“changed a lot - not 'luxury'”
property sold, furniture changed and downgraded, cheap kitchen utensils and not overly equipped. New owners very pleasant and good location. This site well out of date - photos, owner photos etc. no longer accurate
“a wonderful stay”
We had a wonderful stay at "the old stable". Very nice location and fantastic surroundings and a beautiful garden. Chris & Enid made us feel very welcome.
“Beautiful accomodation in an ideal location”
Our hosts were very welcoming and as the cottage is separate from the main house you can come and go as you please. The Old Stable is compact and has everything you need to cook and relax. The location is ideal for exploring Wiltshire - we went to Bath, Devizes and Stonehenge. It's ideally located for Longleat.
Really enjoyed our stay here over Easter. Lovey cottage in a lovely location. Fantastic countryside views and plenty to do in the local area. A very reasonable price as well. The local pub -Bath arms - in Crockerton serves excellent food and beer.
“Another great holiday”
This was our second visit to Crockerton House and once again we had a great time. The cottage is perfect for a couple and as always was immaculately clean. This time round we used the wood burner which heated up the cottage so well we had to open the windows. The cottage has its own fenced in garden so our labrador could be let out on her own. There is also the main gardens of the house to walk the dog around and various woods close by. The owners were very helpful and friendly as always. We found several good takeaways that delivered nearby and there is also a pub within walking distance. Clarks outlet centre is only a short distance away and is well worth a visit as is Longleat safari park. We cannot find a bad thing to say about this place and would happily go back again.
“lovely weekend break in beautiful cottage”
We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend away, Chris and Enid have a beautiful cottage in a beautiful area and were very welcoming and helpful the duration of our stay. Would definitely recommend.
“Lovely relaxing break !!”
My partner and I stayed at "the old stable" Monday to Friday and had a lovely time. It's in a perfect location as a base for getting out and about to see some sights like, The city of Bath, Cheddar Gorge, Longlete Safari park, to name but a few. It is also a great place to lock yourself away, turn off your phones and just get away from it all for a few days. With the exception of an outdoor hot tub, the old stable has everything you could need for a short break including lovely hosts in Christopher and Enid and if you're a dog lover you can look forward to daily visits from Chili and Hugo the Labradors who will make you feel very welcome !!
“Didn't want to leave”
Loved everything about The Old Stable - from Chris's quick, easy & informative check-in to Enid's home-made bread and cake, we felt at home straight away. Accommodation is not only very well equipped but spotlessly clean, light, bright and with lovely views of the countryside. Great location too. Would not hesitate to recommend to anyone wishes for a little piece of calm and tranquility. Only disappointment was not getting to meet the infamous Chilli & Hugo, but maybe next time!
“A truly pleasurable stay!!!”
On arrive Chris (Owner) welcomed us and showed us round the "Old Stable" which is refurbished to the highest of standards. We were left a home baked loaf of bread and cakes plus a pint of milk in the fridge,a lovely personal touch. Wiltshire has so much to offer and this is simple a perfectly central location to be able to visit numerous attractions. The local pub "The Bath arms" has the most amazing food, however if you want to cook for yourselves there are major supermarkets less than two miles away. The owners dogs (Chilli and Hugo) were also very friendly and visited us every morning in the hope of a spare sausage...which we was happy to share in return of a cuddle. Superb accommodation , highly recommended and will hopefully be returning in the future.
“Lovely private cottage”
A very enjoyable stay just outside of Warminster and close to tourist attractions like Stonehenge, Cheddar Gorge and Longleat. Seclusion with great view over adjoining land but close to owners in case of any queries. Plenty of information provided about surrounding area including supermarkets, farm shops etc and some lovely fresh bread and cakes on arrival with milk for a cuppa.
