Very Good

“Wonderful place”

Reviewed 9 Sep 2016

When I was searching for a place to spend this year's vacation, I carefully read all the reviews of this place and I thought to myself they could be exaggerated a little. Now, after returning from Tuscany I know they weren't. Moreover, no pictures can prepare you for the amazing experience of this wonderful place, and of course for hospitality and helpfulness of our host, Janilee. She welcomed us with a homemade tart on the arrival day and was offering her advice for variety of things during our stay: best local restaurants, wineries, things to see and do, tips for visiting Florence (which we did by train). Janilee also made a reservation for us for Uffizi Gallery, she kept calling the reservation office for two days and finally arranged it for us - big thanks for that! Her villa is a perfect place and starting point to visit large part of Tuscany, you can easily reach Pisa, Lucca, Siena, San Gimignano, Florence, just to name the most important ones. And after returning from your trip to one of the places you can spend a day recharging your stamina for next busy day at another location. I'm not going to repeat the information about the house as everything has been said already. The only thing that has not been mentioned before is a pool, which Janilee set up first time this year. It is large (I think 9 by 4 meters or something similar), with a spacious terrace next to it, where you find table with sun umbrella, chairs, deck chairs etc, perfect if you have kids! To summarize, I can say it was one of the best vacations in my life, if not THE best. Big thanks, Janilee!

Response from the owner Thank you Greg for taking the time to write such an uplifting and encouraging review. I really enjoyed hosting your two beautiful families, and I look forward to having many more like you!

“Great Romantic Spot - Good for Families Too”

Reviewed 17 Jun 2012

Nestled in the foothills of the Tuscany mountains sits a quiet, peaceful, and restful villa with the most delightful hostess - Janilee. Not only are the facilities wonderful for a stay of a few days to a few weeks, but the surrounding country side is idealic with its majestic hills and valleys. We even got serenaded by the tinkling bells of the sheep grazing nearby. Even though we were totally removed from all the hectic activity of large cities, the train station and super highway are reached within a few minutes. Florence is only about 20-25 miles away. If you are looking for a romantic place for two, I would highly recommend Janilee's studio apartment complete with kitchen. She also accommodates families or larger groups in facilities that also include a fully equipped kitchen. Rick in Seattle, Wa, United States

“Delicious wood-fired pizza under the stars.”

My experience at the villa reflected everything I imagined a Tuscan vacation to be- good food, warm hospitality, beautiful views and comfortable accommodations. I have fond memories of morning coffee overlooking the valley below, my heart filled with gratitude for the experience.

My husband and teenage daughter thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. The house has been modernized in a very tasteful way and has all the comforts we have all grown accustomed to, while still maintaining the old world charm. One of the most enjoyable parts of the trip were our meals in the kitchen in front of the open fireplace. Janilee's cooking is excellent and the ambiance of that room added to the meals' enjoyment. The surrounding countryside with it's rolling hills, olive trees, and not to be forgotten, the wild boars searching for their next meal under the trees, is exactly how I imagined Tuscany to be. A very enjoyable stay!

“Heaven on Earth”

This property is absolutely amazing. My family stayed there for a week, the accomodations were wonderful. The house is beautiful and very homey. It is very clean, with all the comforts plus more, of home. Janilee, the owner is so accomodating and fun too. She is always smiling and happy. She is a fabulous cook and a wonderful person. We did not want to leave when it was time to go. The weather was fantastic and we ate most of our meals outdoors. Breakfasts would be under a beautiful tree in the backyard, with a swing hanging that was used daily by the kids. Dinners would be at a big family table on the front porch with wonderful conversation and music, or in the kitchen by the beautiful fireplace with a pizza oven inside it. The surrounding area is perfect for walks and enjoying nature. It is a fabulous place to relax and renew. We took a nearby bus to Florence for shopping and exploring museums. It is so close to wonderful sightseeing and so much history. There isn't enough time in the day to see everything. The location is perfect for getting around and seeing things but also to feel like you are out in the country. Staying at the house instead of a hotel gives you a whole different perspective. You feel like you are living there instead of visiting. Someday I hope to return for a longer stay. I would recommend this property to everyone, it is one of the most favorite places I have ever visited. Love Love Love it!!!

Response from the owner Ciao Barb, you did a great job!! It brought back wonderful memories of your time here and I would love to repeat it! I'm looking forward to your next visit! A million thanx, Janilee
