“An ideal location!”
We found this locatIon to be perfect for our home base as we travelled in the Tuscany region. The apartment had excellent amenities, was very clean, and had lots of space to spend an afternoon relaxing. The small town atmosphere provided us with a place to walk an enjoy the warm evenings. Tiziana was inviting and is a good source of local information. Privacy was respected while we had the freedom to use the onsite facilities. We had a lovely stay and have hope to visit again and bring our whole family!
We spent a couple of nights at La Casa di Letta in Massa e Cozzile. It is a really splendid place hidden in the valleys of this little village near Montecatini Terme. We were welcomed very warmly by Mrs Tiziana, the lady of the house, who showed us around in the very spacious rooms. We stayed in the Tessa apartment. Tessa contains a living room, a small but very handy kitchen, a huge bathroom with both bath and shower, very elegantly decorated and a lovely bedroom with ample closets and a large bed, all very nicely decorated and furnished. The interior decoration undoubtedly bears the signature of her son who as we learned later is a decorator. Sheets and linnen are taken care of every day which was a very nice and new experience for a bed and breakfast. In the morning we were treated on a copious breakfast with tea, coffee or hot chocolate as it pleased us and a variety of local specialties and italian bread and pastry. One of the most interesting features of the apartment is its terrace where you have a simply astounding view of the surroundings including the olive tree fields nearby. At night it is magic, a wall of lights on the valley slopes and the sound of crickets only adds to the almost magical sphere on this small but oh so elegant terrace in Massa e Cozzile in Tuscany...One last piece of advice don't come in a huge car because the lane to the house is rather narrow and one further hint, the house is fully equipped to do some selfcatering and you can find an excellent food and drinks store with all local specialties in Massa.
“Wonderful experience in Tuscany.”
We found Casa Diletta a beautiful and comfortable place to stay while exploring Tuscany. We were in the Tessa apartment. A very spacious, modern and well decorated suite. The apartment had an adjoining terrace (with a nice view of the surrounding hills) for sitting and/or eating. The kitchen was very adequate - it lacked only an oven. The bathroom was roomy, modern and there was plenty of hot water - even for americans. Tiziana (the owner) is very gracious and knowledgeable. She is very pleasant person and was a great help with our numerous questions about restaurants, trains, etc. Our stay far exceeded our expectations. We hope to return for another in the not too distant future.
“The most wonderful part of our stay in Tuscany”
What can I say about the Casa Diletta and its most gracious owner, Tiziana? Her hospitality is outstanding. She went out of her way to make our stay comfortable. She even invited us and other guests to attend a party with her friends the day after Easter Sunday - making the stay so memorable. My family stayed in the Tessa apartment and we had all the amenities necessary. The bathroom is enormous - the size of a regular room - with both a bathtub and separate shower stall. The kitchen is small but very well-outfitted, with a good propane stove. A small, toaster oven unit is available in the living area. The main bedroom is attractively furnished with the most comfortable bed I have slept on outside my own home - and that's saying a lot as beds and pillows outside your own home can often be so uncomfortable. But for us, coming from the cement city of athens, Greece, the highlight of Casa Diletta is its beautiful location in the hiills of Tuscany, just 2 km outside of Montecatini Terme. The grounds of the villa are gorgeous - Tiziana is a keen gardener and everything is immaculate. The fireflies that come out in the garden at night contributed to the magic. Florence is a 40 minutes drive away (the motorway is very easily accessed from the villa). Pisa is about a half an hour. Siena can be anywhere from 75 minutes to 2 hours +, depending on the traffic on the motorway (there were road works while we were there, and traffic was often heavy in parts). Don't miss San Gimignano and Volterra, both on the way to Siena. We actually liked them both as Siena is quite large and I like smaller towns (Montecatini Terme was actually the ideal location for our base). Oh, and Tiziana is a wealth of information about places to go, and traditional ristorantes, etc. Trust her recommendations. We fell in love with Tuscany, in no small part due to our ideal 'home away from home'.
