- Very Good
“Not enough good can be said about this palce.”
This place was incredible. It very comfortably slept five adults, and came stocked with everything we needed for a really great weekend. Hotels are fine, but you'll never find a place that feels quite like a home--unless you find a place like this. We stayed very late in October, and we came prepared with thermal underwear and extra sweatshirts, but the little wood stove heated the whole place marvelously. Also, you just can't beat the crackle of a fire in the background. The cabin is sunny, has lots of windows, and is such a peaceful environment. And if peace and quiet isn't your thing, you can always rock out on the baby grand piano (which we did into the wee hours) or put on one of the many CDs found on the shelves. The cabin is a very short drive from town, and not far away from State Parks. We had hoped that there would be accessible hiking trails within walking distance of the cabin itself, but we couldn't find any. That's really our only small disappointment in our whole experience, and we enjoyed our drive out to the park. The cabin was perfectly clean when we arrived, and we felt immediately comfortable. It would be great for a couple looking for a romantic escape, perfect for a group of friends looking to bond over great times, perfect for families looking for a charming town to bring their kids to, perfect for an artist/writer/musician looking to get work done in an inspiring environment. I don't really gush over things unless I feel they truly deserve it, and this cabin deserves every star I gave it and then some.
“Peaceful and beautiful”
I've been a repeat renter to this charming cottage in the woods because it's one of my favorite places in the northwoods. Close to Grand Marais but alone and quiet spot in the woods next to a gentle river. My family and like that it's spacious enough to find our spot to hang out and it has niceties that you don't find in a hotel (I've had to use the washer more than once.
“Honeymoon Cabin Experience”
We choose this cabin for our honeymoon instead of staying in a hotel. We loved that we could cook our our food and eat it by a creek! They had a great selection of movies for us to watch which is awesome because my husband and I are big movie buffs. After a long day of hiking it was nice to come back to the cabin and relax with a movie. We really enjoyed our stay up in Grand Marais and when we go back we will definitely want to stay here again.
“Best location for a Cabin”
The cabin has a nice comfortable feel that was good to come back to after having a great meal and beers downtown. Being 4 miles from Grand Marais you get to take advantage of all the perks of the small taverns and restaurants while staying in a cabin. It offered more than to expect in regards to books, movies, wood fireplace, seclusion and on and on. The cabin has all of the modern day amenities: electricity, plumbing, washer & dryer, oven, and microwave. The loft in the upper part of the a-frame completed the cabin feel. I recommend this cabin to any Grand Marais visitor.

“We found much charm, privacy and conveience to Grand Marais, Nor”
Very nice stay, very quiet, excellent. The sound of the rush of the small stream as you enjoyed it's view from the deck was relaxation at it' best.
“Quiet and peaceful”
A very quiet and private cabin, you can't see any other cabins from the property. There is a babbling brook right in front of the deck. I actually saw a moose standing in the stream in 2008. Comfy, a wood stove, easy kitchen to cook in, a couple bathrooms. We loved our stay there. It is about 15 minutes from Grand Marais up the Gunflint Trail. We plan on staying there again. Peaceful and private.
“Tranquil and beautiful”
This cabin was a wonderful find! The property sits back off the main road and all you hear is nature. There is a stream flowing and the trees are beautiful! Saw many animals like fox, deer, and we think a moose! The cabin is very nice with wonderful charm. It is also conveniently located near Grand Marais and the Gunflint Trail.
