“Chantilly Review - A very enjoyable, comfortable holiday”

Reviewed 26 Sep 2013

The property was as described, clean and well presented. The welcome pack most useful and Samantha helpful throughout. The advice regarding local places of interest and restaurants accurate and helpful. We consider it to represent excellent value for money and will definitely be returning

“Wonderful, relaxing, value for money and unique!”

Reviewed 1 Sep 2013

This is lovely lovely accommodation. Tastefully furnished, spotlessly clean and excellent quality all round. The location is beautiful, quite and peaceful and one gets laxed about locking doors/car! If you cannot relax and chill out here you cannot anywhere. We were blessed with lovely weather ('scorchio') so just sitting out in the (private) garden with recliners and garden chairs and table was holiday enough. Nb We fully expected to 'eat out' a number of times but it was so nice and with barbeque equipment available we sat out in the evenings mostly and drank (!) and cooked away quite nicely! Samantha and alan are so friendly and helpful - but cleverly stay in the background but are always there if one needs advice or help. And listen to that advice! Samantha will let know about you of places to visit etc and is spot on - but only if you want a guide. Being on the fringes of a Nation park as noted, it is secluded so be prepared to travel to 'tourist' spots. However the driving is lovely and on open quite roads (in comparison to the UK!) and at every turn there is a beautiful village/spot so a pleasure. Our absolute favorite was a tiny beach on the other side of the sea wall at the marina in Morgat (accessible only at low tide). That was an hour away - well worth it we thought but there are other sights/towns near (such as) Pleyben (see the wonderful church there) 15 minutes away and nearer beaches. If you enjoy swimming as we do there is a lovely pool for public use at Chateau Neuf du Faou only 20 minutes away on the river alune.

“A Breton Gem”

Reviewed 11 Aug 2013

Beautifully restored Breton farmhouse set in delightful quiet rural area. Hosts very welcoming, helpful and friendly without being intrusive. The house remained blessedly cool in the heatwave, and the private garden area always had an area of cool shade. The accommodation was immaculate, spacious and well equipped. Added bonuses included jacuzzi bath and huge, elaborate bed. Local town of Huelgoat a must visit. Central location makes visiting north, south and west coasts easy. This is first rate holiday accommodation.

“Excellent”

Reviewed 8 Aug 2013

We had a restful break in the Chantilly apartment. The accomodation was very tasteful and exceptionally clean. We had everything we needed and the welcome pack is a nice touch, enough provisions to start the holiday. It was lovely to be somewhere without traffic noise and just listen to the birds singing in the morning. Sam and alan are lovely hosts, on hand if needed but are happy to let their guests relax. The apartment is situated central to lots of sightseeing options which are within 30 mins to an hour's drive. We really hope to return again, and would recommend it.

“Well equipped accommodation in pleasant rural surroundings.”

Reviewed 8 Aug 2013

The owners were very friendly and helpful. The accommodation was well equipped. Everything was very clean. The location is excellently located within easy reach of the coast or countryside. There is plenty to do round there and the roads are extrememly quiet- a good relaxing holiday. Thank you.

“relaxing stay”

Reviewed 25 Jul 2013

Would just like to stay that we really enjoyed our stay. We travelled with friends so had both apartments which worked very well, your own space but chance to get together when needed. The area was very nice for exploring and lovely quiet roads. Samantha and alan were always willing to help with any questions. Thank you again.

“Elegant clean apartment located for easy exploration of Brittani”

Reviewed 15 Jul 2013

We arrived and had little need of services other then information about touring Brittany by car, which was immediately provided. All functions of the Gites worked without problems. The spa bath was wonderful after long walks and to lounge afterwards in the fluffy robes with superb French wine in peace and quiet. Overall excellent for an elderly couple.

“Very well thought out and comfortable accommodation with helpful”

Reviewed 14 Jul 2013

The ground floor gite was very well appointed and obviously thoughtfully furnished. Samantha and alan were most welcoming and we quickly felt "at home".Probably helped by the excellent bottle of wine kindly left in the fridge. The quiet rural location was lovely, and though we were not blessed with the best of weather, we did manage several enjoyable walks around the immediate area.We found access to local amenities was easy, and a meal at La Mirabelle overlooking the lake at Hulgeot is an absolute must, we went twice! First class.

“Charming Gite in Dream Location”

Reviewed 13 Jul 2013

My husband and I spent a week in this lovely gite. The owners were as friendly and helpful as you could imagine and the place itself is pretty, extremely comfortable and includes nice touches like farm fresh eggs waiting in the fridge. The location is ideal for exploring Brittany and perfect for those who want to really get away in beautiful countryside; yet the town of Vire, with restaurants, boulangeries, bars, etc., is less than ten minutes away, with a large supermarket just on the outskirts. Highly recommended! Judy and Eric, Los angeles, Ca, USa

“Every need catered for!”

Reviewed 13 Jul 2013

Although we viewed the accommodation online it still received a whow factor when we entered Fleur De Lys.Clean, inviting & indeed a romantic theme also a very handy welcoming pack of essential groceries until we could stock up from the local Intermarche. We were equally impressed with Chantilly where we also spent a few days. Having breakfast & the occasional evening meal on the patio was a delightful experience especially as the weather was at its best. Beautiful surroundings & very quite just what we needed.Lots to see & do in the area with wonderful beaches. Well done Sam & Alan for all your effort in making our stay so delightful.
