The kitchen is well-equipped (the owners provided milk, bread, tea and jam which were much appreciated)and light-filled even on a rainy day. We had used a 'wet room' before (the shower drain is in the floor of the bathroom; a hinged glass panel keeps the water from wetting all the fixtures) and this one is very well-designed. We were out all days and evenings so did not make much use of the living room and TV or the appealing terrace. The location is a lovely quiet tree-filled neighborhood 5 minutes' walk from a major transit stop and about 30 minutes walk from the city center (we walked in the mornings and took the subway back in the evening)which suited us as we prefer to experience a non-tourist neighborhood. Visitors should be prepared for a short climb uphill from the Partick station to the house, and the bedroom is up a curved and somewhat narrow run of stairs.

“We instantly felt very at home.”

Reviewed 11 May 2013

We spent a week in annie and Roger's flat and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Annie greeted us with a very warm welcome, showed us round and made sure we had all that we needed. The accommodation is modern, fresh, stylish and comfortable. A lot of attention to detail has been given in order to attain this. It is very well equipped and the owner's garden which the kitchen/diningroom opens out on to, is beautiful. The bed is also extremely comfortable and the wet room great. It is in a quiet leafy area not far from Byers Road with it's shops, bars and restaurants but also close to the University, Kelvin Park and the Botanical gardens. There are many lovely walks and places to visit. If you want to visit Glasgow City Center then there is the subway in Byers Road which will get you there in minutes. The flat is also close to bus stops and there is plenty of parking plus off street parking. We would definitely recommend this place to stay as it has a wonderful home-like feel. We instantly felt very at home in the big city.

“Perfect retreat - as good as it looks.”

Reviewed 8 May 2013

Annie and Roger were helpful, warm and welcoming. We had a flight delay and he was there to show us the cottage and explain the basics even though it was late. The apartment is just as it looks, and spotlessly clean. It is quiet and very well planned. The kitchen is huge and we spent most of our time at the kitchen table with its huge window into the garden. We also appreciated the up to date appliances, especially the washing machine. The apartment is literally two blocks from a transportation hub, but up on the hill where we stayed you are in another world, quiet and pretty. The larger neighborhood is not touristy, but "real", which we prefer. We walked to the Kelingrove Museum, an easy walk, but used public transport the rest of our stay. I would definitely stay there again. After a day of exploring Glasgow it was always a treat to enter our own little cottage again.
