Very Good

We ended our trip with four days at the ranch and it exceeded all of our expectations. The owners Vickie and Hank were warm welcoming and you could not ask for more. The location is close enough to Zion to enable you to get to park early enough to get parked without getting up at crack of dawn but far enough away to be a great get away location. All of our party would return in an instant. Absolute gem of a place.

“With Every Comfort of Home, only in Zion!”

Reviewed 8 Aug 2011

This is our third stay at Sunset Canyon Ranch, and each trip is better than the last. The Ranch is located on the lower part of Kolob Terrace, close enough to be a short drive to the great trails of Zion, but far enough out to miss the crowds. The house is very private, set apart from any other structure on this massive ranch, however it is close enough to the river to hear the water at night. Vickie and Hank, our lovely hosts, make themselves available to help out in any way possible to facilitate an enjoyable experience. The Log House is incredibly well equipped and well maintained. The kitchen is stocked for a gourmet. The layout of the house is smart and provided privacy between us and our friends were traveling with us. This is one of our favorite vacations spots. We've stayed in a number of places around Zion. Sunset Canyon Ranch is by far our favorite.

“Gorgeous Kolob Canyon Creekside Vacation Log House”

Reviewed 12 Jul 2011

I have had the pleasure of being able to enjoy the charm and beauty of all three Sunset Canyon Ranch vacation rentals in the West Zion valley, and I simple adore the tranquil beauty of this awesome land. The quiet serenity of this beloved sanctuary is a respite for the soul, and the sound of water running down the canyon walls is always a treasure to enjoy. Perfectly nestled alongside this colorful creek bed this country ranch offers quite a splendid view of the "finger canyons" this northwest corner of Zion is known for. The privacy of this getaway is ideal for anyone who likes being close to all the great scenic areas of interest, yet equally desires the serenity of a more secluded abode. The famous Subway trails are only a few minutes away and all the pleasurable amenities of pool, hot tub, tennis courts, duck pond, and horse pastures are right at your finger tips. Every room is kept neat, clean, and refreshingly organized so that you can relax and unwind in the comfort of the aesthetic space. It's a fabulous location for both family trips as well as a romantic adventure, and there's a fully stocked kitchen and household accoutrements that make it really easy to feel right at home. The master bedroom and bath is truly lovely, and there's more than enough room to entertain a large dinner party if desired. Reservations are easy to make and the owners are incredibly gracious with all of their guests. One feels completely taken care of, and it's definitely a place I adore visiting during different times of the year. Giving yourself the gift of this experience is worth the journey off the main road into the magic of the back lands. This is definitely one of the best ways to come and partake of the majestic awe within Zion's mountain Gods. Such a special occasion to land here on this sacred ground where the power of our mother earth is astounding! Have fun... for it's a never ending delight!!!!

“The accommodations and surroundings were supreme.”

Reviewed 9 Jun 2011

As a seasoned traveler, one of my favorite times was spent this May at the Sunset Canyon Ranch. There were three accommodations to choose from: a two-bedroom rustic cabin, a two-bedroom cottage, and a three-bedroom luxury log home. All three were enchanting, like something from a fairy tale. I selected the three-bedroom home which included every amenity possible. I loved lounging in the comfortable deck swing, listening to the nearby gurgling stream, and watching the hummingbirds buzzing around the baskets of petunias. The kitchen was equipped above par, and the lavish bedding and linens made me feel like a queen. In every nick and cranny of this remarkable home were interesting objects, books, plants, and conversation pieces. This place has a personality all its own. I could have spent the entire vacation just relaxing in front of the giant screen TV watching any of dozens of videos provided. However, I did take time to explore the surrounding region. As anyone who's been there knows, the area of Zion's Park is one of the most gorgeous sites in the world--a photographer's paradise. I took nearly 400 photos in the park alone. The contrast of the red rocks, green foliage, and blue sky was absolutely stunning. Nature created her most glorious masterpiece in Zion's Park. I thoroughly enjoyed Springdale, a small community only 15 minutes away from the Ranch. Besides restaurants with delicious cuisine, there are dozens of interesting little shops selling exquisite wares of local craftsmen. Rich with Indian and Mormon history, the city of St. George is only a 45-minute drive from the Ranch. Lured by the breathtaking landscapes, warm dry climate, and beautiful housing developments, St. George has become a haven for retirees. Our host at the Sunset Canyon Ranch, Vickie Moyle, was the most accommodating hotelier of any in my world travels. I must say that my week-long stay was one of the best experiences of my life. I recommend it to anyone.

“Beautiful Canyon Getaway”

Reviewed 8 Jun 2011

Just a short drive from restaraunts and Zion's main entrance, tucked away in a beautiful canyon, you have all of the amenities other places provide, with the comforts of being at home. My husband and I were looking to get away for the weekend. Whether you love the hiking, climbing, biking, or the laid-back atmosphere Southern Utah and Zion National Park has to offer, you'll be satisfied. There are few accomodations near the park that provide the seclusion and relaxation that we wanted, but this place has it all. In the mornings we'd eat breakfast on the back porch and listen to the birds chirping and the rush of water nearby. You get the beauty of Zion without the people. It was very clean and spacious and could easily accomodate 6 with room to spare and would certainly be fun for family's or couples of all ages. It is a great value and had friendly service. I've already booked it again and would recommend it to anyone.

“Best Vacation ever!!”

We came to Zion and Sunset Canyon Ranch to ride our horses and get out of Park City's "never ending winter". The accommodations were super comfortable and included everything we could desire. The flowers and gardens, the river running through, the peaceful pastures, all blended to make our stay a total joy. Enthusiastic "thumbs up" from this satisfied group!!
