“Comfort at an affordable price, with adventures on your door ste”
Right from the start Bill and his wife were very helpful and approachable. I booked into the apartment for a Christmas break (2013) and as my boyfriend and I were arriving by train with our bikes, Bill offered to pick up our supermarket order for us and they even put it all away for us in the fridge and cupboards! when we arrived we found that there were Christmas ornaments around the whole apartment, a lovely touch which we really appreciated. We found that the best part was having a separate boot room at the entrance to the property where you can hang your coats and dry off your muddy boots ready for the next day. The whole apartment is centrally heated so no worries about getting cold. The apartment was extremely well stocked with pots, pans, crockery, cutlery, utensils and washing up equipment. The apartment is right next to a large hotel which welcomes non residents to the bar and rather posh restaurant. There is a large selection of shops, cheaper restaurants, pubs, bars and hotels a short walk away and many more shops and cafes along near the train station. we found everything we needed for emergency provisions in the village. There are marked forest walks starting near to the back gate of the garden, very hilly but the views are spectacular over the hills and lakes. Just 2 miles away is the go below underground adventure centre which can be reached by the main road or a lovely little country lane that goes behind the village, Ideal for cycling and walking. There is also a golf course within walking distance. The village of Betwys Y Coed itself is beautiful, with the River Conwy passing right through and under some impressive stone bridges. The whole village is built from local stone and slate, which looks great. We will certainly be coming back to stay again this year, as Snowdon is easy to get to from here and we want to explore more of the national park.
“Everything you need for a relaxing stay”
Clean, comfortable self catering accommodation well equipped with everything you could need.
“Perfect place to stay”
Mr and Mrs Betteney were the perfect hosts, very friendly and helpful and The acorns was the perfect place to stay. My daughter, grandson and myself stayed in the spacious self catering suite which was perfect for us. It was on the ground floor, with the access down the side of the house. It had a twin bedroom and a sofabed in the lounge and the kitchen was fully equipped. The shower was double the size of normal showers and the accommodation was clean and tastefully decorated. The house had car parking spaces and was only a few minutes walk from the village centre. Betws-y-Coed is the perfect place to stay, if you want to explore Snowdonia. The famous Swallow Falls are 3 miles out of the village and is a must-see place. Mount Snowdon is 30 minuets away and likewise the coast. There are plenty of pubs/restaurants in the village, but a short drive out and there are plenty of other small villages in all directions. I couldn't find any fault with The acorns and will be recommending it to friends and we would certainly stay there again.
Enjoyed a fantastic week. Accommodation was clean, spacious and comfortable. Nice quiet location but easy short walk to town's facilities. Recommended.

“Lovely accomodation and will be coming back”
This was great value, great location to the amenities and I would definately come back.
“Feel like 5 stars”
We had the pleasure to stay over the Eastern holiday in The acorns B&B; and I must say that it is one of the best places we ever had. It is a 5 star establishment but very conveniently priced. Hude room, cosy, sofas, breakfast in the room, amazing bathroom that just makes you feel like you don't want to leave. Highly recommended.
“great location.. very clean and comfortable”
Friendly owners. Great location. Good for business or leisure. Very clean.
“it was a great experience”
The manager made us feel very welcome and the actual accommodation was very roomy and allowed us to cook for ourselves. As we had been touring this was a welcome stay.
“Sets the standard for all B&B;'s”
After looking at the usual hotels in Betws-y-Coed, my girlfriend and I decided they simply didn't offer enough for the sum of money which they were asking for. As we were on our second drive round, my girlfriend spotted this innocent looking B&B; and we decided to check it out. I knew by her face after she came back outside, after the owner kindly let her preview the room, that this was somewhere special. The room was huge and felt very luxurious. It comprised of a bedroom area with a large bed, a separate living room area with a comfortable sofa and TV, a dining room area with a fully stocked fridge for breakfast, and a luxury bathroom with large shower and lovely sink area. There was no offer of a cooked breakfast, however there was a wide selection of cereals, bread, eggs, cheese, ham, fruit, juice and muffins available instead. Overall, a hugely impressive offering that sets the standard for all other B&B;'s. Thanks Bill!
“An excellent base for exploring North Wales”
A pleasant ground-floor apartment with good-sized, well-furnished rooms. We arrived on a chilly autumn day and it was pleasantly warm throughout with a realistic flame-effect electric heater glowing on the hearth. The landlord couple live next door and when we reported a blown lightbulb and managed to dislodge a blind cord, both were fixed almost at once.
